Joker's inclusion in Smash is what got me into Persona 5 and I've played it on PS4 and loved it a lot and thought it would be really cool of they could port it over to the Nintendo Switch, so me and other fans could play it on the go, but I thought that would never happen because of how big the game was and now look where we are right now and not only that, but they're also porting over Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, which gives me a chance to play them now that they're on the Nintendo Switch.

@@joeyquintero9681 when P4G comes to Switch you should play it. Especially if you go in blind. Got it on Steam not blind but the parts I was blind to was new stuff in Golden and not the original and I still had tons of fun

Honestly, I wish it was Persona 3 Fes with Portable's battle system. For anyone unaware, in the original P3 and Fes, you can't control your party, only give strategies but portable fixed that. The thing is though, Portable is a lot more constricting story-wise as you can't explore in a 3D environment and that makes it feel more like a visual novel when not exploring the main dungeon. There's also the fact that Portable doesn't have the extra story epilogue that Fes had, even though Portable released afterwards.
Again, portable did add improvements for the battle system, added a female MC, and other small improvements, but Persona is known for being a heavy story-based game series and Portable's story-telling and story content compared to Fes makes Fes the easy choice out of the two.
Honestly I'm grabbing 3 on steam and maybe one day somebody will mod the FES design over it. Also I'm one of the 4 people in the universe that likes the tactics system.

I like how you list the epilogue as a positive addition
The visual novel cutscenes and lack of 3D environments outside Tartarus sucks, but the gameplay improvements more than makes up for the shortcomings. FES is a very punishing game for newcomers due to the lack of controllable party members, party members getting tired while exploring Tartarus, skills learned by Personas being random, and the jealously system making it a pain to level up female classmate social links. Portable fixed many of the problems that plagued earlier Persona 3 and made it more accessible. Female MC is a much more interesting character than Male MC with better dialogue and better social links (including social links with male party members). I don't think The Answer is worth playing. Too much grinding and lacks the social elements that made the series famous. Being able to control party members is also a big deal.
sorry, fem mc actually fleshes out the story waaaay more with her social links (male party member social links) as well as expands on the pharos social link and lore

Persona 5, 4 and 3 are finally coming to Nintendo Switch, I'm so excited. I loved all of these games and they have really good music. Now the last thing left on my checklist is remakes of Persona 1 and 2.

@@tremorchrist Get it on Steam. You can play it portably on the Steam Deck. Switch will play P5 at like 720p with inconsistent 30fps while the Steam Deck will easily play this at fluid 60fps.

Oh right. There isnt a chronological order in the series, you can play which game you prefer for first. I really raccomend you persona 5 royal, the others are FANTASTIC but in my personal opinion persona 5 is a little bit better and maybe a little bit more firendly to the new players
@@Revolver.Otacon don't, if they play 5 first, it would be jarring to play 3 and 4. Personally, Id recommend playing 4 first because it's a bit more fun than 3. 3 is a bit more on the depressing side but honestly has the better story out of the two. Then play 5 last, it will be pretty satisfying knowing the improvements.

It’s been a long wait since 2016, but we’re here at last 😁 6 years of hoping and we’re finally getting it on Switch!! Was fully prepared to buy it on Xbox, with the ball in Nintendo’s court, but now I’ll definitely be buying the Switch versions of all three of these games!
It's gonna be on xbox game pass tho so you wouldn't have to buy it unless you wanted to play on the go

I know there was the every other console announcement thing the other week which is great for giving loads of others a means of playing these games but Switch easily gave me the most hype just cuz being able to play these games I love in such a convenient form factor is just amazing regardless of if you’ve been burnt out by the joke.

@@patogordo1385 I was about to comment it's not the FES version. I did a quick google search, and it's even worse than I thought. No animed cutscenes and navigating the different locations is done through menu's.

ever since joker appeared on smash, i’ve been such a huge fan of the persona series but i never got the chance to play them bc i don’t own a playstation. i even bought persona 5 strikers and i was honestly happy with it too even if it wasn’t a main series title. but THIS. i haven’t been this excited and overjoyed to play a game in SO long!!! i’m extremely happy to be able to play the persona series now on the switch!!!!

This will actually be my 3rd time with the game.
The first was with the vanilla in very early 2020, and then Royal in June of that year.
Beas Vanilla max confidant, and beat the 5th Palace in Royal before dropping it around August of that year when I messed up the guide I was using.
And yes I bought a PS4 specifically for P5, and I'm glad I didn't shill out the money for a Vita with P4G.
Seems I'm still going to have to find a working PS2 and a used copy of P3 FES though.
I'm so excited for P5 I can hardly stand it! Everyone says it's one of the best JRPGs out there and as a Nintendo only guy, I've been really interested ever since they put Joker in smash. Cant wait to spend 100 hours getting lost in it. Thank you so so much for all the work bringing it to switch!

