Okay, but people don't mention enough how Mill's rap, gives you an adrenaline rush. The performance feels rapid and intense. I love it. Plus he acts a bullied student here, but at the same time the whole thing is so contrasting, tsunami wave-like and fast paced with the lyrics. Big growing presence. Skills ❤️

Can we talk about how many people are being made to feel happy about themselves through their songs and storylines? Cuz as a closeted gay teen who was and is constantly subjected to bullying in school for being "too girly" or "too soft" or "too shy", I can relate to all the feelings this mv wanted to portray. And they also fulfilled every gay guy's utmost fantasy; finding true love who protects you from the cruel world. Due to OnlyOneOf, I felt proud of myself for the first time, I felt like it's okay to be gay, to be queer and after watching Begin by Yoojung, I was encouraged to come out to my close friends!!! Guys, did you notice this ? In every MV's couple, there always are a moment when a rainbow, created by the lighting, appears on the screen ! The first one was in be free during the dance scene in yoojung's restaurant, the second one in because when junji's above rie in the bed, and now, it's behind Nine when he does the pose for Mill's drawing ( 1:47 ). This one is particularly beautiful, maybe my favorite on the three ! The visual directors for these serie are on fire ! Every romance has its own colors and special lighting, the visual are always stunning and qualitative, which is pretty hard because most of the scenes were shoot outside. seriously, only talented people have worked on underground idOl, that's crazy !!!

I have seen some people saying the song does not match the MV. I think otherwise. The song is about what Mill's feelings like - intense and chaotic, whether it is wanting to beat up the bullies or his heartbeat toward Nine. We can see those through Mill's rapping scenes without his glasses. The MV is about what the reality appears to be, the scenes with he is wearing the glasses. The song and the MV together show the conflict between Mill's internal turmoil as a vulnerable teenager versus what he can actually do in reality. The method is similar to "skinz" MV, which is a mixture of gritty sounds and fuzzy everyday life, but you can feel the dissonance, which makes you think about what's actually going on.

throughout the be series, the pairs always have 1 member representing closeted lgbt members and another being more open. for kyujung, yoojung was closeted as he constantly hidden by different things and had shy mannerisms for both kyujung mvs. he was also in the phone booth, encased away from society. there are also shots where he is outside of the phone booth, symbolizing his desire to be more open and accepted. kyubin is very much open, as there are scenes where he is shirtless/had an unbuttoned, shirt, showing confidence.
for junrie, rie is closeted, as he too was in the phone booth a lot of times. there are also scenes where rie is outside the booth, also showing his wish to be open. junji is ofc the bolder one, being shirtless in a lot of scenes. even junji made the first move on rie in the storyline, showing how open he is. rie only really follows junji around, like in the end where rie takes off his shirt then jumping into the pool after junji does, but this scene could mean that rie finally expresses himself freely in front of society.
for this story, nine is open and the closeted one would be mill. mill seems to only be questioning though, which starts when he first meets nine (a love at first sight situation as implied by the mv's description). the lyrics talk about "opening the *new* eyes", and i emphasize the word "new" here because in the beginning of the mv nine smiles and waves at mill in class, but mill shyly looks away. this is where mill starts questioning. he is already being b/llied by some guys in his school and discovering his sexuality will put him at more risk, however they already have a hunch because they catch mill drawing nine in his notebook and even recognize nine when he saves mill.
mill remains closeted even if he constantly talks about opening his eyes, because he admits that he feels an attraction to nine but can't express himself. mill also mentions dimensions, fiction and a new world. this to me means that nine helps mill escape from the real world through fiction and his art, a new world created when they first met each other (again the love at first sight implication).
even so, it seems like mill wants to be more open just like yoojung and rie. this is shown through him drawing nine on a notebook (1st chorus), then on an actual canvas in the art room (2nd chorus) and not hiding his work when nine walks in, among other scenes. when nine saves him from the b/llies, mill realizes his sexuality but again is still closeted, as this is where the phone booth symbolism finally appears in the mv, but he has his glasses off, meaning he has "opened his eyes" (alluding to those lyrics i mentioned before) and accepted himself. when mill is standing outside the booth, i assume he called nine, and that this takes place later in the day when nine saved him. nine being beaten up already shows the obvious outcome of his act of heroism.
* SIDE NOTE i believe kb in the kyujung mvs and kb here are the same people, making kb a teacher in this storyline. kb barely appears here but if you squint he is wearing a blue polo under the blazer and in the kyujung songs he also wears a blue polo!
i hope to see more tidbits of nine's side in his song!!

These songs mean so much to me. I'm a new fan. Like I literally just started listening to them today, but the impact they have is so powerful that it's drawing me in quickly! I really enjoyed these storylines for these past couple songs. Not only are the songs good and the MVs well shot, the stories aren't sticking to just happy-go-lucky (not a good way to write this but it's obviously not at negative as the following stories) queer plots like the first 2 seemed to be (an unrequited love that worked out in the end) but the next two depicted the sort of conflict of queer relationships where we often feel stuck in a relationship or memories of a relationship because we were taught to think no one would love us as we are, so when we find someone, we hold onto them, even if the relationship is toxic or bad for us. These last two seem to want to touch on the internalized feelings and the external oppression, which is such an important conversation. Though it does lean into the weird focus a lot of people outside the community have on queer suffering. But its not a bad topic per say, just a tad overused. Sorry for this mini essay, these topics are just so near and dear to me
