When I was 9, I remember that this game looked like the coolest thing ever. I didn’t have a switch at the time, and I didn’t want to ask for one for Christmas because they’re $300 and I knew that was a lot of money.
Fast forward to Christmas of 2017, and my parents surprise me with a Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart, and a copy of this game. I was so hyped to play it, and basically spent the rest of Christmas break blitzing through it. Turns out, it was the coolest game ever.
Now I’m 14 years old, coming up on 15. I’m in freshman year of high school instead of 4th grade. Now I’m into the gaming world, and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, almost all of my friends today are because of that. And it all started with my favorite game of all time, Super Mario Odyssey.

When I finished the Darker Side of the Moon and Cappy was telling me what an adventure this has been and how amazing it was, I started tearing up, because he's absolutely right. It WAS an adventure and I enjoyed every second of it.

Also, I'm perfectly fine with them taking old content and putting it into a new game. I just don't want the entire game to BE primarily old content *cough3dlandand3dworldcough*.
In fact, I personally want to see the Cape Feather. It's been forever since it was in a mainstream Mario platformer (emphasis on mainstream. I know about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) and it would be a breath of fresh air to see a returning flying powerup other than the super leaf.
So far, this game is looking great.
I know Toads are annoying but they are part of the Mario universe 🌌 and they are here to stay.. I agree with everything else though..

Six years ago...time really does fly. This one my first game on my switch, I wanted this game and switch so bad and kept hinting to my parents that I wanted a switch and then me and my dad went to the local GameStop some time after to trade in our family xbox and he decided to get a switch for "mom" (she never played it, it was for mainly for meXD) I love this game, got some great memories attached.

Replaying it again after a couple of years, this game makes me so happy. Beautiful graphics, incredibly fun gameplay, and a wonderful soundtrack. Every time I play it, it puts me in such a good place. It's a type of fun that isn't seen enough in today's video games, and in 2022, i still feel the same way about this game. I really, really hope we will get a sequel soon. Absolutely phenomenal game!

Nintendo needs strong sales to convince third party devs that porting to the Switch is worth it. More consoles sold = more people that want games. That is what killed third party interest with the Wii U, which in turn killed the Wii U.

Can't believe six years passed from this trailer. When there were only handful of games to purchase on the Nintendo switch the game's trailer utterly excited me for the game's own release and for upcoming games. After playing through the whole game collecting the entire moons hidden (999 moons) I can confirm it was worth it. Every stage throughout the game included a different atmosphere, characters and mechanics which were fun to explore. Nowadays I don't play much of any video games and whenever I'm being reminded of them it feels as I forgot an enjoyable part of my childhood that can't be restored.
majority of games that come out are rushed and just obvious cash grabs. But games like Oddesey will always give me that feeling like when I played as a child. If they make a sequel to this I could be 40 years old and still get lost in the game and have an amazing time.
I would like to thank this game for not only existing but made my 2019 (I played this back in 2019) the best year in my entire life. There was and will never be a Mario game that can instantly win my heart just like Odyssey. Sure theres 64, sunshine, and galaxy but Odyssey has everything that I've been wanting in a Mario game ever since I finished 64 (deeper movesets than 64, perfect controls, bigger levels, more places to go, and Pauline). This is truly a Mario Masterpiece. Thank You so much for existing and making my 2019 my best year.

This trailer was one of the best Nintendo did yet, my favorite part has to be how they made it seem like the "cap tossing" was merely a new mechanic for the game only to reveal at the end that the Cap is actually a sentient being (Cappy). That was probably the best twist I've ever seen in a trailer, you can really tell Nintendo put weeks (probably even years) of work into this masterpiece! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 🤩

You ever notice how when a new open world game with a city comes out people automatically start making GTA jokes?
It seems as if over the years people began looking for the smallest similarities so they can compare it to GTA. Sure it was funny with Saints Row, but it got old with AC Syndicate, now it's come to the point to where it isn't even a real joke anymore, it's just sad. I know you were making a joke, but it's not as funny when you realize that this is basically nothing like GTA, if this joke were on a Saints Row video it might be funny but even then it's only good for a chuckle.

The time I'm making this comment it's 27th of January 2023... This game came out like October 2017.
That's 6 years ago and it's turning 7 by October. That's just insane.
This game is amazing but once you complete the darker side of the moon... There's not that much to do anymore which is kinda my biggest complain about the game but when I made a new save file and played the whole game again... It felt like I was playing the game for the first time again. 😭 What amazing memories!
This is my second favourite Mario game of all time just behind Galaxy.
I miss 2017. That was one of my best years of my life so far.

Anybody else notice the sound effects are reused from galaxy and the soundtrack is a heavily modified version of gusty garden galaxy?
