My mantis, Kiwi, with me for 7 months!
After several molting, the Kiwi became an adult, and after mating with the male praying mantis, Wiki, they laid several eggs.
Most mantises die in November, but if you are lucky, you can live until the next year.
I work hard to take care of Kiwi, but Kiwi is getting weaker.

평소에 사마귀의 모습을 좋아하지 않았는 데, 이 영상을 보면서 생각이 바뀌었습니다. 자신을 키우는 주인을 알아보는 듯한 표정이 인상적입니다. 마지막 장면이 2022년 1월 1일인데. 지금은 키위가 하늘 나라로 갔겠죠. 사랑과 관심을 가지고 키우는 곤충도 남다른 면이 있습니다. 영상 감사합니다.

대단하다 처음엔 단순히 한사람이 호기심처럼 그냥 키우나했는데 잘 키웠고 아주 훌륭한 교육자료가 될정도로 잘했고 고생하셨습니다..
지금까지 제가본 유튜버영상중에 제일신선한충격이였습니다. 사마귀에대한 선입견이 바뀔정도입니다. 쓰담쓰담하실때 사마귀눈망울이 초롱초롱한게 인상적이네요 영상넘좋았습니다.*_*

한편의 다큐를 본 것 같아요~ 사마귀가 애완용으로 가능할지 상상해본적이 없는데 놀라운 대리 경험입니다. 아마 제일 행복한 여생을 보낸 최초의 사마귀가 아닐까 싶습니다.
사마귀한테 물리면 혹처럼 생긴다해서 기겁했는데 그게 아니었네요. 오히려 온순하니 보면 볼수록 귀엽진 않지만 꼭 주인을 알아보는듯 행동하는게 신기하네요. 너무 소중한 시간내주어서 만들어주신 영상 너무 잘 봤습니다. 감사드려요. 사마귀의 일생을 20분으로 볼수있다니 끈기와 인내에 박수를 보냅니다.
아마도 사람에게 익충인 사마귀를 보호하기 위하여, 어린 아이들이 무분별하게 잡는것을 막기 위한 어른들의 지혜가 아니었나 생각해봅니다. ^^

Video popped up in my recommendations. Didn't expect to watch the whole thing but I did. The Praying Mantis is my favorite insect I'd say. The way she hopped up onto you with hardly a second thought just makes me think it was meant to be. lol You gave her a good life I think.

I had a mantis just like this one, also came to me extremely willingly and honestly acted as though ti chose me as a caregiver. I fed it every pest bug found in or around my house! Never bit me. Always chill. Great pet!!

What a great legacy Kiwi is leaving behind with all those eggs! I kept many mantis as pets over the years. They do form relationships with people and are really fascinating to watch. Loved the name Kiwi ❤

Female animals are incredible. They do most of the work in nature and carry the world on their shoulders. Fantastic video!
Males get screwed over quite a lot in different species
@@ejosjek52.87 So do females, but that's not my point. I was referring to the fact that most of the animal kingdom and the natural world is nurtured and kept in balance by females. They go through birthing pains and make animals out of their own bodies, they dedicate their entire life to nurturing others, they're the teachers and protectors and they risk their own life every day in order to ensure the perpetuation of the species ON TOP of being screwed over and essentially harassed by most males they encounter.
Have you see what a stray female dog in heat goes through? I live in a country where it's not rare to see strays on the street and every time there's a female dog in heat there's at least 10 males running after her trying to mate, fighting one another and sometimes injuring her in the process as well. After copulation ensues she gets to take care of everything else while the males go after other females. This is true for most mammals. A lot of males's only purpose is to offer the sperm to the female and they don't burden themselves with any of the beforementioned things.
I feel like Kiwi will become the world's longest living Mantis at this point, if she isn't already
And with all this documentation, PleaseBee could just as well go to an official record company like Guinness world records and even verify it!

I loved keeping mantids, they're so very interactive and curious. Be careful with feeding insects from outside though, wildcaught prey might contain pesticides or parasites and could be dangerous for your mantis. Thank you for uploading!

That would be special...but she would likely eat them if she could reach them. Maybe she will see them through a clear wall, if she is healthy that long.
I think my wish for her is that her offspring are all healthy, even if she doesn't get to meet them. If she is able to feel pride, I expect she must be very proud of herself! 😌💚 (& she is right to be!)
@@zestyconversation I'm a mantis breeder, I have tried seeing what happens if a mother mantis sees her bebes, and they always seem curious about them, not trying to eat them, like they know what they are
@@beepboop7219 Very surprising! Given their tendencies towards cannibalism & knowing how some brood inverts are about their young, I expected different behaviour, but that's probably not an uncommon assumption lol.

출산도 산란도 개체에게 적지않은 무리를 주는데 ㅠ 영상으로나마 키위에게 정이 들었네요.. 한번의 짝짓기로 건강한 6차알까지 낳고 쌩쌩하게 먹이도 먹어주다니 기특하기도 하구 ㅋㅋ 탈피 직후의 귀뚜라미도 처음 보는데 너무 귀여워요 ㅋㅋ
This is so much like my experience. I one day in September (years ago) I was outside and saw a large mantis walking strangely. I noticed he had part of his hind leg missing. I thought to myself "With a leg like that he'll certainly become pray." I scooped him up and created a terrarium home for him out of an old miniature glass greenhouse. I named him Giovanni, for a while, until through my mantis research I learned he was a sheep so she became Genevieve. People look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them the story but I seriously loved that big. She was so interactive with me. I caught most of her food and she thrived in my care all the way to the end of February. When she passed I buried her in my flower garden. I'm glad you were able to have this experience too.
This channel has taught me more about the lives and amazingly personalities of insects than any show ever has. Looking back on your life with Kiwi made me tear up when she willingly hopped into your hand and climbed up your arm. And please PleaseBe never change your music! Welcome to 2022 Kiwi!!

So many memories of Kiwi. Could you imagine how lucky you are, pleasebee? Kiwi is very lucky to live for 7 months. Now I know for sure that you are a pro bug catcher. When the new mantises come out, what are you gonna name them? I can’t wait till the eggs hatch! 😝
That will be a lot of names! 😂 Typically mantis nymphs will prey on each other for their first few stages, but maybe PleaseBe will prefer to release them early in the season & only keep one or two.
It will be some time until then of course 💚
