Reading thru the comments, makes me realize I am not the only one that wants to experience this game for the first time again. Here’s hoping the sequel will be able to continue that feeling after playing it. This game is just quite simply the precipice of what a game should be. Every person can play this game their own way. And that is where it’s greatness lies. It doesn’t hold your hand or tries to “subvert” your expectations. The creators know what we fans want. And. They deliver it in spades. I’m coming to tears just writing this. And. The best pet. I don’t feel the least bit embarrassed. Im a 48 year old man. Who grew up and lived thru the Atari age thinking. It can’t ever get better. Than. A little card company came along. And who could know. They would one day create the greatest game ever. In my humble opinion. I say the sequel does not have top it. Just continue it.
That's beautiful.💞I'm 33 and it has moved me to tears too. I played games since the N64, and Sega Mastersystem. My neighbour let me use the Atari a little bit and the SNES but I'm most familiar with Nintendo systems N64 onwards.
I've played 500 hours on this game and also STILL play faithfully the entire 5yrs. I took 1yr off during that time as I was all gamed out - but I haven't really found any other game I liked more during this time.
In my videos I take people on guided horseback tours around this world. I make stories and read them as we travel around Hyrule. My latest BOTW is my best, particularly as the video comes together towards the second half. It's immersion and storytelling.
I'd love you to watch and "join" the tours. Anyone who comments or asks for a particular horse or meal I will make sure next video to include that on our trip.
I make these videos to connect to other people virtually.
I'm two weeks into it after me and my wife bought a Switch at Christmas. All I can say is that this game is utterly amazing. I've been gaming since 1986 and this is up there, maybe even the best single player experiences I've ever had. I'm not one for hyperbole but this game deserves to be on the Mt Rushmore of games.
of COURSE the sequel will do that to you. I think we’re all in for a real tasty treat.
To people who have played Ocarina of Time back in the 90s…. This will be the Majoras Mask to BotW. And lets just say Majoras Mask was mind bending and the atmosphere was no where near OOT. It was almost like a fever dream!

Imagine being 50 years old and crying for a game. Go outside and touch some grass.
This game was truly worthy of the Game of the Year title. It has set the bar impossibly high for the sequel, but I believe the developers are capable of reaching that bar. I cannot wait until BOTW 2.

People complaining about graphics just need to shut up for once. Its called an art style, and people don't have to like it.
Yes I don't want any people going rigid like they did last time!
The graphics looks really good, yet graphics aren't all that matter, I mean look at Xenoblade Chronicles X, that didn't have the greatest graphics, yet that still turned out to be one of the best games of 2015

For real this game brings me nostalgia that I never had before 😭
How could anyone say this game is overrated? It is one of those rare games that can engage every emotion out of its players.
Except…it doesn’t, really. I can’t say there was a single time when I felt genuinely scared, sad, or concerned for a character. These might sound like strange emotions to want to feel, but games like twilight Princess and Majoras mask cover the full spectrum of emotions so much better.
@@Galaxia_EX I agree that the other games do it better, but BotW has made me feel all the emotions you listed
@@Galaxia_EX I actually agree. BotW wasn't it for me unfortunately. Characters were super flat and nothing felt as genuine somehow.
@@im_Spade_ i got it the day it came out but didn't really get into the game until 2 years after. its my second favorite zelda game. My first is Ocarina of Time but probably just bc of nostalgia
@@Galaxia_EX I totally agree. Breath of the Wild is a really good game, but not good enough to make #1 on like every best games list. All "characters" are more or less cardboard cutouts.
Possibly the most honest game trailer ever released.
- Entirely in-engine, which is refreshing in a world where games are often shown off as entirely pre-rendered cutscenes designed to look as epic as possible with no semblance of gameplay whatsoever.
- Contains almost an entire minute of just panning over wide landscapes while playing ambient sounds and the odd piano note, which is very much representative of the atmosphere of the final game.
- Much of the trailer is spent just going over basic gameplay features that will end up being mundane mechanics you'll see for the entire game - eg. magnesis, stasis, cooking, the ability to climb anything, etc.
- A huge portion of the footage is just from the great plateau.
- Trailer is in 720p, which is actually a lower resolution than the final Switch version, which is what most people will end up playing.
This is pretty much the opposite of what developers typically do to hype a game up, but somehow Nintendo managed to show off this game in the most basic and honest possible way and it was still enough to hype people up for it. It's nice to see a game that stands on its own two feet based on its own merits and not some pre-rendered cutscene designed to hype people up as much as possible with a bunch of empty promises.
Underrated comment. Botw will go down on history as one of the best games ever created
i mean it being a console zelda probably helped a lot
@@mihirmodi underrated reply to a reply
Probably because the game itself is so good. The more you play it, the more you like it. It's probably still the best Switch game at the moment.

