Hi. Shout out from Carlsbad New Mexico❤
Cartago, Colombia
Her voice personifies simultaneously strength and vulnerability. I think that is what makes listeners shiver. The emotional range reaches.
Beautiful and unique. RIP
You described it perfectly!
I think I understand what you meant
Both of those, plus an undeniable genuine quality to it.
It’s what also makes them linger 😭
Does anyone else get the shivers when she hits her unique vocal sounds?
She was one of God's perfect creatures, we were blessed to exist among her
@@fredmanie2926it reminds me when Freddie mercury died, his mom said that god loved him so much that he just wanted him sooner. I feel the same way about Dolores.
everyone bro, every single one :(
There’s something about Irish female singers. Sinead, enya, the corrs, they astonish me. Must be in the water. (Or the Guinness)😂
@@fredmanie2926 I believe she’s Scottish. And that’s a big difference to Scots. Ha! But I would agree, she’s one of the great Uk singers.
Zombie is probably the most iconic song of this extraordinary band, but Linger for me is their masterpiece.
The Icicle Melts is my favourite one
I just agree with you, What a Beautiful song.
Good choices. I also think "Free to Decide" is vastly underrated.
And her voice sounds the same, just beautiful
Dreams is absolutely my favorite from their discography. :)
Watching this near the end of 2023, and the loss of Dolores O'Riordan still hurts. What a singular talent she was. Zombie still gives me chills all these years later. Every lilt and keening wail hits so hard.

Poor Delores and now Sinead O'Connor.. 2 heroic irish women who will live on in Irish Folklore for generations.. 2 troubled souls who brought joy to millions around the world... Generational Talent.. R.I.P ladies ❤
i think of irish women as fiercely passionate and thoughtful people and i don’t think i realized how influenced that was by those two. they’re a glowing representation of the country
their gift is their curse..... great art comes misery
I don’t think their gift is their curse. I think that maybe a successful woman is not treated well / accepted / taken care of over there.
They turn their pain in hope and happiness for milions.

Beautifully put.
It's a real punch in the heart to see her alive and loving the moment again in this session . Like she's not gone almost. What a loss to this world was her unique voice and soul.

Totally agree with you and it brings tears to my eyes 😢
yeah, it's so sad... Although, I can see some bipolar behaviors on this record... I'm also bipolar so it's even crazier.
My mother taught Dolores in secondary school, said she was always very sweet and quite in her own world. A real creative. R.I.P the world lost such a wonderful soul 💔
Her death must have hit her very hard.

There is something in Delores's' voice that just seems to hint at hundreds of years of irish pain. Similar to the great bluesmen of the Mississippi delta and Georgia. Amazing music.
Yeah, it's her Irish accent.
Most Irish female singers have that skip in their vocals...listen to the Corrs they got that too
jesse hays A lot of Irish and Scottish folk music has a haunting tone. Hitting that emotion with beauty is simply in the Celtic/Gaelic wheelhouse; they don't shy away in those cultures.

Her voice was so insanely unique you never listen to 5 seconds of a song and wonder "is that the cranberries". She does so many wild things no one will ever cover!!
Some idiot spent days trying to tell me it was Sinead O'Connor singing linger in a Twitch chat. I was like, ok buddy.
She sounds a lot like Bjork. I think SNL should have done a skit about them doing a duet back in the 90’s.
Unfortunately there are those who try to do a cover. Try being very operative.
The irish shakira
Her powerful gaelic cry will be heard, and felt for generations to come. You can feel her every word. You are missed Doris.
I've watched a bunch of Tiny Desk Concerts. This one brought a tear to my eye. When Dolores turns toward the band in Zombie it's about more than a performance. Her voice is transcendent and I hope she is resting in peace.
I watched it till the end and all I could do was wish there was more! I remember being so mesmerized by the song Zombie when I saw the music video back in the day. Her voice was and is like no other! RIP 🪽
I love how she gives her band mates little subtle smiles. There is something very special about her.

Still coming back to this in 2023. Thank you so much Tiny Desk for this. A very very special moment.
2024 here friend, hope you're doing great.
Just popped up in my feed right before bed. ❤😢 gone too soon. Such a talented woman.
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of Tiny Desk Concerts. This one is the best. The charm if actually feeling like they just showed up and were asked to bring out guitars is amazing. The production feels dated, but it makes it so charming . They just look happy playing their songs. It is so rock n roll. They took the request to play Zombie, and obviously didn’t plan on playing it but did it anyway.
Sitting in quarantine and listening to her voice while crying is my new mood

We truly miss such an amazing vocalist even though we are worlds apart. Zombie played in my generation like crazy, and even common people knew about the Northern Ireland issues... not because of BBC, but all because of the song. From Northeastern India.
You should be proud. I'm proud for you. She is an Irish treasure.

Beautiful Irish Rose to be sure.
Something about seeing some of my favorite bands aged and playing music in an intimate setting just makes me grin from ear to ear.
i couldnt have described the feeling i have from stuff like this better.
Truly. Proving the music never dies. And they still feel it and are completely committed to it. It satisfies a longing deep inside for hope, for continuity.
because you see them "real" you see them reachable and you feel they are closer to you and have more in common with them than what you thought , they grow old with you but grew more intimate like if we own a part of their music , cranberries always will remind me my high school years 1999-2001 their music spoke to me in many levels , that's why we grin , besides all the storms and time they are still together as band performing the same music that has become just even better
I just wanna step foot in this room where so many deceased beautiful artists have been, just feel the energy.
