- The Cuphead - Delicious Last Course soundtrack is comprised of over 110 musicians, performing big band & symphonic music. In Summer of 2021, Studio MDHR brought those musicians together for a series of carefully planned recording sessions. This is an exclusive look at how some of the game’s music was created.
Meanwhile, another helping of classic Cuphead action awaits you in Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course! Brothers Cuphead and Mugman are joined by the clever, adventurous Ms. Chalice for a rollicking adventure on a previously undiscovered Inkwell Isle! With the aid of new weapons, magical charms, and Ms. Chalice's unique abilities, players will take on a new cast of fearsome, larger than life bosses to assist the jolly Chef Saltbaker in Cuphead's final challenging quest! For all those with an appetite for adventure, be ready to set sail for D.L.C. Isle when The Delicious Last Course launches for Nintendo Switch on June 30, 2022.

Except it's difficulty
Everything but the coloring on the animations. Traditionally, the character's animation would be copied from the animator's paper onto clear sheets of plastic, known as cels. These cels would then be flipped over, & would be painted on the backside giving the characters color. However, Chad & Jared Moldenhauer, creators of the game, decided that they didn't need to do that. When production first started, they did a test coloring 2 identical animations: one traditionally, & one digitally. they couldn't tell the difference between the Traditional Ink & Paint & Digital paint, so they went with Digital paint to save time & money. However, the characters were still inked on paper, to get more authentic variations in line thickness.
Wasn’t ever really into Cuphead until my 3 year old nephew became obsessed with it.
Had Cuphead just taking up data on my Switch and one day when scrolling through the library he fell in love with the artwork and asked to play. So we played….. and played….. and played.
Now him and I can’t stop playing it. Ofcourse he’s only 3 so I have pretty much soloed everything but I found myself playing the game on my own to unlock things so he can have fun the next time I go hang out with him
For 3 yo he’s actually not bad at the game. He watched me and kinda picked up what to do. He still struggles with somethings but he knows how to parry. He can parry, dodge, into another parry and things like that. It’s crazy that a 3 year old does so well with such a difficult game but yeah… Cuphead really made uncle and nephew time that much more fun.

Toddlers are surprisingly talented! My nephew just turned 4, but when he was 3 he became obsessed with Breath of the Wild. I kid you not, I told him how to do it and he SUCCESSFULLY PARRIED A MOVING GUARDIAN ON HIS FIRST TRY! I was flabbergasted.

This game is the epitome of a double-edged sword. One hand: beautiful visuals and slick gameplay. On the other hand: brutal, punishing, unforgiving, & soul-crushing (no pun intended) difficulty.

I heard this solo once while trying to Ace the boss, not sure how often you’ll get that solo while playing but did and it surprised me how dope the solo was hope you manage to also find the solo while playing

soooo AMAZING I just hope either the boss fight is super long or the yodeling is put earlier in the in-game mix. one of my small gripes with Cuphead is that most bosses don't go over 2 minutes and it usually means you don't get to hear some of the best parts of the song!

I think this song might actually be Sheriff Winchester's boss theme since it gives off that western bluegrass type feel but it also could be Glumstone the Giant's theme as well.
pretty sure it's Winchester's boss theme cause the title has "High Noon" in it, which was a common phrase back in "wild west" that meant 12:00 PM (noon)

I notice that while the original has more characteristics of standard recording 30s Ellington style jazz band, this takes on a more "Scored" kind of feel that the cartoons themselves often had. Where the music is less about a central melody and more about the overall theme (although these tracks have both)
Apparently that’s because Kristofer Maddigan never actually saw what the fights were like, and so just made the songs without much of a basis.
@@wumpus976 I always wondered to myself what the process for choosing what kind of music to make for certain bosses was like in early development.
Certain tracks in the base-game seem so deliberate however, like Grim Matchstick’s theme having a “medieval” feel to it, and Dr Kalh’s robot’s theme sounding more like a kaiju battle than most themes. That being said, I would certainly agree that most songs seemed to be picked and chosen for bosses at random.
That is, until the DLC released where each boss’s theme is very much specifically tailored to the character.

The reason I love this song and fight so much is how well timed the music is. It picks up right as you get to the second phase and usually changes verses right when I get to each phase
It must be a nightmare to record this level of complex tracks in this style for a full game, seriously it just goes to show you how much more complex a single song is from Cuphead, compared to most others from a majority of games!
The amount of creativity that goes into this game always brings me to emotional realization that art has more value than a price tag or number. It’s making a lasting statement and impact on history. So good!
I love this game sooo much, I pirated cus I didn't have money. But recently I bought it with the dlc full price, cus they deserve every single dollar of this masterpiece

YEEHAW! Sorry had to get that out of my system. Now that that’s out-of-the-way I would just like to say that this is incredible. The way they mix all the bluegrass southern country tones and feelings in there while keeping the swing aspect of Cuphead itself is practically flawless and everyone sounds like they’re having so much fun! You know it’s a good sign when I literally have happy giggles while listening to the song. Although I think this will either be Winchester’s boss theme or the theme for a run and gun right before her fight. Nevertheless immaculate song so good

Even if the dlc ends up being worse than the main game or even terrible (Which I highly doubt), this team should be so tremendously proud of themselves for what they have accomplished with Cuphead and how long they have been working on this game and dlc. Congrats guys to making it to the finish line! Cant wait to play it!

You can tell they worked amazingly! There were so many people that had to work at the same time, and you can see the stress that they want it to be perfect! No other people can put music in a game like this!
Cuphead music is on another level of expertise. I can’t even imagine how painful it had to be playing those trumpets constantly. My lungs could never
