I’ll be honest, I read some current news and saw she started making videos again. Naturally, I had to see if a comment section was left and here we are.
I for one 100% believe her parents need to rot in jail for awhile, years at a minimum. But, let’s keep this about Olivia. I never knew she existed till this thing broke out, but, I can to some degree sympathize with her.
17-18 year old rich kid going to talk back to her rich parents about not going to school? The amount of power they hold and hold over her is a lot. And kids are dumb, probably just went along with her parents demands thinking little of it.
I’d love to hate her, and I really do enjoy reading about Lori, her mother, losing her mind. But, in some capacity I admire her, Olivia, for being strong enough to try to get her life back on track with what she wanted to do in the first place.
It also must be hard because she can’t talk about anything in detail because of her parents law suit (not wanting to incriminate them; at the end of the day she’ll still love her parents and be loyal to them).

I will agree with you however that a large portion of poorer minority students have worse test scores than rich white students. And to that I say, we both know that test scores are almost directly proportional to wealth. But I would say that is why colleges need context. If students live in the most impoverished city in America but got 1300 on the SAT and only took on AP, then a college might look at that student with the same point of view as a student in a rich neighborhood that took multiple APs and scored 1500. But I don't think it is fair to say that minority students are in any way "lacking" at elite universities. An easy way to make sure everyone has the same fair chance based on race is to not include it in the application. That is just my opinion although it is mostly backed by facts.

we don't even have entrance exams here. we have placement ones after you are admitted.

for many schools you do have to meet a certain educational requirement. also most coaches take academics into accountability so they dont risk their athletes being ineligible due to grades. But funny joke nonetheless

TBH, the parents were more in the wrong than she was. They should have known much better, they are plenty old enough. They are all dumb as rocks, but the parents should set the example. This kid turned out the way she did, because of the way she was raised, plain and simple! You get what you put into it. I imagine there is a whole lot worse stuff going on out there in Hollywood, that we never hear about. These ones were just unlucky and got caught.
