Tenodera can actually mate for a very long time. The longest a pair has mated with me was 41 hours. I'm pretty sure Wiki was so determined to mate was because Kiwi was well fed and healthy, she can defend herself and produce lots of eggs so his sperm pack will not go to waste.
Also, this mating could've be successful because seeing if there is a white lump on her tail can be unreliable, but to be safe, you can do the mating multiple times.
I miss read what you wrote and thought you were doing the mating with them and I was like "wat" glad that's not what you meant
Edit: so people don't make my mistake, the commenter is saying that they have a pair Tendera that had mated. With him just means he owns them

Ours mated. Hundreds of babes and three rounds (only 2 successful) of ootheca. They're tiny and jump everywhere! It's so much fun to observe. Unfortunately, our female ate the upper half of our male after mating for the 3rd attempt. Good luck!