All the people complaining about graphics is just Wind Waker repeating itself. I know Sony and Microsoft are pushing great graphics but Nintendo's philosophy has mainly been:
Gameplay > Graphics
Its not suppose to look mega realistic, like the other consoles are trying hard to push, its a fun cartoon game that's real entertainment is its fun adventure, open world, and puzzles. Not these basic shooters that have been coming out lately
+Tro Lol its not real raced yet so it can always improve

I still think this trailer is superior to the 2017 one. Not only because I love the main theme but it captures better what Botw is about: a vast world to explore with beautiful landscapes, the sounds of nature and a minimalist and peaceful music
It's the perfect trailer. It shows you exactly what the game is and the feelings behind playing it. On top of that, it gave away nothing of value so that the player can experience everything first-hand. I came to rewatch this after finally watching the TotL trailers and man, they forgot how to show enough but not too much.
@@JhoTerra Finally someone who gets it! The music and cinematic shots are supposed to make the viewer feel the sorrow of a kingdom in ruins but also the tranquility of exploring the nature that comes with it. The music to me feels like it transitions to exploring nature then going on an epic adventure to save Hyrule.
Never in my life have I played a game so brilliant as this. The music, especially being on top of the towers, resonates with me so deeply. This game is sacred to me.
Ever since my first playthrough, it's become an instinctive ritual to brace myself for the tower access theme. It's easily one of the most satisfying tunes of the entire game. To hear that after the trial of making it to the top...that was the real reward, not the map information.

People are dopes. This is basically Wind Waker all over again, but once Wind Waker came out, people stopped bitching about the graphics and loved it for what it is. So to that I say: don't judge a game by it's graphics until you actually play the game. It could be the best thing you play, or it could be crap. You never know until you try.
Also, haven't people been asking for a more open world Zelda and voice acting? Can't make everyone happy, I guess.