Make sure you go in as blind as possible. There’s alot of stupid toxic mindsets surrounding this game and you don’t need to be dragged into any of that. I ignored all of that and I was better for it.
If you’ve played an rpg before you should have little trouble getting the basics of gameplay too.

I’m so excited for Persona 3 Portable coming to Nintendo Switch! I have both a PS4 and a Nintendo Switch, but it feels Switch is my main console. Back when Persona 4 Golden was announced for Steam, I was about to buy a PS Vita to play both P3P and P4G. Luckily, those plans were cancelled in 2020 after P4G came to Steam.
Persona 4 golden really opened me up to this amazing series.

Today marks one year since this dropped. I remember being so excited when I saw that these games were finally coming to a Nintendo platform, and I’d say my excitement was justified, as now P5R is one of my favorite video games I’ve ever played. Still haven’t finished P3P or started P4G yet though, but I’ll get around to that eventually!
Let’s face it folks: they could have brought P3P and P4G to the Switch whenever. It was P5R that was holding them back since Royal has a different engine than Strikers

It has been 6 years since the original Persona 5 release on PS4. Maybe Atlus had an exclusivity contract with the PlayStation that expired or something. I can't think of another reason why it took them so long since there was a huge demand for Persona 5 on the Switch.

I bought and played through P5 and P5R on PS4. I'm getting Royal on Steam and buying the Switch physical version. Amazing game, as is 4G, and i can't wait for other people to finally play them. I'm looking forward to finally play 3 myself next year.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if P5R runs well on Switch. SMTV does have its dips here and there, but the experience was quite smooth overall. And Monster Hunter Rise runs amazing on Switch as it's one of the games that stays primarily within the locked 30 FPS range (despite so much going on). Arguably, the aforementioned imo are more demanding than P5, so I can't see why it couldn't perform just as well.
People forget that Persona 5 is a PS3 game, and Royal uses the same engine
P5 is from the PS3, so it should run fine.

You guys'll love it. Persona 3 is my favorite in the series by far. The plot twists are insane. Persona 5 is actually my least favorite in the series. But don't let that sway you from playing through 5. I do recommend starting with 3 tho. There are some references and call backs in the other games that you won't get unless you play 3 first. But nothing major actually. You can still start each journey anywhere. The stories aren't connected. Only the fighting games and spin offs are.

I got a Switch OLED back in December, I’ve never played any of the Persona games before but I wanna try something new, seeing this really makes me wanna try it out. I like the art style and the music is really good.

Persona 5 was on the PS3. The additions in Royal did not add any graphical intensity that the Switch couldn't handle.
I play Persona for the virtual novel elements. I really want to feel good with virtual friends in a comfortable atmosphere.

if I was into RPGs of any kind outside of Pokemon I'd probably pick this up but I just I'm good at this point this is such a long game I'm good I'm happy for those that are finally going to be able to sink their teeth into this tho
Trust me dude, give it a shot. You won't regret it.
I know the length may seem intimidating but you won't notice it when you play trust me, and so long as you have a basic understanding of how rpg's work you'll pick up the mechanics of the game in no time. I did'nt play any persona game until 5 royal came out but I got the hang of it easily.

I might pick up P3P and P4G on sale though since they're digital only.
I'm mostly excited about P3 portable which is the only Persona game I haven't played besides 1 and 2 but I doubt we'll be getting a port for those anytime soon. It's good that atlus is giving Nintendo fans a chance to play some of these gems
I'm heartbroken they didn't add back the 2D cutscenes to the P3P port, but I'm very happy a new generation will be able to experience such an amazing game.
For those who have never played any of the Persona games, Persona 4 has the best mix of gameplay and writing. Persona 5 has the best gameplay, and it is a tossup if you consider 3 or 4 to have the better story. Most people pretty much agree that you pretty much get the best experience playing 4.
Persona 4 has something that is just hard to explain it is magic. If I could experience that game for the first time again, I'd go back lol.
@@pookie619 it was probably the characters, persona 4 best assets are it's characters which act like genuine friends. in Persona Q Fuuka tell Yukiko that the IT are getting along well to which Yukiko replies it's their biggest strength.
SEES and PT to me are more like co-workers instead of friends since everyone seems very close to the protagonist but not with anyone else.
