As someone who's played this game since early access on PC, I garuntee you that this is such a fun game and if you're interested in this type of game or in Greek mythology this is definitely worth the time.

I can also vouch and i still dislike several supergiant games for being really just mediocre to me, this is one of the best roguelikes i have ever played with a nice touch of personas friendship systems

To anyone on the fence, just get it. You will NOT be disappointed. Personally, I've never been into the roguelike playstyle, as it gets too boring too quick. But Hades is truly special, with something there for every type of gamer. Support this game and their developers, I think it's safe to say they have raised the bar with this game.
I have never played this kind of games, would you recommend it? I play all kinds of games, but I´m specially fond of action RPGs.

The one thing I love about this game that sets it apart from other roguelits to me is how dying actually progresses not just the story but the world building with the characters and how u grow your character. How the bosses will change patterns based on if u beat them or not or if you are using a different weapon. In a way it actually encourages u to die to learn more.
This feels like if Diablo had a son and his son is now a teenager with an attitude.
I mean, this is litterally the plot of the game

Warning do not get this game, it is too addicting. With exhilarating combat, beautifully done art direction, wide variety of enemies, lovable and well written characters, impeccable voice acting, an intriguing story, diverse power ups, and even if you die the music urges you on for just one more go. In a nutshell this game is a masterpiece, and I have not slept in 32 hours.

I usually am not very fond of rogue like games either but this is an absurdly good one especially if you are into action games. The controls feel snappy and the many upgrade systems and collectables will keep you playing for hours on end. It is very good and right now also 20% discount in the eShop
*Edit: and everything is voiced and done very well. Feels like they really liked voicing this game and it shows. I love all the lines and the voices that are given to them. I just started playing today but this feels like a game that is worth more then the 25 euro they ask for it.
Supergiant Games only make masterpieces. Well, not exactly, they all are not perfect, but Bastion, Transistor, Pyre and Hades are all amazing games that are well-made, fun to play and have strong themes and story. Regardless of genre.
I had that same feeling as well, but when I tried the studio's first game Bastion, I had an amazing experience.
This has 23,000 reviews that average Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam. Safe to say this is an amazing game.

I have yet to see any negativity on the game to be honest. The only complaint I have seen or rather mentioned is the very slight dip in frames in some of the rare rooms filled with enemies and that's barely noticeable to me on switch. This game is definitely one of my favorites this year. Really hope it gets recognition it deserves.
Lc3 totally. One of my favs this year too. Switch performance is still solid but it’s perfect on pc even with a lower spec system.
Greek mythology? Alright, ya got me.
And it is rather well handled, while being more mild about its brutality compared to the original myths.

I spend 5 minutes petting Cerberus after every death.
Pros: Lots of pets
Cons: Can't pet other heads. Cerby sometimes isn't there. :(

I think the contextual dialogue says that if you pet any more/other head(s), Cerberus _will_ murder you. And that will make both Zag and Cerberus sad.

@@garr_inc I believe he says "You don't like it when I pet your other heads" or something to that effect. He also says something along the lines of "Just don't bite me if I don't pet your other heads", so it is not a given that Cerberus actually would get mad.
That is if I remember the dialogue correctly. And even then it is still possible and heavily implied.

The hype is real. Combat feels great. Each run is different thanks to the boons and level layout. The progression system makes the death sting a little less. The artwork and voice acting is amazing. And the music slaps. This game is so badass. If you’re on the fence just get it.

adambunion i just said screw it and bought it. It runs fine. A little scaled down on the visuals, and SLIGHT framerate drops during the heavy fights. Thats to be expected tho for switch. And they may be able to patch it. You should buy it even if you are remotely interested.

I've played so many games but this one is at the top. Truly amazing work and passion was put into this game.
I can't explain how good the story and voice acting is in the game. It's incredible honestly. And the gameplay itself is ridiculously fun!
I freaking love the voice-acting and character designs in this one. Sign me up!

The problem with Hades and Risk of Rain 2 is that after playing them, other roguelikes don't hit the same. Even Dead Cells now feels lacking when compared to Hades.
Yes ror2 is just soo good, i played 200hrs already, i played a bit when it was free weekend and ended up buying it.
I think that's because Hades has permanent power upgrades, so that death feels normal. If you die in Dead Cells it makes you regret your life decision.
I have bought it spontanously on Sunday when I saw a magazine review online. It´s actually my first dungeon crawler of that type. I love the art style, I love the gameplay, I love the overall play development and it´s very addictive. The background story is one kind of it´s own and it has a good humour, too. Buy it, people.
This game is a heart-song for everything you'd like a game to be. Funny, great music, BEAUTIFUL DESIGN (so pretty!), thoughtful gameplay mechanics, and intentional with its community-based feedback. Somehow with hours and hours of playthroughs, my s.o. and myself are still completely in love with this game and find it hard to want to play anything else. I'm so proud of their team for completing such an incredible game that will bring folks so much joy. I highly recommend trying this game, it sure has brought my family a lot of fun memories and I'm excited that more people will get a chance to experience some of the magic this game creates.

-each run always have different variation because random boon
-the only game where death doesn't make me angry

Bought and am downloading this game right now as I type this comment out. The trailer was awesome but it's the comments that sold me. This many people saying this game is so good makes me HAVE to try it out. Wish me luck everyone! I have the next week of work off so maybe this will make it fly by

@Candy It was worth it. I got it for less than 10 bucks and I spent a few nights playing the heck out of it. Was happy with it. Don't be afraid to die though. Only advice

As someone who has a Macbook, I've been following this game and been unable to play it for two years straight. I can't begin to convey my excitement. Everything Supergiant makes is pure gold and I adore anything Greek mythology related, this is going to be incredible!
Game has some of the best voice acting out there. That alone, is a very, very big plus.

I got this game for Christmas yesterday and it is SO addictive. I was uncertain, as this isn't my usual genre of game, but it is in my top five Switch games (I own over 30.)

This game is so good. I got it as soon as it launched on the Switch and I haven’t been able to put it down since.
I’ve played and completed every supergiant game. I’ve liked all of them. I love Hades.
I’m a big fan of gameplay and story blending. And so far, they’ve nailed it. I will be coming back to this one the same way I come back to Dead Cells and Into the Breach.
Took me some time to realize this was made by the people who made bastion.

I've never played games like this but after all the reviews and hype I decided to give it a try since it's on sale. I played it for 5 hours straight! This game is great! Got me hooked.
Supergiant got me into iso roguelikes. I can't imagine how are they going to top this, but I'm sure they'll find a way.
Out of all of this awesomeness it was giving Cerberus a scritch that has me really leaning toward going through with the purchase.
Transistor was on sale in the eshop and I randomly picked it up. I delayed playing it but when I finally did I was struck by the vision of the developers, the characters, the voice acting, the music, the level design and the gameplay. Supergiant games is the real deal. I will eventually pick this one up when I complete more of my switch library of games.
This is worth putting the others on hold for now

I had only checked reviews from people I follow, and they already got me pretty interested in the game. After watching this trailer, I was never so sure that I had to buy this!
Once i saw the trailer, I was like if this is a supergiant game I'm getting it without hesitation. They got bangers like bastion, transistor, and pyre. Great story,gameplay, and great soundtrack. Game should be amamzing.

Wow. I've this game on PC and I don't see any big difference from it and this port. Excellent job, SuperGiant. And the game is AMAZING (well, they always delivery). I can't recommend enough. For me, it's the best game from Supergiant.

Some parts of the map remind me of a listen to the smash bros ultimate story map, I mean with art well defined in your way, very good., by the trailer the music is well crafted in the sense of what the game wants to go through.
