Day in the Life of a Typical Japanese Cosplay Worker

- A day in the life of a Japanese Anime Cosplayer working in Tokyo Japan. The life of a typical Japanese Worker in the Cosplay world in Tokyo is different than the average Japanese salaryman. The average Japan working hours are completely different for the Japanese worker in Cosplay because of the job requirements are more flexible. Working in Japan can be grueling depending on the Job in Tokyo, but it can be more flexible if you decide. The Cosplayer life is a bit more free than the typical Japanese worker. This day in the life Japan cosplay video can highlight different opportunities working in Japan. There are manga cosplayer or anime cosplayer and it really depends on the Japan cosplayer interests. The cosplay life is not for most, but if you love it like Yuzuchi, a 20 year old Japanese female worker in Japan, then each day can be an enjoyable experience. The average Japanese working day for most salarymen starts between 8AM-9AM and finishes around 6PM - 7PM, but there is also a lot of Japanese overtime depending on the Japanese company. The Japanese worker in Cosplay, is able to start later in the day, but also works quite late as you will see in this video. This Japanese Cosplayer will visit a Japanese studio, meet with a friend for dinner and karaoke and also have late working hours for her online job.

not everyone has that kind of life and job 😔😔😔
cheer up man!, everyone has their own time to enjoy their life and work at the same time. don't give up,!!
MiLkYwAy I always remember the story of the kfc 🍗 founder, he succeeded when he’s 50. But I’m not saying we should wait, We should start from now and appreciate of what we have ☺️. Life is not a sprint, but it’s a marathon. It’s not someone elses marathon, but our own 😎
I need to remind this to myself too. Hope it can cheer everyone too 😁
A lot of the work gets left out. She still has to buy/make costumes, find gigs to model for, streaming is hard work and I doubt her income is consistent.
why do you have to remind me that ..!!!
And I’m enjoying myself watching her 😩
I love his voice it's so warm and calming
She is so lovely. It was neat to see the friendship between two introverts and all the cozy little booths they ate and entertained themselves in. I love the idea of booth karaoke, so if it sounds horrible-only your loved ones will be tortured. Thank you for entertaining me with real life.
So let me get this straight. She works around 3 hours a day and can afford her own small apartment, eat/drink at restaurants, and eat take out every single day? Dam, I've got the wrong job...
Isekais and konbini food is also super cheap, and honestly, far healthier than what you get in US or Europe as "fast convenient food".
I doubt her life is this easy. He only filmed one day with her, in which, she probably only gave some brief information to him. Remember that she’s not trying to reveal her whole life, to me it’s more of what a cosplayers job is. Even if u don’t enjoy what ur currently doing, remember you can always change that, life is full of possibilities and you can always make it better!
I think there must be tons more! Like editing photos, doing internet marketing, chatting in forums and so on to get more fans etc.
@@circleofclouds there is definitely more. I doubt she lives off a few photoshoots and livestreams.
@@sweezy8073 I don't know. Depends on what you call easy. Is working less hours with more public appearances based on you're looks easier than working 12 hours a day. I don't know but everything has it's benefits and sacrifices. I get the feeling people think 100% of Japanese people work 12-16 hours a day. If you're good at modeling and live streaming and you're cute you can make a lot of money of off thirsty boys on the internet. Sure some days might be longer but not like the other professions from this series.

It's not really big here in America, but I love seeing this! Thank you for showing what it's like being a cosplayer in Japan! or just anywhere in general!
I think it's lovely, she has such a fun life with lots of leisure. She's clever to make technology work for her. Such a star.
How much money does she make a day?
霧裡探花水中望月 If we assume that she is renting that apartment, probably quite a bit as a lot of Japanese cannot afford to move out of their parents homes even after graduating from uni and getting a job
Nothing clever at all wat she does is already been done for many yrs lol u can do tht too easily we jst gotta use Facebook and insta not only to post pics and tasty food snacks lol
Its funny how a Japanese apartment is a "a lot" but its only about 500 USD a month
aven snow that depends entirely on which Ward you are living in. Many studio apartments in Tokyo are much more expensive.
She looks like a completely different person with those contact lenses.

Keep in mind many Japanese wear masks for a simple cold, hide blemishes or like Yuzuchi for her lack of makeup. This has always been the case pre-pandemic.
Also useful when you have to stand next to a smelly guy in a crowded train
I am aware many Chinese and Taiwanese people do this too, and maybe Koreans?

She has to talk for 2 hours while keeping the talkative and cheerful persona when I can't even talk to someone 30 minutes straight without me going to the bathroom and crying because of embarrassment-
I think you probably meant to say that you are uncomfortably nervous and self-conscious when talking to people. After all, what would you possibly have to be embarrassed about? Either way, if someone has spent nearly 30 minutes talking to you (or even ten for that matter) then things are obviously going fairly well and you have not yet said or done anything to scare that person off or which you would need to be embarrassed about.
Imagine working in a call center and doing that for 8 hours straight...

