- The Black Eagles. The Blue Lions. The Golden Deer. Three noble houses that are part of the Officer’s Academy, an elite facility that trains students in the ways of weapons, magic and special skills. As a professor, the player must choose one of these houses to lead its students in grid-based battles with life-or-death stakes. Each house is comprised of many different students to meet and train, each with her or his own personality and skills. These students can interact with each other at the academy, strengthening their bonds and supporting each other on the battlefield.
The Fire Emblem: Three Houses standalone game and the Fire Emblem: Three Houses - Seasons of Warfare Edition both launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch on July 26.

Sacred Stones had a literal demon as the final boss and Radiant Dawn's was an outright goddess.

I have to say I’m actually really impressed with the main character being a teacher. It seems like so many JRPG’s/RPG’s you’re stuck being a teenager or a chosen child. It’s pretty refreshing to see this spin on things.

2. There might be other teachers to make it not so weird, but it technically is harassment, and thus illegal (or at least immoral, depends on where you live).
3. The whole joke revolves around this strange fascination in Japan with schoolgirls and teachers hooking up. You and the OP didn’t catch on to the joke, and now we’re laughing at you.
Avatar is a chosen one, not sure about the teenager part. But they are still traveling and following their father's orders at the very beginning of the game. I'd say late teens/early 20s at most. Also, my anime and manga senses are telling me that sensei is gonna grope some students...in their hearts lol

If I buy a game and make my first playthrough i dont want them to ask "who will you join" and the answer is "that which doesnt cost me extra 20$".

I saw few days ago a game that is similar to fire emblem. There were also houses. But there were more houses and each house had 1 king and 2 kids. Anyone know which game it was?

I especially liked the three houses aspect, because it means replayability with a new house each go 'round and there will be different units depending on the house, similar to FE: Fates.

IDKHQ 4 Nearing 600 hours now lol and Fire Emblem has always had tons of content. Most of all is replayability. The game is crafted to invite you to play again and take your students down different paths, like for one play through making a student a sword master, and the next a brawler Bc some aspect of the character makes them viable in both. The replayability really comes down to the journey- raising your students’ proficiencies in various areas throughout the game so that by the end, they’ve really benefited from your guidance and you feel all satisfied.

From what can be gleaned from this trailer the first half or quarter of the game might be a "school days" like setup with the turning point being a major incident that results in death or destruction putting the kingdoms at odds. Your father could be one of the casualties which...would certainly change the dynamics at the school.

If you're an old Fire Emblem fan that's bothered by a school setting, please don't be. Academies have been mentioned in previous Fire Emblem games many, many times. Sigurd, Quan and Eldigan from FE4 were all nobles who had history in a military academy.
Same with Eliwood and Hector from FE7, and Roy and Lilina from FE6. It's nothing new in Fire Emblem, this is just the first time we're actually exploring that territory first hand. This is not "fire emblem high school", this is a military academy. It's not high school, you aren't teaching your students Algebra, you're teaching your units how to fight. My guess is that they're all past high school, in fact.
I remain optimistic, because the first trailer as well as the end of this one clearly teased a main conflict that will happen. The story's not going to remain at peace forever, and the gameplay we got here is clearly early game stuff. We always start with bandits in Fire Emblem.
For those worried about the relationship system, yeah there's nothing I can say about that. There's clearly a heart up symbol in the trailer so it's a probability that it'll be returning, try not to let it take away from the actual story and remember that Byleth was walking with the three lords at the beginning of the trailer. There's a probability that they've all known each other way before the events of the actual game, and that Byleth's the same age as them.
In regards to the relationship system, I’m personally hoping that it will be more like the gameboy games. You could still pick the pairings you wanted, but the characters didn’t downright get married in the supports (they got married in the epilogue). I think it would be much more appropriate that way, as student teacher relationships are creepy regardless of age. Plus it will allow the characters to not be idiots and get married in the middle of war.
For the school part, I was not liking it at all at first, but now that I’ve had time for the idea to sit, I don’t mind it much. As long as the plot isn’t centered around school stuff, I’m sure it won’t be bad, plus it allows a lot of customization for units.
@@amburprice8479 Yeah the teacher-student relationship is pretty controversial, and if it does happen then ouch. The fanbase will likely not be happy. Earlier games did cover some controversial topics, and Genealogy of the Holy War [FE4] had outright incest relationships but they never covered something like this.
Hopefully the heart up we saw in the trailer is just "My teacher is cool" and not outright marriage. If it did hint at a possible relationship system, then I'm hoping it's kept to the backburner until after a potential graduation chapter/timeskip, or after the game is over. If the Church of Seiros does turn out to be evil, which a lot of people are betting is the case, then I doubt Byleth and everyone will be staying in school forever anyways, as it's right smack-dab in the middle of the conflict.
@@VermilionProductions except context matters when it comes to "teacher-student" relationships here. This isnt a High School or even a regular school, its a military academy where they train to become respectable figures. Its not controversial since there isnt anything morally wrong with that.

