Indie games are great, but let's not fool ourselves. 80 percent of them are pixel art games.
i honestly love how much nintendo embraces indies.

Kudos to Nintendo for supporting Indies the way that they do. They are an absolute joy to play on the Switch.

Well, it all stems from the WiiU era of backlash they got from being against indies, saying that they “did not want to work with garage developers,” to now is a huge shift.
Only the popular ones. La Mulana didn't get any recognition this year.

There are some amazing Indie titles here. I'm particularly happy to see Shantae here, this series has come a long way!
Glad to see Crosscode getting some of the recognition it deserves! It is one of my favorite games and I hope more people will to play it!

Super great game
I just noticed a goof-up at 2:51, where all the game logos are shown together.
On the far left, they used the logo for Ori and the Blind Forest instead of Will of the Wisps.
Gosh, I hate being a Graphic Designer sometimes... 😂
lol
Not to nitpick Nintendo or anything but im going to nitpick Nintendo
Bruh how did u see that
@@TrulyCrafty No flipping idea 😂
I guess I've just paid extremely close attention to logos ever since I was younger.
I bet they'll take it down and reupload quickly like whenever they make errors
There's a mistake with Ori's logo at the end. It should have been Will of the Wisps, not Blind Forest.
Not as big of a mistake as including a game from Xbox Game Studios on a list of "indie" games...
@@aichpvee Is Moon Studios not an indie developer? Ya so microsoft published the game, it was still made by an indie development team.
@@fajitacat9458 this list is about indie GAMES not indie developer. so yea, it's epic fail. same deal for moving out. pubished by Team 17. how is this indie when someone publishes it?
if nintendo wanna showcase 3rd party games, well just call this best 3rd party switch titles of 2020.
@Joey Ford well there lies the problem with the description of what indie is and what it's not.
it stands for independent game studio, while it's not independent once it get's publishing help.
the argument that something is indie because it's small is just laughable. there is this game called Dead By Daylight. it initially was published by 505 games but the devs bought the rest of the pie that the publisher owned around the release of the game back. i think the publisher was struggling financially or whatever. anyway the game now is published by behavior interactive themselves.
is this now indie or what? the company is as big as having 600 employees within multiple different departments, like visual designers, programmers, sound people, voice actors and even a entire separate in house studio that develops the games mobile version.
this company earns more than 100 million dollars every year. so those people have the pocket of some aaa studio, but i say those are still indie. based on the description of what indie is, they're completely independent, since they bought out their initial publisher.
Indie games compared to big company games are so much more full of love like when you eat at a restaurant it taste good but when when your grandma makes food it's filled with love
So many dope indie games maaaaan!
I hope I'll get Hades next year!
GREAT GAME. If you like dungeon rogue likes, this is THE game for you! Hope you get it next year two. I got it two days ago and have non stop playing it

I love that Nintendo is giving so much exposure to a lot of great indie games. I just want to shout out Paradise Killer, one of the best indie games I've played this year and it seems it went under the radar for a lot of folks
I'm surprised Bug Fables wasn't on here. It was def my favorite indie this year (Hades is a strong second) and was a really great game even outside of the Paper Mario nostalgia.

Kinda weird that Bug Fables and A Short Hike weren't featured, especially because I don't even think I saw Neon Abyss or Super Mega Baseball 3 ever chart