Paolo did you know that you're the only one that helps me throw hard and sad times so thanks.👍😎
I've read that modelling jobs are actually much harder than it seems at first glance, even for someone like Yuzuchi. They always have to constantly watch their weight and figure, they're always insecure about their job as there is always the possibility of someone younger and prettier outshining them. It's actually a job that can secretly be very mentally taxing...
Well, that job requires you to look the best you can. An added benefit from that is that outside of work, you will still look 11/10. For people that can commit to it, it's the best job ever :)

SHES LIVING THE DREAM 😭💗✨
Another one watched. I might be addicted to the "day in the life" series :) This one divides opinion, I think. Unless you have been to Japan, or know the culture, it seems odd that someone can make a living doing Cosplay - but it's so popular (especially in Japan), that a living can be made from it. As mentioned tho - it's probably not something you can do indefinitely, but I suspect girls like this will be happy to find another job, as the lifestyle seems more important than earning loads of money - In other words, no desire to work 14 hour days for lots more money. Each to their own ;)

S. I seen some twitchers that are from Japan but they’re either vlogers or Americans who live in Japan . It wouldn’t matter if she didn’t get much Japanese viewers though cause for sure shit load of viewers on the states would watch her and donate a bunch of money. Lonely guys from twitch donate a lot to women twitchers, I know it sounds mean but it’s true.
@@pablosanchez5294 yeah just like belle delphine 😂
And that's another job. She just wants to have this playtime for herself. When you stream, you have to watch about what you say, what you do, reply to donations etc.
@@glizzydestroyer Im not sure she would count as a "Twitch Thot". She is actually playing video games for hours regularly by herself when there isn't money involved in her doing it. Shes a gamer.
I love how everybody in Japan seems so respectful of the way she dresses and her choice of career. In most other countries she would be treated as an outcast and looked down upon. That's what i find fascinating about Japan. People are deeply attached to their traditions and proud of their heritage but in no way dogmatic about it . Respect and decency are at the core of this culture.
In Japan, there is VERY BIG pressure about what you should do as a society member and what kind of work is respected, and guess what - cosplaying is not at the top of that list.
The thing You need to understand is that, in Japan, there is that thing called "tatemae".
People will talking "you're cool", "fine", or "wow incredible", but if You don't meet their expectations about what you are doing in life, they will probably cut contact with you completely.
@@Wiez4 Thank you for your insight.

Good on her for finding a job that allows her a lot of leisure time and relaxation but still pays the bills!

Time to get into cosplay...
damn bro same, coincidence?
Really insightful series! Would love to see a day in the life of:
1. Japanese civil servant/ward office worker
2. Musician
3. Garbage disposal cleaner
4. Fisherman
5. Sumo wrestler
6. Shrine maiden
7. Funeral director
All of those would be really cool to see!
Shrine maiden especially, as I imagine that is a very unique job and of course, very Japanese.
Musician would be awesome, especially one that's "not made it big" yet.
Fisherman... Sumo wrestler... So on...
You have some great ideas and I hope Paolo sees them!
8. javstar
angryengineer1 You dirty dirty person...
Well, I think there was a video in my recommended videos at some point that I didn't watch, but I'm pretty sure it was an interview with some adult star. Not sure if that would be helpful to you, if you're being serious, haha
@@BakaTaco well it should be like this. not an interview but just the hours and about how much work they do.
angryengineer1 I agree. This kind of video let's us see a side that you wouldn't get to see otherwise.
I guarantee there's a lot going on "behind the scenes" for JAVstars and the like.
Day in the life, indeed! Paolo how many hours of sleep did you have after recording this? 😂 Nice videos!
This looks so fun
I don't know what I watched, but I must admit she does have an easy life.
This most likely isn't what she does every day
I hope it's not an everyday thing
I admited that her phone case is sick
I agree i watched alot of day in life of Japanese employees episodes And i can tell the same
@@Der.Geschichtenerzahler Why??
People are so polite in Japan, bowing for each other after a photoshoot. Really nice!
Well it is more the case, if you dont bow you just lost your job.
Just imagine if it was in U.S
Its just normal for them, for westerners it seems overwhelmingly polite
It's just common courtesy for them. Like we have handshakes.
@@user-du2lm6dy5i I like it. Polite is nice. I lived in Tanzania, and there are also a lot of ways of being polite, and it means you can always talk to someone and know what to say. Japan seems even more polite, and I find it soothing. My mother and grandmother both used to say "courtesy costs you nothing."
Hey, Ikebukuro station! I'm more of a fan of Shinjuku/Shibuya, but Ikebukuro is pretty cool too. Anyway, she's really lucky to get paying gigs doing cosplay modeling/livestreaming though, as so many girls in Japan want to do that. The competition is fierce and many of them are lucky to get 1 or 2 low paying gigs a month, and often times even if they livestream for hours will make maybe $10-20.
And the pressure only ramps up as they get older, idols between 14-19 can do well and build a fanbase (it's Japan folks, you'll see full grown men at a 14 year old idols booth all the time), but once they hit 20, every year their prospects and popularity drops. By the time they hit 30, it gets really rough.
Jesus, you've blown up big time! 3 million followers! 7 million views on a video. That's youtube royalty territory, man! Good for you :):) Anyway, love your content, and especially these "Day in the life of" videos. Keep up the great work!
Why does everyone in Tokyo wake up to the same alarm sound?
Most people use iPhones over there and probably just leave it on the default sound.
it mimics the nuclear power plants at fukushima and so makes them get up fast
Luke Jezza fuck you
@@lukejezza3088 bro I'm deceased
That's probably just the video editing, the ramen chef guy seemed to use his non-Apple smartphone for an alarm and since this sound effect was made for iPhone, I'm guessing the ramen chef uses a different alarm sound.
Hence: Probably just the video editing.
"What's your favorite costume?"
Her: This dress from Yosuga no Sora...
Me: Aah. A woman of culture.
