It was an absolute legendary film. The whole time during the jets scenes I was on the edge of my seat. Thoroughly enjoyed it throughout.
Absolutely majestic cinematic experience. Especially the first 15 minutes were just so surreal.

@@archiesmanbanerjee9863 Not really. The Su-57 was shown to be really impressive in the movie. They kept reminding us on how dangerous the fifth gen fighter was and how the F-18s can't dogfight with it. It was a very intimidating and maneuverable in the movie. The CGI did the plane justice as well.
@@vkqtran4721 Do you remember that all 3 SU57 were caught on Radar. Whats the 5th Gen Fuss in that? All russian fighters are maneuverable. Imagine if a russian movie shows a Mig 29 smoking a Raptor. That would not go down well.

Being a massive fan of the first movie I had really high expectations for the new one. I can honestly say it hit the bullseye and exceeded my very high expectations, I was an emotional wreck watching it. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this film, a beautiful piece of cinematic history I can watch forever.

Literally the opening of the movie was EXACTLY like the original and I LOVED it. Started to feel the nostalgia and we're not even 1 minute into the movie!

As someone who grew up with my Dad loving Top Gun and listened to In the Danger Zonenearly every day in the car as a kid I never really experienced 80's like he did. He loved it and always felt like Maverick on his motorbike and flying for the Red Arrows. But looking back now and going to watch the film with my Dad one thing he said was "its amazing how your technology makes movies so amazing, this way was better than the first one as you could experience how it felt for us inside a cockpit."
I was blown away by this movie, it doesn't have the 80's feel which the first one has and gives me butterflies, but it is sure full of adrenaline from start to finish! I feel blessed to have gone with my Dad to watch this movie while he is still alive.
The first one MADE in the mid 1980s, so naturally, it had an 80's "feel" to it, using F-14 Tomcats. The fighter jet used today is the Super Hornet, the replacement of the Hornet which in turn replaced the Tomcat shown in Top Gun in the mid 80s.

I normally don't like rewatching a same movie despite it being so good, simply because I already know the storyline. Yet for this film, I went four times in a week to watch it. Probably not that amazing, but it's still quite a shocking decision I've ever made. I seriously never expected a film would get me this hyped. Top Gun: Maverick deserves being called a legendary film. And someday, years will go by and I hope I can revisit my comment here and recall good ol' times.

I don't think I remember a movie with the type of reviews here, most people speak like you about it. I only ended up here because I seen Tom cruise age on some article and I wanted to see his most recent appearance on camera, I can't believe he's 60, wtf the guy is a freak, I'm young looking for 40 but Tom cruise looks like most 40-45 year olds, I'll definitely check the movie out now after all the great reviews here

My dad had watched the first film in theatres. We love watching old school films together and I took him to this film as a birthday event, assuming he was gonna be happy. We were more than happy in the end cause nowadays almost every reunion film or series is ending up being terrible or very disappointing. This second film was like a healing, completing version of the first. Tom Cruise is such a legend, also the director and the producers, the whole crew. Thank you for not ruining this masterpiece and yet contributing a new story to it. After the disappointments I had, this film surprised me and made me so happy! And what I love about the film is it doesn't try to give any social message or try to stay cool and realistic. For example the team is not full of men, there are significant female characters too, but the film is not like "yo, im gonna give her extreme super qualifications so we can say hurray girls are strong" and it doesn't kill anyone however still doesn't feel like a cliche. The whole storyline is very well written, even though there is a life risk for the characters, the atmosphere never gets darker or choking, it is always warm, so are the colours of the scenes. Very very well made film. Shout out to everyone who worked on it.
Tom Cruise has officially ushered in the return to the movie theater! We watched in imax and 4DX. My wife and I preferred IMAX! Either way, go see it in the theater! Refreshingly patriotic! That third act!! WOW!!!
My tears can't stop while watching this movie. A heartfelt movie. I didn't even realize it was a 2 hrs and 11 mins long and I want more.

Man I fkn CRIED!!!!. This was my dad's favorite movie as a veteran who served his country(82nd airborne division, and sergeant in the army) throughout my childhood seeing part 1 so many times i mean this sequel sparked so much emotions and tears I couldn't hold back. Tom the legend!!!! Thank you!
in 1986 I was 16 years old. I grew up with all your films. Today I'm 52 and just watched Top Gun Maverick. Wonderful. Great entertainment. Emotion. Seeing Val Kilmer again made me cry. Again. Navy recruiting saw an increase of 500% the year the original Top Gun launched. Living close to Annapolis in the mid- late 80s, the amount of mids was incredible back then.

You know, I had given up on the crappy movies in the past decade or so in the theaters. Probably hadn’t gone to the theaters in about that time. However, I am EXCITED to go to this movie! I’m 48 and you’re right, this is a rare long awaited sequel that is actually worth going to. Most sequels, especially those longer than a decade, are atrocious. The great thing is I’m heading so many say it’s actually better than the original which is amazing!
...Just in the first scenes some tears fell down (with the music, just in the first “gong of the bell”) I needed to feel that sensation again, remembering that 16 years old child...and, All you that participated in the movie made it possible. WHAT A FILM. The moment when Maverick demonstrates that is possible to do the mission, oh man, once again all me turned crazy (the best and thrillest scene of the movie)

It feels like more than just a movie, it’s a spectacle, it’s a thrill, it’s a unique experience. I’ve maximised the experience myself by going to the cinema seeing this movie in IMAX and Dolby Atmos 5 times
I liked the first, I liked the second even more.
Best viewed in 2D and IMAX.
It was well made for fans with plenty of depth and reflection, it’s not crass like the fast and furious films.
Last half hour is ridiculously filled with action, people were engaged till the end.

I went backward and watched Top Gun again. My goodness Tom Cruise was a baby! He was so young. But then 36 years later he does it again, and oh my goodness he still looks so young! You can’t fake youth in arms, neck, chest, …anyone can get a face lift but wow he looks exactly the same (delts are a smidge less pronounced-but I think it looks better)!

My brother and I saw this Movie yesterday and it was just amazing. Tom Cruise did an incredible job with the jets and training all the Actors to fly. Everyone in the cast was on their A Game. Nice to see such a patriotic movie.

I loved this movie so much it was so beautiful breathtaking I cried and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Wow so thankful for everyone that has protected our country what they do everyday putting there life on the line and the great actor Tom cruise and lady Gaga for such an amazing song that went with this movie. I never seen the first movie but my grandpa when he was alive his last movie he watched was top gun so I had to go and watch it for all the veterans in my life as well. Absolutely special nothing can be made like this film right here ladies and gentlemen. Man what a legendary movie. Thank you for bringing back what a good movie is as well. Deserves so much awards and praise and God bless

I am so thankful for this sequel, the actors, the crew, everyone who had a part in this film and of course Tom! I watched the original film in the 80's, it was a big part of my childhood and I have a been a big fan ever since. This sequel nearly brought me to tears. One word, Masterpiece.
Tom Cruise just raised the bar very very very high. He is one of a kind.
