Hey Guys, yes I know the apple battery pack has a higher voltage. The Anker still has a higher capacity than the Apple Battery pack. For $100 I'd love to see what Anker could produce.

It’s not actually triple, the apple battery has a has a higher voltage. The anker has about 30% more battery. Which makes sense as it’s a chunkier unit.

@@chongxina237 if you factor in the size, they basically hold a similar level of charge for their size. basically the apple is approx 1500mah X 2 (due to being double the voltage, so if you compare them like for like, its like having a 3000mah (apple) vs 5000mah (anker). but remember the anker is a bigger sized unit, so of course its going to fit a bigger battery. the anker is ofcourse better value for the money. But from a technical side the anker really isn't "better", its just a bigger unit. in fact the anker has a rubbish magnet - the whole point of this video...

I have an Anker portable charger from 2017, and still works amazingly!
anker does make some good stuff tho. i've had two of their speakers, both of which have lasted upwards of 2 years

I remember working at Walmart, stocking the shelves with fresh new Anker products maybe 5 years ago. I'm really surprised how it went from a fraction of the isle to almost a WHOLE isle. Their quality and price really is something to admire.

And they started out on Amazon from my understanding.
I've been using their soundcore life q20 headphones for around a year and a half now, for 50 euro it's one of the best noise cancelling headphones you can get
I've been buying Anker products for years now. Batteries, cables, earphones and dash cam. All good.
Nobody said that their products were not great…
But actual more modern anker products are made „cheap“ and sometimes very dangerous (like the very small adapter which can fall apart and you can touch live wires easily and unintentionally)

It was never about phones, it was about computers. Harddrives, which are less common in new home computers, have spinning metal discs along with a metal piece that reads from the discs. When putting a magnet near a harddrive it can damage the harddrive, which is where the magnet recommendations came from.

I've still got some in my computer lol. The drives themselves are 13+ years old and they haven't crashed yet. But the past few months one makes a funny noise when spinning up or slowing down. Sounds like vibrating or the motor going out slowly.

It was probably sent to him for free by a viewer or he bought a irreparable one off Facebook Marketplace or something like that for cheap, and uses them to give new life to customers items or his own. Pretty smart imo, environment conscious too.

Is the copper coil in the anker attached to the battery pack you lifted or is it embedded in that ring of magnets (thinking magnets are located on outside of coil)?
Since the wireless charging works off induction, you want the copper coil in the phone's battery to be as close as possible to the coil inside the portable charger's battery.
Therfore, adding that second magnet increases the distance between the two coils and actually lowers the charging efficiency (there would be a larger air gap and air has a higher reluctance than iron).
Cool short though, like seeing the inside of these things.
Could the magnets negatively affect the magnetic field, do they enhance it or do they not affect the field at all?
You can see the coil is against the frame with the original magnets, not attached to the battery

Anker is honestly one of my fav charger and cord brands glad to see others giving them some love
The LifeDot wireless earbuds I have from them are AMAZING. And I also have the Soundcore Bluetooth speaker, which is also a great quality for a budget.
They also make some of the best speakers, Motion Boom 2x than JBL Xtreme and 3x cheaper
How do you know if adding all the extra magnets isn’t out of spec for “mag-safe” and could possibly damage the phone.
Can't damage the phone, might mess with the compass while in use but shouldn't damage it.

The only problem i can think of is the magnet moving inside and accidentally cutting the battery.

If you do this wouldn't you need to buy BOTH? And thus ending up spending more. The only good solution to this is to get a 2nd hand or broken Apple pack.

The Anker pack still stays on just fine, you just can't hold your phone and shake it or it drops off, which why would you want to break it anyway, it's just for views. As well you could buy significantly stronger magnets than are in apple pack for a lot cheaper than 100$

Like if there’s an issue with trying to connect the anker battery to the Apple board, he could do what he did in this video, and swap over the battery controller boards… since at a basic level, all batteries just have + and - contacts

The voltage on the Apple battery-pack is double the voltage from the anker, so the real capacity is „only“ roughly double on the Anker. Apple 11Wh / Anker 19Wh

Actually you could easily exchange the magnets. They seem to me same width so you'd only need to cut the small plastic walls that separate each magnet on the Anker and super glue the apple magnets in place.

A wireless charging battery bank sounds like one of the most inefficient power transfering methods, the compromises Apple just springs out due to their "modern" design choices are ridiculous. "Oh lets save space by removing the headphone jack, and if you wanna use headphones you either buy Bluetooth headphones or you use this ugly adapter that we'll call a dongle to sound hipp, oh and you wanna charge your phone while listening to music and you don't wanna buy Bluetooth headphones then just use the wireless charging which is one of the most wasteful ways of transferring energy, and lets say were eco friendly by removing the chargers from phones and charging people to buy a plastic sealed charger."

How many times does it have to be said, the MagSafe battery pack is 2920mAh not 1460mAh because it has double the volt at 7.62v vs the typical 3.81v. It’s also quite a lot more efficient than Ankers so the overall charging capability is far closer than you make it out to be. Would’ve thought you out of all people wouldn’t be spreading misinformation like that 🤦♂️
2 cells of 1460 mah make up that one battery and the final mah of battery would still be 1460 but voltage will be double means more watts

The cells are in series so it's still 1460 mah , if it were in parallel the voltage would be in half but the mah would increase. A better unit of measurement in this case would be measuring the Watt-hour in each of them.

I have the mophie power bank, it’s the same price as the anker one. it’s a lot more compact and has good magnets. It holds a decent charge too.
