So the game looks amazing, loving the fact that all the Pikmin types are back. But why no 2 player main campaign? That was honestly one of Pikmin 3 Deluxe's greatest contributions to the franchise. I hope it comes back in an update otherwise I'll be very sad to see it go.

Playing Pikmin 3 with my wife was one of the biggest appeals and one of the main reasons I was looking forward to this one.
I think I'd still enjoy this game but it's a massive disappointment for me to be honest.
Glad I’m not the only one. I have been so excited for months after playing pikmin 3 deluxe co-op story with my girl, and i’m honestly pretty let down….why would they make such a great advancement, just to rip it away? i’m hopefully they may add it one day but it took likr 6 years for then to add it to pikmin 3….. :(

yes all nine type pikmin in fourth game series and clamper and goolix 3:11 and 6:37 from pikmin 1 have both return along with armor cannon beetle 3:15 and 6:38
I can't believe how BIG all of the maps seem! They look more colossal than all of the other games combined!
Seems like they're not only bigger in size, but the lower camera angle adds to the small perspective since we actually get to see things tower over us

I've been a Pikmin fan since I was young and I am so excited for this game! It's a delight to finally see Pikmin 4
Its all what my 8 year old me wished for but didnt get in Pikmin 3
I loved this franchise ever since I saw the teaser on luigis mansion on the game cube. Saw that trailer for pikmin 1 and said I need to try this game. Got it and got so sad when I lost my first pikmin that I named bob... I was about 5. I never beat the game. 4 years later I watched a walkthru and re fell in love with the game and I finally beat it. Now I've played em all. Beat em all and can't wait to reunite with Bob and all my pikmin buddies and hopefully not kill em all... (wing pikmin are the cutest, I'll die on that hill(unless they aren't showing the cutest one in pikmin 4 yet))

I'm glad lots of people are finally getting to experience Pikmin. I bought the original game on release and it blew my young mind at the time.
I kinda was expecting after all this time the graphics would look better than they do. They just kinda seem meh from like 20 years ago when I played both of the first two games on gamecube I mean this isn't that much of a leap if I'm being honest...

@WaterspoutsOfTheDeep I think you just struggle with communication. It sounds like you're judging the game by its graphics, which you think seems outdated.
@@WaterspoutsOfTheDeep I mean, it's the law of diminishing returns. So long as the graphics are serviceable I don't care much. Pikmin 1 was pretty advanced (I felt) for the time it released in terms of visuals, but the series has always been standout for the interesting enemy types and level aesthetics more than actual graphical fidelity. 20 years later things aren't much different. Art style is more important than the nuts and bolts of the engine or whatever.
While I am absolutely going to love this game. 2 Player coop in 3 is absolutely one of the best things ever to me. And coop challenge mode in 2 was also spectacular.
My guess it's harder to implement with the rewind features in
@deanmalto1386 probably but the rewind feature seems pretty dumb since they already a redo a previous day feature. Removing co-op to add a feature that essentially already existed seems like a huge backstep.
looks like 2p mode in single player is limited to the rock throwing, but they have the 2p challenge mode stuff is in.
@@deanmalto1386I think it’s more that oatchi would be the second player as you don’t have any other captains and with the ability to ride on oatchi that might be hard to implement. In Pikmin 3 you couldn’t whistle captains controlled by the other player so problems like that could happen with oatchi. Anyway yeah it’s disappointing that the co op isn’t that good

This pikmin looks amazing. It has all of the features every previous pikmin had and more. Every type of pikmin as well and underwater exploration. Second best Nintendo game this year right up there with TOTK.

This is the sort of "my dream Pikmin game" you would see on the internet by someone that has completely unrealistic expectations in every way, except... it's REAL.
This is absolutely insane.
I just played the demo and holy crap, there seems like a lot to do and the maps are huge plus caves. Definitely gonna be the best pikmin game by far

Just finished the demo and wow this game is incredible. They really thought of everything in terms of quality of life. Every time I thought I had seen everything, it threw something new at me. This very well might trump Pikmin 2 as my favorite Pikmin game. Absolutely love this series

When I saw that the Man At Legs was coming back, my mind began racing out of excitement because it was my favorite boss from pikmin 2 because of how insane the concept is, and it'll look even better with the new graphics, so I'm really hyped now!

Beat the first 2 coop with my lil bro thanks to mods. Thought for sure 4 would be coop as well since 3 had it. Seems we can't beat the series together unless I wait for another talented modder to bless me. Bummer, I've tried to play Pikmin solo but co-op just makes this series infinitely better.

I AM SO HYPED! Only problem I have with this game is the Co-op, I would've loved to play 2 explorers with my little brother.
Same i was never really fond of the mario galaxy like Co-op would have preferred something like Pikmin 3 me and my brother had a blast with that.
I do hope they bring it back and take it a step further and have online multiplayer so u don't have to share a screen.

I'm very disappointed that the story mode doesn't have true co-op like 3 Deluxe did. Playing that with a friend was probably my favorite experience with the franchise. The demo was still loads of fun, and I fully expect this to be my game of the year.

