It's strane but I'am loving this game! As a new fan to the series ( my first one was 3houses) I'm really surprised that 30 years ago this series was already really good

Its been on Famicom Online for a while so it'll probably come to NES Online and hopefully Gaiden will come too. Hopefully we get Mystery of The Emblem, Genealogy of The Holy War and Thracia 776 for SNES online.

Same, although I'm terrified that they'll muck it up somehow if they use the Three Houses engine. TH is a great game, but the engine is absolutely awful with horrid FPS with constant dips, low quality textures, and terrible load times. Plus, it'd suck if they added an avatar to the game or picked a bad artist for it.

bench the ballisticians though, they're only good in the remake. archers with 0 as basically. compared to 3-10 range in remake. if glitch is still there, abuse bantu, objectively among the best units in the original. infinity defense is huge.

Also, IMO "Mario 3D All-Stars" wasn't as bad as all the KRplusrs say, (and Nintendo has added updates making it better) and the SMB Game & Watch is a nice piece of work with new features actually added to the game, and secrets.

Tbf who does this really appeal to other then major FE fans. It the first in a series in as close to it's orginal state that it could be. Not the best jumping off point especially with how different the series has become

@@westeralex1 Well If the game only appeals to Fire Emblem fans that's because that's there target audience and that makes perfect sense since obviously an anniversary would be best celebrated by giving fans what they want rather than trying to make the mainstream care about some old game they've never heard of outside of some smash fighters. Basically what I'm saying is Nintendo new what they were doing and already planned out there intended audience before it even released.

There have been some rumors that the next FE game will be a Genealogy remake but that's not quite the same and, as I said, they are just rumors

This version has several features AND had to be translated. I don't agree with a lot of Nintendo's business practices, but this is a case where it makes sense to charge for the product. Personally, I'm just happy that one of the Japanese only FE games is releasing in the west for the first time ever!

@@80sForever29 uh, no actually. To translate from Japanese to English is not the same as translating from like, Spanish to English. They have to translate, then reword to make it actually make sense in English, then they have to add or remove words, add more text boxes if words don’t fit... and a ton more. It’s not easy to localise and it’s DEFINITELY not a low paying job.

On April 1st on midnight they're gonna announced they were just kidding. 3D all stars isn't discontinuing, fire emblem isn't discontinuing, Mario maker 1 isn't shutting down and metroid prime 4 is releasing tomorrow.

Agreed, I really love the visuals of SD. Some of the portraits look pretty amateurish, but the sprites and world itself look really appealing

yeah I wouldnt reccomend this one to start with. I would say start with FE7 also known as simply Fire Emblem in the west or Blazing Sword, FE9 (Path of Radiance) if you can somehow play it but youd need the original which is super expensive or a decent computer, Awakening is also a decent one, as well as 3H but Id say FE7 and FE9 are better. also dont play on casual mode cause then you might as well not be playing at all and it would turn you away from the older games since they dont have the option

Might not be the best to start off with as its fine as a stand alone game but the mechanics aren't compareable to any other game in the series even other games on SNES.
Not saying to not do it but if you do beware that not all the mechanics are the same ( some for the best like your turn ending if you decide to trade items ) so just beware of this

I agree with everyone here... i mean if you want thats great... but i dont really recommend it to start with it.. i could say FE3 mystery of the emblem would be a good start but thats a Snes title and japan exclusive... so for first i guess i recomend the new games like three houses or awakening.. even fire emblem blazing blade would be a fine start... then you can play this... but hey.. if you want pick it.. its your decision to make

I don't care about F-Zero but Kid Icarus would be lit. But Sakurai said he didn't want a new Kid Icarus game. Also that "instead" doesn't make sense since even if they didn't port Fire Emblem, they still wouldn't work on F-Zero or Kid Icarus, cause they are busy with stuff like canceling Smash Tournaments lol

Lots of fans of the series have never played this game though. Because the first 7 Fire Emblem games up until 2004 were all Japan exclusive and this is the first time we get this game in the West.
This is still a great game though, hope you will enjoy!

This one is not the most beloved. I haven't played it. If you want to see why people love Fire Emblem you'd probably play Fire Emblem 7 Blazing Sword on GBA.
