I can’t ever imagine being a translator. The process of hearing, remembering, and then reciting-I would instantly crumble under that stress. Especially when they speak for like 5 minutes.

Yeah but they miss some stuff when translating. They basically just repeat the main idea of what they were saying, because yeah remembering word-for-word how they phrased things doesn't work out too much. She straight up doesn't mention some things that were said though, like at the start when answering the question about why they picked a deserted island setting, she didn't convey the main point about starting from scratch as opposed to old games the first time, so the dev reiterated that point for a second translation.
But I agree I would/never could interpret. Too much stress for me to switch languages on the fly and remember everything.
I sometimes translate for friends and even if it's just English and German (my mother tongue), it is extremely exhausting and you often just try to translate the main idea, forgetting some details always happens that way.
@@cassie4923 Yes exactly. I hate when people ask me to translate Japanese to English because it's way harder than just understanding it. My brain just doesn't switch between two languages very easily/quickly, and there's the extra struggle of figuring out which words in English would be the best translation.
Even if you are fluent, interpreting is a huge pain.

I can't believe that Mrs. Kyogoku also wrote the story of Twilight Princess. Those games are totally different. I respect people doing totally different stuff.

The bouncy ponytail is arguably the single most important decision Nintendo has made with their artistic direction.
The shiny hair shader makes it even better
One thing I never considered with Animal Crossing was bounce physics.
It adds a lot of life to your character.
If you look close at the the nooks you can see they look like they have a felt fuzz too.

Like, I was sad it got pushed backs but working in tech support and with development, I know making new programs is a lot of work for developers so I don't mind the wait because you know they are really putting in a lot of effort to make this new addition to the series.

@@i_Mai Nintendo has always kept griefing in their games at the lowest possible, I mean they disabled taunts in the new smash brothers, they will probably have a trading system to give items to people, but I doubt they can just start placing and stealing stuff from your towns.

A few advantages I could think of:
- Less objects to render at one time
- Less clutter/overlap between objects
- Larger sky/more defined horizon

Absolute yes. I do have this small part of me that kind of thinks some of the pixelated charm is being taken away for the realism and modern graphics (i.e shiny hair, proportioned trees and lack of ripples in the water) but I'm overall really happy about it and can definitely wait until its' release.
This is exactly what I wanted. A sequel that brings fresh new ideas without straying from the original concept too much.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks slightly too "polished"? I love how all the indoor spaces look but the plants look too much like plastic to me. It lacks a certain charm BUT I think it still looks great and I'm excited. I just hoped it would look slightly more natural.

Yeah I always wondered why Wild World seemed more dynamic than New Leaf.

My biggest hopes for this game are more neighbor dialogue like we had in Wild World, and the sun setting later during summertime. I always get the urge to play Animal Crossing when it’s around 7 or 8 pm and the sun’s still out, but in the game it’s already nighttime. I’d really love to see it match up better during season changes. But most of all, I hope we can run around anywhere without having to worry about ruining the grass.

Honestly not even upset that it got delayed. I trust Nintendo and their delayed games always end up being some of their best. Plus, there's so many games I want coming out this year I might need a breather.
New Leaf had you building up a town with pre-built public works. In this game, they got you building up an entire island from scratch...

I love how your character's hair slightly bounces when you move
I love how her hair also shines in the sunlight!
Also notice how fuzzy the animals look. And there are cloud shadows!
The big, notable aspects of the game are great, don't get me wrong. But it's also really nice to see all the little aesthetic touches like this! Shows just how hard they're working on every little detail.
and the characters have legitimate expressions now!!
Can't wait for this game to come out, it'll be worth the wait.

I think a social media app for the phone where all the animals in the community talk to you and others about current events happening in your town would be really cool, I know it’s similar in theory to the notice board but I believe it would give each of the animals more charm and help you really think of them as friends.

Looking at this now that the game has released, makes me realize how much the game has evolved graphically since the Treehouse, like there are some huge changes that give the game so much more personality now.
The sea textures were so plane, the sand didn't look so good and a lot of objects textures like the Nook Stop and stuff looked less detailed, and in the final release everything looks better, and the game already looked good for an Animal Crossing.

I was so mesmerized watching the bangs and ponytail bounce and move! It was nice seeing it react to movement rather than stay still. I guess it’s a tiny thing, but it showed how much effort is being put into the game. I’m really excited for it.

Really? I honestly think these weeds are super pretty and since you can apparently replant them, you could just use them like flowers, to form your village. I think that's super amazing!

The multiplayer is a cool feature, but I find it s bit weird you have to stay close to the leader, it's would be alot cooler if you could have a split screen if you get far away from each other, so you can be doing different things instead of just sticking around the leader.

as long as the shops and special characters are still a part of the game: it looks amazing!
Its still pretty early on in game, so maybe you will unlock stores and other buildings later in game to build up the island.

They mentioned stores at one point. My guess is the plane icon on the bottom of the map is similar to the bus in City Folk and you'll just have to travel to get to the shops.
Maybe with the materials you gain you can build the stores around the island. Which would be a pretty cool concept. But is still way too early in the game so I have faith they prob will be there
I mean it would be blasphemy if they didn't have any of the staples. Don't worry I'm sure they will integrate them in naturally

-The hair has jiggle physics and reflections in the sunlight.
-You can polevault over rivers. All you need is 5 softwoods and you're good to go.
-There's a rank below regular tools, as you now start with "flimsy" tools that don't last quite as long, especially the flimsy axe.
-It's like Minecraft and Harvest Moon with how you can craft and cook, respectively.
-There's wheat in the fall.
-r/FellowKids is gonna have a field day with the new smartphone feature. ...Well, technically, it was a thing in Pocket Camp, but that was for mobile phones too, so...
-Villagers can carry things too.
-The plot kicks off via Nook's new desert island getaway project.
-And of course, all the things from Pocket Camp and Happy Home Designer carry over.

I have been battling with myself whether to watch this or not because how the introduce you to the new world is always so special and didn't want to ruin that magic. I FINALLY GATHERED THE COURAGE TO DO IT AND THERE'S NO SPOILERS FOR THE INTRO.
Just wanna mention the translator is just doing her job with all the "um"s. The devs are saying "ano" a lot, which from what I understand is basically "um" in Japanese
I mean there’s plenty of points where the translator is just saying a bunch of uhms anyways. Also a lot of points where she doesn’t say the uhms.
She’s just trying to translate without stuttering.
iBeFloe ‘ummm’ in Japanese is basically ‘eto’ or ‘ano’
I think any translator tends to say something like that cause it's hard to translate in real time.
that's also just how most people naturally talk
Not to mention her “And ands” but I’ll let those sentence fillers pass because Japanese is hard, I’m trying to learn it and it’s hard man.

I know a lot of comments are going to point out the similarities to Minecraft/Pocket Camp, but I think it's a refreshing change for the main games. It also makes sense gameplay-wise since we were always collecting resources (fruit, bugs, fossils, etc.) since the very first titles in the series.
