Man, this one hit me in the tear ducts. I adopted a black cat named Sweetie. I wanted her because I knew black cats aren’t adopted for silly reasons. She was naturally small and she loved us and we loved her. She passed away long ago but I still miss her.
I have black cat named starry night, she had 2 white spots. She makes me feel good, and helps me through rough days.
I'm an old man and didn't realize until recently that it is hard to find a home for a black cat. If I outlive our current cat family, adopted as a mom cat and 2 tiny kitten a few years ago, I will try to find a black cat next.

Lee Bordenet sadly, yes. Folks are superstitious or they don’t think their cute, so they aren’t adopted as often. I hope you live so long you’re able to rescue multiple black kitties 🙂❤️.

Thanks to both of you for making this!!!!! Pitbull abuse is something that happens too often, and this is so strong and important. Even people in my own family dislike pitbulls because they are used for fighting. Thank you, truly from the bottom of my heart.
I think the cat represents US, taking the dog at face value and coming around to the idea that it is the owners of Pit Bulls that make bad dogs not the dog itself
I loved it such a sweet animation and now im sat here crying thanks for that. such a good message not just the connection and friendship thing but also the awarness of animal cruelty and welfare.

I want to thank everybody on this short SO MUCH. I own a Staffy, and watching this, I'm still crying after twenty minutes. Because you took the most misunderstood type of dog there is and showed not only the cruelty this breed endures, but the sweet, gentle, sensitive and trusting nature of them. And when I saw those scratches on him, my heart sank like lead, and I started sobbing. I was openly cheering for him to escape, I was overjoyed with their new owner. I haven't cried this much at ANY short film I've EVER seen, despite being a huge fan of them. Thank you so much for shining a light on the beautiful Pitbull-types, and thank you for delivering the most heartfelt, touching and gripping short film I have ever seen.
Whether you intended to or not, you made a beautiful film about two very misunderstood animals: bull terriers and black cats. I have both (and I make a point to always have a black cat from a shelter) and the are the lights of my life. Thank you for this heartbreaking and making film. See you at the Oscars!

But remember pitbulls are animals and need to be trained for their behavior they are a hard breed to take care of but very beautiful

Yes Nirvana Sylvia’s that’s amazing ! I have of my own who my family and I refused when he was very very sick and close to death. I also have 3 cats and one of the cats is best friend with my pit. They just need a lot of love and that’s it.
Your story is amazing behind true friendships. As a rescuer and foster mom of dogs and help run a rescue for both dogs and cats we commend you on adding the dark parts of the mistreatment of animals to bring it to light in the mainstream. Friendships and connections are so important in life and it's just as important for animals. As soon as the dog entered the video I started crying because I knew but by the end I was shedding tears of happiness because that's how I feel everytime I find my fosters a new home. You may not have meant to make such a big impact on the rescue community but you did and we love it! THANKS FROM HEART AND HOME ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION!

cannot say thank you enough for shining light onto the pitbull breed. this film brought me to tears. i love my pitbull and this film is absolutely amazing and an easy way to show children to love without boundaries!

Thank you both so much for this creation! I have tears streaming down my face right now. I almost couldnt handle it when the dog was thrown out of the house after being used to fight. I was so happy when they became friends. I simply didnt know what I was going to do with myself if they didnt escape and find a loving human. Thank you for that deservedly happy ending. He is now about to turn 5 years old, sweet as can be, with a family who loves him. You have shown the world that being rough around the edges does not make anyone devoid of love or compassion. Thank you for being the voice of dogs like mine. Stedman and I thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.

Amazing work, Rosana! I loved the short so much and it's wonderful to see 2D animation used to its full effect. There's such a charm to it. The animal movement came across so beautifully. You could see how much work had been put into characterising those little movements. Can't wait to see more of your work!

Yes 'Brava' from me too Rosie, The story was so beautifully balanced and the artwork style so ground breaking and perfect for this story. I am an artist animator myself { now happily retired from games industry }and I know the many talents that have to come together perfectly to produce something like this, but the writer director has to be way ahead of their game to make something as perfect as this was.Very well done from the bottom of my heart, you will do great things and this { along with the wonderful 'Perl' } deserves awards, they were both perfect

Very emotional and timely for those of us who have been following the story of "Tommie" the pitbull in Richmond Va. who was abused and burned.
Also the little kitten reminded me of "Nano" from TinyKittens. Nano lost his life to a congenital defect-but saved his mama and siblings.
Even though "Tommie" and "Nano" did not survive, they have brought out much love ❤️ in our communities.
This is the ending we all wanted for "Tommie" and "Nano". Thank you for delivering this heartwarming vision.

I know it's a cartoon, but this is extremely realistic animal behavior.
Been doing animal rescue for 15 years. I've seen a lot of horrible things. We're forced to inoculate ourselves or risk drowning in our own sorrows.
