Ever since I saw The Three Amigos, I have loved Martin Short- he is as quick and smart as a whip. Possibly the best blend of Hollywood insider, positivity, sarcasm, and dry wit. A real professional- his preparation and presentation is faultless. He makes it look easy but smoothness and lines like that are genius.

these two have such a great relationship of admiration and respect. you can just see how Steve admires Martin here, and their work together in anything they collaborate in is simply stellar.
My first remembrance of Short was SNL's Ed Grimley odd charater, and then to Three Amigos (that whole cast was fantastic and i had a friend who know enough of My Little Buttercup and the dance to make people question our sanity)... but "I Must Say" [callback there]... I've loved watching Short give award presentations or interviews. The man was using a teleprompter but I believe he wrote it, memorized it, and meant it... the tele is there for backup. He did a lovely job for Tom Hanks... but clearly these two have a very special relationship. And Steve wasn't flashing the silly faces at this one, as he's done before... his was listening and laughing and smiling. Appreciated the simple quick witted little roasts and the pacing was fantastic. Surprised it took me this long to see this clip.
