Sometimes it's not easy to spot when you're opponent is beyond their limit. Their job is to focus in order to hit more as fast as you can without taking hits. This is the referees' duty. The coaches on the ring sides could throw in towel too to stop the fight when it gets too dangerous for their fighters. The fact that even the referee and both coaches didn't realize this situation makes it even clear that sometimes accidents and deaths are unavoidable.
This shows you that most mma fighters don't want to injure their opponents for life they just want to win the match much respect for themselves and others ๐ ๐

Well thatโs mainly in the UFC, and because fighters can recover from being knocked out cold. Just look up Pat Berry vs Cheick Kongo. They do it to finish the fight until they hear a bell ring, itโs just apart of the UFC.
It's a job for them to fight in the ring, they know it's dangerous but they're not there to kill each other. Respect to those fighters who can hold off their excitement and look at their foe's well being.