This game looks great the only things I’m skeptical about are the two players mode being a downgrade of pikmin 3 deluxe and how you can only have three types in you’re group at once
I've also noticed that the amount of Pikmin out on the field also seems lower. No clips have anywhere near 100, so I'm a little concerned.
All the footage was in early areas, and I’m pretty sure you can upgrade it
Probably now you will have to unlock the skill to use 100 and uso more types at once

Not the best multi player mode, but I'd be darned if I said you can't abuse the crap out of it.

Pikmins : AAAAAAAH !
My only concern about the game is Oatchi seems like it performs actions that Pikmin already did. We see him breaking obstacles down, something the rock Pikmin did. We see him carrying the team across water, something that the new ice Pikmin were supposed to do. Does this mean he steals their thunder? I'm all for new things being added, but additions need to serve a mechanical purpose. You can't just say "here's a cute dog" and expect it to work out.
Regardless, I'm still getting the game and I'm sure it'll be great. I remember thinking that Pikmin 3 looked incredible on Wii U, but by any measure this one looks even better.
I was concerned about that but after playing the demo I really like oatchi. He doesn't have many powers at first and they specifically designed the maps/caves to limit his power. For example cages with small gaps pikmin can pass through but oatchi can't. Or ledges you can throw pikmin on but you obviously can't throw the dog. He really smooths out the gameplay though since he can just carry your pikmin so you don't have to worry about 1-2 pikmin getting randomly lost or you being 1 pikmin short of carrying something and having to go back for more
tl;dr He's pretty strong but he also has weaknesses

I've been a fan of this series since discovering the Wii ports back when I was a little girl.
Seeing it grow for the better warms my heart. This looks like such a blast to play and it looks so expansive with a lot of story.

@@ootfan7882 I think I got hold of mine in 2009 or something? It just makes me feel so old looking back at how this was more than 10 years ago...but the experiences I had with both Wii ports were incredible. Really hoping 4 gives me the same feeling.

Rewinding time is a pretty nice quality of life update; as someone who tries to go through the games without losing any (or at least a minimal number of) Pikmin, this will be far better than having to reset the whole day to try again!

It's still definitely post apocalypse... if it wasn't, where would all the humans be? We wouldn't just... leave our houses on the planet, untouched, leaving all our stuff in there. I assume it's a nuclear or biological (ie disease) scenario and enough time passed that nature recovered?
Let's be honest.. the lore is not the best part of Pikmin (specially not after that gold alien God).
It's its core mechanics and simplicity in exploration and combat.

I’m saddened that full on co-op isn’t in the game, but the rock thing is neat. The practice mode with the Piklopedia is very good too. Rewind is also a cool addition.

@@Xenorvya I was actually of the same mind as you regarding the new rewind option when I saw it. But, I surprisingly found it really useful as I played the demo for 4 and I've come to like the rewind option now because of that. No, I didn't use the rewind option to save any pikmin that were killed by monsters, I actually used it to get myself off of an island like area after having made a series of mistakes with my pikmin placement and gotten myself and my pikmin stuck on the island with no other option but to either drown my pikmin and grab the 10 pikmin I needed or waste the rest of my half day by just ending the stage there. It was then that I remembered the rewind option and it quite literally saved me the heartache of having to drown 20 or so of my yellow pikmins lives lol.

As someone that has Pikmin 2 as his favorite game ever you better believe that this is thr Pikmin ive been dreaming 4 would be all these years. I couldn't be more hyped for this game. My biggest gripe sadly is the lack of true co-op like in 3 deluxe. Such a weird and bad decision honestly. Dandori battle also is fun but not as fun as thr other games' battle modes. Still everything else about it is absolutely perfect. I need this game NOW

So bosses and caves are back, purples and whites are back, and no day timer in caves. Pikmin 2 is one of my favorite games of all time.. So im happy to see more of this.
Reportedly time does pass while in caves, but at about a tenth of the normal rate, meaning you can spend at least 2 hours in a cave if you get there at the start of the day

Not having true co-op like Pikmin 3 is kind of a bummer, BUT the game also looks way more ambitious graphically and in terms of gameplay so I can’t complain. Can’t wait!
Haven't played Pikmin since the second one came out ages ago.
Decided to grab the demo of this off the eshop and after playing through the first day I can wholeheartedly say this game is gonna be great. It's got the cute charm, the visual enticement, the characters are likeable and it stays pretty true to how Pikmin 1 and 2 felt to me. The freedom of not having a day or debt counter is cool, and so far I love it.
I still have to push through the second day before the demo is over and I already feel like it's a must have. Such a different direction from what I've previously played this year.

seeing Empress and Emperor Bulblax again is amazing, and seeing the Man At Legs was a kick to the face, this game is shaping up to be fantastic and I can't wait for it
Seeing the Emperor Bulblax have a new attack that makes Pikmin panic (much like the mitites) is about to make me cry man I had enough trouble with that thing in Pikmin 1

Honestly the original pikmin scared me because as a child, playing a game with a time limit is stressful

It’s been over a decade - can we ditch the Mario Galaxy style of co-op in games that absolutely could have a better implementation of multiplayer?
Its like they put everything from every other Pikmin into one game and then added even more on top of that, Honestly looks amazing and cant wait to get my hands on it!
I've never played pikmin (besides a few minutes of 3's demo) but I'm really happy it's getting the recognition it deserves.
So hyped for this. So far it looks like the game will be amazing! So glad they’re bringing back all the old Pikmin while introducing new ones and the Piklopedia returning is also greatly appreciated.
