It's technically not a contradictory statement.
It's like when a normal person sees an actual piece of garbage on the street. No one's around judging it. Its self apparent what it is. No question of its value. Therefore no one is focusing on its lack of worth, it doesnt warrant an appraisal of judgement bcz theres no obvious traits that stand out as worth judging. They simply acknowledge its trash and move on.
On the other hand. there may be some ppl who have a strange fetish with trash. Or collectors, scrappers, trash pickers, homeless ppl etc. To them they place a certain kind of value on it. And since they're the ones focusing on it..they may find a some useful features or uses for it. They're immersed into the world of trash so they're gonna place high value on it, cuz it gives them something useful for their level of existence.
Problem is today. We have a strange culture of "trash worshippers" it seems.

Nah... I don't believe that. I love Eminem. I've read Shakespeare quite a bit. But definitely not going to be considered to be like Beethoven. Beethoven composed symphonies by himself on paper that came together to be historically fundamental ground work for music past that point.
Eminem doesn't do anything nearly as impressive. Nor does he even compose Most his own music. Most people don't even jam his early music anymore and that's only 20 years old. Beethovens music performed can still fill theaters 200 years after it originated.