Whats absolutely incredible about this trailer/the game itself is that, in most trailers like this, they're just animations that aren't anything close to the actual gameplay. Who’s here after the 2019 e3 presentation 😬 so hyped for the next Zelda botw game
Bryan Nava we are all hyped
We all are, Knowing Nintendo it will be great
IKR
How rebuilt do you guys think Hyrule is going to be?
Gordon Ramsay Fan 327 honestly I don’t know
2:19
That swell in the music as the Talus stands and Link draw his word and shield always gives me goosebumps, the whole trailer does.
I loved this game, and I think I still love it so much even as I play the new game
Do you know the name of this song? I randomly hum it all the time 🥹
Now that we near the release of Tears of the Kingdom, I have to say, this is probably my favorite of the trailers for Breath of the Wild. The story trailer is amazing in its own right, but the sheer wonder that this trailer beholds is something that always makes me want to pick up the game again and get lost in the beautiful world of Hyrule.
"This doesn't look like a Zelda game" People all complaining about that, but before this they complained about Nintendo always doing the same thing, no pleasing you people. I think this looks amazing, and I'm very excited to get my hands on it.
Yeah their ignorant loss Hey
People clearly haven't play the original Zelda. This is way more what Zelda was meant to be, based on how the series started. I'm super excited for this game!
Well, I never thought that every Zelda game was similar to each other - but the other way round. For me, Nintendo always achieved to make each game of the series pretty unique and innovative, and that's why I'm a great fan of Zelda series. And this trailer pleases me a lot.
or you're talking about two different types of people.
A bit Skyrim-ishy. :3 Or Skyrim was a bit Zelda-ishy.
The Legend of Zelda: Death of the Wallet
The Legend of Zelda: Death of my Social Life
The legend of Zelda: Virgin for life
couldnt you say that about any game?
javo bean if you count all the dlc packs and ammibos
(unenthusiastically) hurrah for amiibos. The bane of the wallet and the spoiling of the rich...
(Congrats amiibo on pretty much partnering on Nintendo btw...)
7 years ago, feels like at least 3 years ago
So we have like... less than a month till tears. so if u see this within that timespan, cool.
Had to come back and compare final trailers
I played this game during the pandemic lockdown, it used to be so depressing staying put at home away from the world for months. I generally didn't enjoy open-world games due to their non-linear story, and I had never played any Zelda game before, but I decided to give this a shot nonetheless. The first few hours were okay, but before I knew it I didn't even realize how hooked I was to its beautiful world. Literally, there are so many secrets, so much to do, so many little villages that legit felt like home, the warm music around certain parts, and the joy of finding the tents of travelers at unexpected places. I cannot tell you how this game saved me from depression during the lockdown, and how I still haven't found a replacement to this epic.
Hope this encourages you to play other Zelda games! I recommend Majora's Mask or Skyward Sword.
same here. I purchased BOTW during the first lockdown in my country. Second Zelda game I played in my life, after Twilight Princess
Try other Zelda games, none of them are nearly as open as this one, but the puzzles, dungeons, bosses and story are much better in them in my opinion, plus they have a pretty big focus on exploration too. They might fill the void left behind by finishing this game.
I recommend links awakening, ocarina of time, a link between worlds, and any hyrule warriors game. There's also twilight princess, skyward sword, majora's mask, wind waker, a link to the past, and minish cap. Some are on switch like skyward sword and links awakening.
There are some that are multiplayer like the four swords games and cadence of hyrule crypt of the necromancer featuring the legend of Zelda.
Sorry for rambling on about Zelda games lol
You HAVE to try Ocarina Of Time. That is my all time favorite Zelda game. I have played through it probably more than a dozen times. The open world and different things you can do and all the different villages you can visit are just amazing.
@@adampowell8804 the open world doesn't hold up to today's standards, since it's just a large field with sub areas, but everything else you just said is incredibly true.
Why are they calling it Breath of the Wild?
It should be called Game of the Year
The Legend of Zelda: breath of best game of the year
Nice one.
I've never played a single Zelda game in my life. From my perspective, this looks pretty good. But seriously, take your nostalgia goggles off.
You've never played a Zelda game? You seriously have no idea just how brilliant these games are. I have no doubt that this game will get many game of the year awards.
It is probably going to be my Game of the Decade
Here after tears of kingdom final trailer
Every time I watch this trailer, it never fails to make me tear up. The music, scenery, story, mechanics, everything... out of all the LoZ I've played, or rather the games I've played in my entire life so far, this has been by far one of the best gaming experiences.
And now, it's 2022. BOTW 2 will be released this year, and I absolutely cannot wait to breathe in this wild world again.
Hehe
I love people saying that this isn't Zelda.
Zelda 1 was open world too, folks.
I know! I don't mind too much, I thinking it will be like Wind-Waker, but more side quests like Majora's Mask, plus instead of lots of plain old waves and water, everything will be detailed. I just hope there is the green tunic! I haven't seen proof of it yet.
+Bla Bla hope there's side quests but aside from collection & the shrine stuff it doesn't look like likely- only a couple of NPCs and no villages :(
From the begining they always wanted to have it be open world, but the console limitations prevented that. This is a true Legend of Zelda game.
Zelda OOT was pretty much open world, too. Just because it's open world doesn't mean it can't have story.
I think we can expect a story of some sort, like a corrupted hyrule in need of a hero, since the "Guardians" are corrupted, and it seems that the Hyrule castle has been corrupted two, with the surrounding veil.
link finally gets armour.
that's all I've ever wanted
Well good for you
I just hope it doesn't take all your money before and after putting it on.
+HK Kobayashi What do you mean?
to be fair, some of the games show a chain vest underneath his tunic, at least for his adult versions
+HK Kobayashi damn you twilight princess and your magic armor
And now TOTK is right around the corner. Savor every moment friends.
A week after totk released people seem to already forget how big and impactful botw was. Botw walked so totk could run, never forget that its thanks to this masterpiece we got totk
Honestly I think no company will ever come even remotely close to the masterpieces that Nintendo creates. Their (major) games are consistently fun or amazing. I believe that gameplay and music > graphics in every case.
I think Naughty Dog is right up there with them, but they're very different companies so I won't say anything is necessarily better about either one. Nintendo is definitely one of the greats, no doubt about that, it's just not the only one imo.
Therealchris929 Lol I’m a huge Nintendo fan but I would really like to play those games. Owning more than one console is expensive though. I had playstation 1&2 but never an Xbox.
Therealchris929 Lol That sounds like a pretty good deal especially from gamestop. Switch is a great system. But I wish I could play old school playstation games. Twisted metal, bloody roar, and marvel vs capcom were pretty good games.
@@2011zeldafan Twisted Metal was awesome. I just want a PS4 to play Sekiro lol but any GTA game would be good as well
Many indie games are proof of that inequation
Its weird going back to early trailers after pouring a couple hundred hours into the final game. You notice the subtle differences here and there, and you get those weird memories of being exited for the day you finally get to play it. You recall all the weird speculation that was floating around at the time. Its just fun to remember and think about.
SAME DUDE

SAME
Atlas the trailer music not in the game
Ayden Smith It's the Final Boss Theme
TheMothMonster It is indeed. I remember watching the all the trailers the night before release. Then I woke up at like 9 and hunted for switches until 12. It was like a scavenger hunt. I finally found one at Walmart. Then I got some donuts for “breakfast”. I was literally shaking and felt nauseous while eating. I rushed home and played it all day. It was great.
6 years later and still the best game I have ever played. The music, the gameplay, the progression. Every aspect is perfection❤️
So many memories…
