Okay, I didn't knew this movie before but when I came to know it is a remake of Forrest Gump movie, I watched it right away and now I'm sure nothing can match the level of the original Tom Hanks movie.
Such a masterpiece this movie is... I don't why people started criticizing this film. It was full of emotions, inspiration and humor. All in all, I just loved it.

where should we begin? India is a very underrated country. i never knew that there are beautiful spots. oftentimes the bad side of the country tradition and people were shown in social media. amhir and kareena were amazing. loved them together from 3 idiots. good actors and chemistry. this indian adaptation of forest gump for me is equally or even better. i found the portrayal of characters much more realistic and the timelines and events fitted perfectly in the movie. really an eye opener, must watch and touching i feel great after watching. i love india and everything in and about it. love from the 🇵🇭

But I can understand since you need to know American history and thr culture really well to understand that movie in depth. This is also a very good movie! Biggest issue is that it polishes the sentiments, lifestyle of Indian society and portrays it on big screens which fails to capture the reality of emotions, persona actual people to people bonding of common Indian ppl in the society. Bollywood creates characters and stories which are soo artificial and materialistic , it makes us thinking can this really happen in our society?

I don't know about the controversies and bollywood. I saw an ad on KRplus of the song 'Main ki Karaan' and i was mesmerized; It was such a beautiful song. I saw the movie for understanding the plot of the songs but I liked the movie too. And the songs, we need to see this really or else these songs will be lost somewhere like many other due to lack of attention. The song 'Kahani' from the movie is so awesome and has such a innocent yet positive vibe and suits the movie and character so good. I still am in awe that people wanted to boycott this movie...

As an English speaker from USA who is just starting to get into India movies, after I saw Bhool Bhulaiyaa I thought it was really good but others who originally saw the original Malayalam movie Manichitrathazhu say that is so much better. Now that I see a movie from USA that is so iconic and original in its time remade to a Hindi version I can understand their feelings somehow.
I'm a British Pakistani and I love forest gump it'd a masterpiece I've just watched laal singh chadda (wasn't going to but so glad I gave it a chance)
It was brilliant yes not at forest gumps level but they've made it their own and taken the story in a slightly different way.
Definitely would recommend it even if its just to compare.
Watch Bhool bhulaiyaa two and you will think the same for bhool bhulaiya

It was brought up on beerbiceps Ranveer show in interview with Ashish Chanchlani (episode 30) as movies they thought were best modern Indian movies. I am watching the movies they mention like Suriya's 24 etc

An Indian remake of Forrest Gump.
Looks good though, and remaking movies/series/stories for other languages/markets/cultures is something that's been done forever. Had it been done right after the US film was released it would have felt a bit forced. But this feels like much more than that, feels like they really thought through how to move the idea and the scenes to an Indian setting.
Yeah i agree, they really did put a lot of efforts to adapt that story into a different culture....but sadly the indian people didn't like the idea of a remake. They thought it was rubbish and never gave it a chance to actually prove itself.

bubba telling about different shrimp recipes and when he dies forest goes to Bubba's home give the money to his family and then starts bubba gump shrimp businesses...that made me cry
Forrest Gump is a masterpiece and there are multiple scenes when the impact of this movie is just so great for ex when Forrests mother is about to die she tells him that chocolate box and life are same, when Lt Dan makes peace with god and goes for swim, when Forrest gives money to Bubba family and Bubbas wife collapses, when Forrest meets his son and the way he asks Jennny is he smart or he is just like me is so impactful.
