It's pretty dang amazing. It looked like the original game didn't sell well enough to warrant a sequel, but not only is it getting one, but it looks a million times better than the original game. Capcom is clearly throwing a lot of money into this one, and I hope it pays off. I'd love for Stories to become a regular subseries.
Monster Hunter stories have a mobile game over in Japan called monster hunter riders
it sold.....mildlly well worldwide but not as much as a mainline Monster Hunter game. Though that may be because of it being a japan only game before it localized.
Also, it came to the west AFTER the Swith launched. Doing decently in that situation is a etter result than you may think it is.
i would do anything for this to be a regular subseries
@@alexstewart9592 I was playing MH Stories on my 3DS before there was a such thing as a Switch. It came out in 2016. Switch came out in 2017.
Honestly this is my most hyped game of 2021. I liked Rise, don't get me wrong, but I LOVE creature collecting games, like Pokemon, Digimon, Yokai Watch, and the original Monster Hunter Stories. Super hyped for this because the original imo, is one of the best games on the 3DS.
Same here, Stories is probably the most-played game on my DS. The nostalgia and hype are very real

Same for me, right now I’m trying to strive to 100% it, I wouldn’t do this unless a game was so damn fun and challenging at the same time; this became my favorite rpg,

When a story trailer has a well acted and emotional crying scene, you know itll be a good one.

Given they were customizable... the most we're likely to get is a mention of them. "Lute is off on another continent." or something.
They’ve already shown him off I’m fairly certain, “Red” is the old man in a few trailers and on the website and “Red” is the main character of stories.
I think the old man is the previous character you played with in monster hunter stories 1

I am very eager to play this game, you know I’m gonna play that demo for hours when It comes out; I remember playing the first game’s demo I couldn’t stop playing it, and when I did finish all the side quests, I still wanted to do more.
As of now, I’m working to 100% it, the post game has a hard difficulty and yet it’s still fun without being too annoying; it really become my favorite rpg.
This. I've completed all subquests and have almost reached 100% completion, and I'm still finding enjoyment in this game. I can't wait to sink just as much time into the sequel
Y'all forgetting the most important thing. We can finally make the most strongest Aptonoth in all of existence. Master of the elements, lord of the elders, king of monsters.
Hopefully Lilia remembers the past with the old main character and his Ratha so she should understand the new main characters’ struggle.

I sense a lot of character development, even with your main character. I loved Ratha in the original, but to have a Ratha to protect and who seems to develop an incredibly deeper bond with your character, I feel like this is going to grab my attention for a while.

Yep, Pokemon will never be this good just because of how much behind it is already. It is still lagging behind the first Monster Hunter Stories.

They're always toxic. At some point I learned to either get used to it and be positive in chat, or just turn off live chat altogether. It's a shame that good games like this are cast aside as unwanted trash because the individual audience is selfish and only pleased if they see what THEY want.

Okay, this game is pushing past awesome to "mind blowing" levels.
One of my most awaited games and in a packed month. Can't wait for the demo.
Recently beat the first game with over 150+ hours on it and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Hopefully there’s a transfer app so we can transfer our progress and character to the new game if he/she makes an appearance. I really would like it if the monsties I have in that game, can be seen on the Switch.

So this is where all the storytelling effort for MH went. Rise’s story was just an afterthought.
I cannot wait to stream through the demo. The original monster hunter stories was so much fun and I ended up pretty attached to my end game monsters so I can't wait to re-experience that affection. It's also really cool just to see newer monsters get added in...

I was really hyped for this game because I played the first Monster Hunter Stories a long time ago and I have really good memories of it. I bought it last year and I absolutely loved it, it's a really enchanting game. The visuals, the characters, the story, heck even the soundtrack is great. It has from heart warming moments to very intense ones, or even moments that take a few tears from you. This game is immersive and gets you to feel like you're inside of it and to love every single bit of it. And personally I liked it even more because like the previous one it's got some kind of How to train your Dragon vibes, the bonding moments and such.

Better grind those mats and zennys so once the full game is out you dont need to farm hours for them for a long time

I want a mode where you can play as the monsters, they look really cool D:
I mean, in this game you command them nearly as much as you command the hunter. And in Monster Hunter Rise, you can at least temporarily take full control of them to fight other Monsters. So, if any MH games let you do that, it's the current two :D

I loved the first game and i'm seriously looking forward to this one, i've just been burned so many times by this (Kirby Star Allies, Animal Crossing (New Horizons), No Man's Sky, etc)
hopefully the base game is still meaty enough to not need the updates to be great, this really does seem like more of the original so all I can hope is that it keeps that wonderful spark of the first intact

Man, I was hoping we could get Magnamalo from the Rise-collab as a Monstie. But can still be a thing. Nonetheless, Palamute is a wonderful addition to Stories 2 and I’m looking forward to get it (and add Dragon Genes to it and make it über-powerful as heck xD).

Just wondering, I just think this game looks awesome and if it has a storyline before this game.
You don't need to buy the previous Stories game, but some characters will return to do new stuff.

I don't like monster hunter games... But I just finished Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS after almost 100 hours of gameplay. Amazing game! I'm definitely picking this one!
@Chill Stranger For what I saw in the trailer they already explains a bit how the Kinship Stones works. I think you should be fine without playing the first one. Basically the Kinship Stones allow riders (they are different from hunters) to form a bond with the monsters. So trough Kinship Stones they have some kind of friendship. You spend most part of the game getting monster eggs and combining powers of them, what is definitely the best part of it. You can find the first one on Android and iOS too if you want to take a look. :)
@Chill Stranger You'll totally be fine if you jump straight into this game without playing the first one. They are loosely connected aside from some side characters reappearing, so you aren't missing out on much.

Fair point, I’ll take a kushala or teostra over Kirin any day, really hope we get more dragon elemental attacks, like if you didn’t want to use Stygian or picklejho the only dragon move you could pass down was spread dragon breath
