@@beeto45 There's a movie I saw yesterday on Netflix, apparently it's alot like this one. Basically the exact same premise, and there's a scene at the start where a woman with a baby is kicked out of a subway train because of the noise and they get her.
The movie is "The Silence". It's really good, so I looked up this one which was apparently very similar.

@@beeto45 I watched A Quiet Place just last night. While the premise is very similar in paper, they really aren't. I really enjoyed The Silence, but Quiet Place feels far, far more tense. It feels like there's a lot more stake, and there's also key difference on how they're already settled for well over a year and they really know how to survive. The creatures here are far scarier and threatening, while the ones in The Silence are mostly threat in numbers.
But are really good movies, either way. The Silence just feels a lot shorter and that there isn't as much world expansion.

Sharonda Tanner if anything Bird Box should be compared to The Happening. Bird Box and A Quiet Place are so different from each other and plus I think A Quiet Place is much better. Bird Box had some great moments but I was trying not to laugh at how bad it was many times while watching it.

The theatre audience was dead quiet when this teaser was playing, so the atmosphere was truly surreal. The teaser probably didn't seem special at all for deaf viewers lol.

Deaf people go to the movies all the time, some theaters show movies with subtitles, there's even some movies made for deaf people where everyone uses sign language, back in Highschool when I took an ASL class I watched a few of them, and the movies are still great without sound.

Man, if there is actually *no* spoken dialogue in this film and no subtitles for their sign language, then this is going to be an interesting film. In a good way.
My Red Is Brown it's just a teaser trailer, so they'll probably add subtitles. but i would assume no spoken dialogue until maybe the very end, and possibly expositional points that show how they learned to be quiet.

My Red Is Brown i'd rather have subtitles. without them, the movie has no context, no true plot other than "escape" with no reasoning behind it, and no character development, really. the premise of the teaser is good, but to have a truly good movie you have to have those things.

You or your brother wouldn't happen to know what John says in the trailer would you? I know the dinner conversation isn't really important to the plot but I'm pretty conversational in ASL so it bothers me that I can't quite translate it.
I posted this yesterday "What do they sign in the trailer? I think Emily signs "TIME YOU COOK" and but its hard to tell what John signs. It looks like "FIRE FINE FATHER SAYS (or YOU)" I'm from the East Coast so regional difference (and the lack of context) makes me think I'm misinterpreting him. The 5 handshape on the shoulder is really what trips me up. Help Please! Lol I really want to know!"
The lady is saying next time you cook I think and the guy said wait for your mom so it's clear the whole scene was cut for trailer purposes. This isn't perfect ASL so that's why it could be a little different from what I think she said.
I can see how u thought she said time you cook it could possibly be that. But he isn't saying fire for sure. That's the sign for wait and he said your and mom for sure. Idk if that was meant to be a sentence or if it was cut so much it didn't make sense...or the sign language was wrong haha.

Frank Lesher I know this oh too well. Silence has a way, for me at least, of being a scream. I've had a too many serious things happen in a quiet time that were utterly terrifying (probably why this teaser unnerved me a bit) I have to have a pretty consistent noise, even a small vibration like the sound of a ceiling fan, around at all times lol
el jay lol no doubt. Helping raise my godson and his brother I know what you mean. It's not an all the time thing, I can sit and read a good book in silence and be a-okay and when it's too loud my anxiety kicks in. I just can't sit alone in complete silence sometimes. Meditation has helped but I don't know, certain moments I guess I feel more secure with it, silence that is, than others lol.

omg the movie kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! it felt like just 10 minutes instead of the length it had, that's how much i was into the story haha.. i didn't understand their conversations, which was a little frustrating, but the rest of the movie more than made up for that.. nailbiting awesome!!

Hahaha, when I entered the cinema silence welcomed me it was soooo quite. No one dared to make any sound which makes it much thrilling and suspense. It was a really great movie never really expected the twist in the end.
I legit got so caught up in the movie that when someone text me it made me jump and for a split second I thought “NO SOUND!”

Wow, it looks like Hollywood came up with a refreshingly original concept for once. I hope the movie holds up to the trailer. I almost get a creepypasta vibe from this. The atmosphere is non-generic yet familiar, the implied monster is kept from our sight and is displayed only through a single scene featuring claw marks, and the family can so easily make a mistake that can kill them all off, which creates an heir of suspense and legitimate risk, and thus, a form of pure fear, as opposed to the dime-a-dozen slasher movies. Not to mention the cast looks good, especially with the inclusion of Emily Blunt an Jon Krasinski. Looking forward to release day :)

It really is rare to see an instant/soon-to-be-immortalized-as-history-progresses/ classic unfolding before your very eyes. I am so glad that I got a ticket to see this film on one of the many Saturday nights in the summer of '18, just so I can claim that I first saw it in theatres. I hear people who were lucky enough to watch Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and The Shining when they were in their initial theatrical runs brag about their experience, and they all held onto their stubs. I have the stub from this one locked away in a stash box, because I'm sure it'll be worth money in the future.
Would have liked to have seen John Krasinkis's involvement on the release since it's his directorial debut. This is one well executed film that would have benefited from a director's commentary. A great movie!

Alex King I know. And without a lot of dialogue, which is indented towards the middle of the page, reading this script must’ve felt really long because it was mostly just one giant action paragraph
This has a great cast, and, looks genuinely scary. Really creepy atmosphere. I will definitely check this out. Emily Blunt is awesome.
