To be fair, PPT1 is orginally from 2013.
Just like the good old days
You could make that argument for literally any puzzle game sequel, though. The Puyo Puyo series has gotten a million sequels over the years, so it wouldn't really make sense to make all of this stuff DLC for an older game.
The tetris player is going to have even more of a disadvantage now.

@Joshua Box I would disagree, I personally find the PS4 controller to be the best feeling controller (and I've heard amazing things about the PS5 controller, as well). The problem is that the Xbox controllers are made primarily for shooters/sports games, so the d-pad is absolutely horrendous for 2D games since it's meant more as a toggle than an actual way to control games. The sticks also just don't feel very nice, they're really stiff.
@Joshua Box I would disagree about the stick placement, I honestly think that the PlayStation stick placement is part of what makes it so perfect for 2D games, alongside the well designed d-pad. The problem is that controllers like the Switch Pro and Xbox controller are made for 3D games first, 2D games never, so it's basically impossible to control 2D games well with them. The PlayStation set-up is really comfortable for 3D games as well, so I'd say that it's probably superior to the offset stick set-up of the other systems.

I really wish the "P5 Spinoff" was just a general Persona spinoff. It would have been so awesome to see every Persona game in one for the first time. It sucks that Q2 was too lazy to include every game, and now Scramble is too lazy to even add more than 5 and instead just recycles assets. Plus, I can't even imagine how amazing it would be to see Persona 1 and 2 characters and locations in HD, complete with fanservice movesets.
