The movie is actually pretty good. Wasn't too cringe, the story was good, and it was fun to watch. If they make a sequel, I hope they don't mess it up but I do want to see Clifford grown up.

Yeah, that peeved me a bit when they have the magic guy tell the girl about how love is what makes him grow. Which sounds fine until they added the magic tear that just accelerates the process. I wish they had shown like 2 year highlight reel where he grows bigger according to their friendship and love for each other. Add in the vet just measuring his growth and being surprised at every turn and the father being just as baffled. Really missed out on the mark with that deus ex tear.

@@camped4993 It's Clifford's origin. He just happened to get big and they're creating a solution to a problem that most readers never had. And it contradicts itself based on what the trailer shows.
I would love more stories involving big lovable dogs that interact with the world and if the writers really wanted to create one involving magic and tears, they can. It just doesn't need to be called Clifford. If anything it takes away from his mythos as it adds a question of whether or not he will shrink should the protagonist falls out of love or loves him less. Or even if the magic can be undone by someone else.
It still looks pretty fun though and overall I do want to see the big red dog again. And in general I enjoy movies with pets. Especially dogs.

My kids loved this film. As a Brit to Americans, how was Jack Whitehall's accent? The film was pretty good. It had a typical 80s let's look at the area montage thing going on in the opening credits, but I guess this was intentional. Lots of gags on different levels, so great for all the family. The CGI was pretty decent, but enough to fall in love with Clifford.
Haven't seen it but so many Brits seem to master the 'American accent'...seems harder the other way around for some reason lol

The film is very childish and is very unfaithful to the series, and how come they didn't let Clifford talk in the film, and stop saying that this film is the best movie of the year! It's annoying! @@Colz_ Do you remember the episode of the TV show where Emily Elizabeth told her class about how she adopted Clifford as a puppy and we saw the flashback sequence about it? She woke up one morning and he was really big, and then the next day he was even bigger, and then even bigger the day after that.
@@curtthegamer934 I'm going to be honest I'm not a real Clifford fan it's just every time I saw an episode that we watch in kindergarten or first grade I always saw Clifford being like 20 feet taller than everyone so any episode that you say do you remember I'm not going to remember sorry.

It just doesnโt make any sense to me im gonna stick to the show cuz Iโm not gonna watching this they turned my childhood show into a weird live action movie not everything needs to be rebooted or live action the people that made this must really need that paper lol

Clifford makes me feel so happy seeing my favorite childhood book come to life . My moms mom read them and she read them to kids she babysat and my cousins and then me and my sis

Looks like they didnโt give the animators the resources to actually animate the dog well. Making everything blurry kind of works in a generic marvel movie, but not here.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this movie kind of breaks Clifford lore.
Emily Elizabeth picked Clifford from a litter of other newborn puppies and was told that he was the runt of the litter and wouldn't grow much bigger than what he was. He wasn't a magical dog, just a regular dog that was small and red. The books and cartoon didn't need to explain why he grew because it wasn't important and didn't matter. Emily Elizabeth loved Clifford and her love for him caused him to grow, pure and simple.
There doesn't have to be a reason for everything, and by doing this they kind of spit on Norman Bridwell's original books and the idea that if you love and care about something enough that anything is possible.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this will be a trainwreck/

I know this movie is gonna be a throw away movie for so many but I am so excited to take my 2 year old to the theatre for the first time!
My son got ear tubes in a few months ago so he can finally hear now. He is so behind in language and talking. But our dog and animals in general have really brought him out of his shell. He loves all dogs. He can give a dang less about a plot line or a backstory He is just excited to see a giant dog on a screen lol!

I've seen some comments that there are early scenes that are potentially scary and traumatic for little kids (some ppl said their 4 year olds cried when Clifford gets separated from his mother and apparently almost run over by a car)
@@erinaa9486 we just saw it a few days ago. He didn't seem to really understand that part when he was seperated but it was sad. The car scene wasn't too bad imo.
My son still can't talk but he has never sat through an entire movie heck I struggled to get him to watch more than 5 minutes of anything he doesn't like tv that much, but he did sit for this one! When we got home he kept grabbing our dogs tail and laughing hysterically like he was expecting to be flung around the house lol.

You're describing the 2000's era, which would be "Clifford's really big movie" (kinda not worth it). Honestly the 2000s Clifford cartoon would of been a better film adaptation to rely on instead of just the books only. This movie feels like its just "WOooOAaHh CliffForD bE caRefUl " for about 80% of it
