They showed off parts like the woman getting her arm bitten and such which would be much more surprising in the cinema. Many movies have basically showed their whole plot through trailers and this one will probably be no exception. It is competing with Lion King after all (its gonna flop hard).
This movie was intense I really enjoyed it and I recommend not watching this on a very rainy day in Florida

I agree with you. I just finished seeing this movie today on Netflix, and I must say that "Crawl" is so much better than I was expecting.
Before watching this film, I really thought that this would be just another 'croc' thriller, or a type of movie that we audiences have already seen a hundred times before (think of reptile horror movies like "Lake Placid" or "Komodo" or "Anacondas").
"Crawl" is surprisingly, really good because the story and the characters, especially the lead character Haley, are very well-written.
I love Haley's character development in the movie. Because in the story, Haley has moments of serious self-doubt. There are times where she's like, "Am I really a winner? Or am I really just a pathetic loser, who is just trying so hard to be a winner?"
Well, we find out towards the ending of this movie, that Haley, despite her failures and disappointments in her swimming bouts at school, Haley, it turns out, is actually a *TRUE* winner, not in school, but a WINNER in life.
Haley is a REAL winner because she's a fighter, she doesn't give up so easily.
She has strength in her heart, and power and great determination in her spirit.
I love the ending shot of this movie, the shot where we see Haley holding in her hand, that brightly burning flare, and holding it above her head for the helicopter to see.
It's really so beautiful because it is so symbolic of her character.
I absolutely love the inspiring and empowering message of this movie. If I could give a rating for "Crawl," I'd give this film 15 gold stars out of ten, simply because of how good and how surprising "Crawl" is. 😊☺😍

This movie was amazing I don't care what anyone else says, this is the perfect movie for me, a minimal but interesting plot, not a lot of main characters, getting to the point right away, and keeping you on your toes till the end - yes, it might not be realistic and a little too much in a lot of its details, but you don't watch movies to criticize and complain, and point out every signle flaw in them, (unless that's your job or something) you watch movies to have a good time and enter a new world/situation there is, and forget about your problems for a while!

I loved crawl, a fantastic movie, very scarey, a true horror movie. A fantastic alligator movie. A perfect movie to watch of a night time. Very dark and for a alligator to attack of a night time during a bad storm makes it even better. Definitely a movie for people who like horror movies. Lots of blood. A great movie to crank up the volume and really enjoy. I live on my own and I loved it. Highly recommended.

I tell you what, for a short movie this was pretty excellent.
I think the running time for crawl is like
1 hour and 27 minutes. When I was sitting there in the movie theaters they did not at least any time to get into the action at all either. I'm hoping that they would do a sequel or a second part to this movie and that's it. I don't want them to ruin it.
The other thing is I wish that they would play this on 📺 most definitely would like to watch it again. I have to get it on dvd.

When the sci fi channel & others on a mega cheap budget aren't making alligator or crocodile film's there have been some good one's & Crawl is one of the good one's...
Like the UK Directed film Neil Marshall " The Descent " was released it used every bit of the claustrophobic environment & in Crawl like The Descent (thankfully) they made sure to have a script with dialogue that the 2 character's have & just because they are kin could've been less enhanced but this was well done & you actually find out a lot about these 2 characters are with some other's that help this become a very re-bonding of the father & daughter & no matter how huge the alligators are & how they are in their environment , as a viewer you wouldnt sit all the way through this movie unless it had the story of a family barely speaking to each other & its that story that wants you to root for them...
Just like in " The Descent " its the love & strong bond between those friends that help them try even more to escape the claustrophobic environment they are in...
Theres definitely been words going around about a follow up to " Crawl " has been annouced but as long as they make the premise & script as tense as the first film or theres no point in doing a follow up...
This is not a spoiler alert & it took me the 2nd viewing to spot this little error (either that or i missed something) but when (character 1) Haley , the daughter , goes under the house to see if her father is there she looks like she cant stand up & the very quick measurements done by ones own eyes can see this by looking at where the sub-structure ends & the house begins it does look like any other small area in a home placed & built on concrete structures through out the full area where this house is sitting on & again Haley cant stand upright but when that whole area has they are trying to get of is slowly raised throught the movie until its at about her mouth level she can clearly be seen standing upright with about another 1 foot of space from the top of her head to the structure of the housr shes crawled underneath at the beginning...
Normally i dont giving a f*ck about continuity or things like Haley being able to stand as does the (character 1) actor playing her father can be seen to be standing upright!..
Films like Crawl/Rogue/Lake Placid/Primeval (which i watched just a few days ago) & an old classic made in 1980 simply named Alligator are along with a few other movies made about alligators or crocodiles are showing you can make a good movie while being in the lower budget range & thankfully there arent too many ongoing constant movies made about them like sharks & i.dont want to even mention the utter rubbish they come up with just to make another shark movie but it cant be a normal shark & has to be mutated in some form or the worst to date the Sharknado film's...
Thankfully are those willing to make better films about sharks/alligators & land animal stalking its prey & if you havent seen " Crawl " & you want to watch something that isnt your usual round up of Christmas film's then yiull enjoy " Crawl "