Bro, student teacher relationships are not only wrong due to age difference. Take a college for example. You could have a young college professor with an older student around the same age. Does that mean they are allowed to date? Absolutely not, the professor will likely get fired for that. Teacher student relationships are morally wrong no matter the age.

Professors at college and above dont get fired for dating outside the workplace or class, especially professors who are still in their mid twenties. You must have it stuck in your head that professors have to be old guys. Most policies in college prohibit teacher student dating DURING teaching hours or campuses. Outside of that Your free to do as you please.
Im not sure what age you live in but in this age plenty of younger professors date college age students and higher outside of their work and there is absolutely mothing morally wrong with it as long as it doesnt affect your teaching ability or in class. Furthermore in this game it isnt a college and every student looks to be around the same age as the main characters.
If the MC ever makes it in Smash I want him to beat the other fighters with the power of detention.

The leaker that leaked the date of today's direct also said that edelgard would be one of the smash DLC characters, which would make more sense, we don't need anymore avatar characters. Plus, first axe FE character for smash too, so that'd be interesting

That's an idea FE never explored: we will be the drill sergeant in a royal military accademy. It makes sense, since all the knight, heroes and fighter would have started somewhere before becoming soldiers... Interesting point of view!
I feel the game will have two distinct halves, training your army and then jump cutting to fighting off the threat. It will probably be divided into 3 or 4 Acts however.

I think awakening isn’t the deepest or most thought provoking, but it’s charming and good for what it is. Fates has some good gameplay, but I definitely agree they weren’t anything special in terms of narrative, and characters (especially fates). But you should definitely check out SOV
For me not, it was average.

I'm curious how this game will handle character deaths. The cast seems smaller but more tight knit in a way. With modern rpg's now having hundreds of dialogue options, branching paths, and choices that change dialogue and story events, I'd love to see a Fire Emblem game have it so that character's react dynamically in the event that a playable unit dies. For example, having characters mention the character's death later on in side conversations, maybe have a burial service, or give you, the protagonist, a chance to provide emotional support with those close to the dead character. It would add some replayability to the game and a lot of weight to the story, and personally, give me a reason not to just instantly restart when a character falls.

In Echoes, if a character died, other characters who were close to them would react after battle. Some of the quotes were actually quite heartbreaking.
@@amburprice8479 yeah. There's a video on here that has them all. A step in the right direction for the series. I just found it weird how in games like awakening or fates, a character's wife/husband/child could die but they don't really react in any way. People could argue that going more in depth with this would make the game more dark than needed, but with permadeath being such a staple in the series I always wondered if they'd ever do more with it

Its the same company that did Shadows of Valentia's cutscenes isnt it? Dont get me wrong, some parts were fluid like 1:40 when meeting Sothis, those few seconds were lovely but honestly it be nice to have Fates and Awakening's animation studio again instead of having these stiff cutscenes

Love how each unit is a regiment of soldiers that loses men as you lose health now instead of just one character. Really helps to give the battle a feel of warlike scale rather than two teams of a dozen or so people.
