A praying mantis, Kiwi, who has safely finished its 4th spawn and is in good health.
December is over now, but fortunately Kiwi is doing well.
But one day, something bad happened to Kiwi.
Kiwi did her 5th spawn and laid very small, unhealthy eggs.

작은 알을 낳는게 수명이 거의 끝났다는 징조에요..ㅠ 5번째 산란이면 더더욱..그래도 지금까지 산거도 정말 오래산거같아용 다른 사마귀들은 12월되기전에 떠나더라구요ㅜ

아기는 수백마리 태어나는데..그 수백마리에 성체까지 자라는데 몇마리도 안될겁니다. 야생에서 자란다고 과정을 보면 말이지요

@Tara Sanders very true that the love and care PleaseBee gave to Kiwi helped her live longer, I used to raise mantises like this growing up and I think the longest living mantis I ever had only lived till about November 20th-ish. For a mantis to make it to Christmas is incredible, if kiwi makes it to 2022 I think she might set a world record

It is normal for a mantis to lay an incomplete or irregular oothecae from time to time. Going by the clip at the beginning, Kiwi looks to be doing very well. She seems alert, active and responsive. I can see all of her tarsi (the feet parts) are intact, and in an aging mantis those are usually the ones to go first.
You've given Kiwi a wonderful life, and a longer life than usual, so when the time comes that she does pass on, be proud of her!

얼마전 읽은 글귀 중에 “삶이 소중한 이유는 언젠가 끝나기 때문이다” 란 글이 있었는데 특히 애완동물이 수명이 우리보다 짧기에 먼저 떠내보내야만하는 우리에게 더 많은 부분을 생각하게하는 글귀인것 같아요! 키위도 하루 하루 건강히 잘 지내다 편안히 여생을 마감했으면 하네요.

It would be extremely disappointing if Kiwi already died. Let's pray that Kiwi would have at least a longer life to love. When Tears died, i was crying already.
