Seriously, with each one of these they took it down to basic. Why should Toy story be anything else other than a story about toys? Why can't Mike Wazowski just be a green ball? Why should we pay a boatload of money when one of our own animators (RIP) does it perfectly?

Nolan T Technically Mike was at his simplest with no arms, but yeah I agree.
I believe the director, Brad Bird, brought in Lily Tomlin to audition for the voice of Edna. He acted out how she would sound and Tomlin convinced Bird that HE should do the voice. Which is was he did.
Except some of the earlier designs were better.

It was a good idea but I think that it would defeat the purpose of the film and ruin the abandonment issues the toys had when Andy grew up.

Kinda wish we got A Bug’s Life 2. Audiences need to be reminded of what a big deal it was back in 1998. It sadly remains in the 20th century, unlike toy story

Bug's Life is my least favorite PIXAR film, but if they made a sequel (after a long pause from sequels of course) I probably would become super excited. I don't think this is going to happen though, because PIXAR has put so much time and energy onto so many more greater films since, that Bug's Life will probably slip to the back of their memories, not ever given the proper evaluation needed for a sequel. Then again, maybe someday, someone will go watch it with their kids, and just start thinking.
That movie was bad, only milenias praise it.
Not everything needs a sequel though, especially if the story wrapped up well.
Admittedly, A Bugs Life is my least favourite Pixar movie from before Disney bought Pixar (Cars was the last film Pixar made before being bought by Pixar btw), but it is better than some of the film's from Pixar's dark age (2011-2015).

Cool music... That I recognize! This is Junkie XL's work! First heard his music from SSX Blur, a great Wii game about extreme mountain snowboarding/skiing if you don't mind the motion controls! It's nice to see two unrelated things I like connect in a cool way! A Pixar fact video with Junkie XL music... Awesome!
And about the video, pretty cool things to learn about what was thought up before the final product! Always keep searching for better ideas and pick out the best idea when it's time!
Edna started out taller...? And about Heimlich's actor... fascinating! Just about anyone can give a voice to a character, I love that!
I love the idea of the early Toy Story 3 Opening, it's such a neat concept and I wished they'd utilized it in some way.

Watching this now, I realized some of these scrapped ideas had (or could) actually got develop into a whole new different film. Take example in Up. Two brothers + mythical city = Onward (2020)

Well, Newt was struggling in production. As a result, Pixar brought in Pete Doctor to help fix the problem. He decided to give them a new movie pitch for Inside Out. So technically, Newt is Inside out and we did get information about Newt after all.

P1XRK1NG Retroman out of all the Pixar films aside from the Incredibles, this movie actually NEEDED a sequel. This movie is undeservingly one of Pixar’s lesser known movies. With a sequel they could’ve explored more with the insect world as the animation advanced. It could’ve been a franchise that could’ve been as good as toy story
P1XRK1NG Retroman what do they do instead? Give sequels to movies that don’t need one, like Cars and Toy Story 3. Toy story 3 ended the trilogy flawlessly and it is absolutely astounding that they wanna make a fourth film, which is facing struggles because of John Lasseter‘ six month leave, departure of one of the writers and one year delay.
Also Cars sold a ton of toys so of course it would get sequels and spinoffs.

As someone who values the behind the scenes just as much as the movie, I already knew most of these. I'd have to say out of all the bts I've seen, The Little Mermaid has the best. Disney, please do more like that. :D
