I brought two snails, and from today I have been given an amazing gift.
Snails eat non-irritating vegetables and fruit peels such as carrots and lettuce.

I lost my pet snail taro, he died 2 years ago and I was heartbroken!! He was very sweet and come out of his shell as soon as he notices me, I miss taro...he was on hibernation back then and I didn't knew he was sick until he started to liquify all of a sudden...It was too late when I noticed because I had to go away for awhile, when I came back he turned like a slime ToT

@@mrbenji6267 It was hard for me but as a pet owner, we should always consider that they wouldn't last forever by our side and we should accept that...I'm happy enough that i gave him a pleasant life even though i just picked him on a sidewalk, I really cherished his presence with me during the years ^~^

i remember as a child i used to feed some snails that were in front of my house. always gave them some lettuce and before i went back inside, i gave them a little boop. now, there aren't that many snails around, especially since it doesn't rain that often now. i miss my snail friends :(

i love snails, i was obsessed with them, i would bring them to school. then one day i had a reallyyyy small one and i was on the bus and i let a girl borrow my 2ds and then i took it back and she kept asking for it again and then i said no and then she stole my snail and stepped on it…

I put a paper cut in my snail tank once so they could hide in it on my first day of keeping snails, they ate the paper cup and were pooping pink and white for weeks

Cuties! I had a pet snail for a little over 5 years, they make some very sweet, low-maintenance pets. :)
what do they eat?? i live alone in a dorm and its been getting quite lonely so i would like a pet like a snail but I'm barely home between my classes and work..
@@momosiro31 I'd feed mine lettuce leaves, apple/pear/tomato/cucumber slices, and strawberry/cherry/grape chunks. They also need a source of calcium for their shell; your best option is the cuttlefish bones they sell at pet stores for birds, just break it into smaller chunks (aproximately 1 inch x 1 inch in size will suffice).
You also need to buy some substrate for their terrarium. I recommend coconut husk or coconut fiber; it's cheap, easy to find at any pet shop, and it provides humidity for your slimy friend. They are sold as bricks that you gotta put in water for about half an hour, and they remain moist for a few days. Change it once a week.
I'd also keep a spray bottle with water to provide extra humidity (I'd spray my snail's terrarium once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once in the evening). Alternatively you can just place a shallow dish with water inside the terrarium.

I actually have African snails of my own! :D they are called Gummy and Bear and they have just recently laid their first clutch of eggs! Bear has laid 224 and gummy had laid 180! And they have all just started to hatch this morning! I’m so excited for baby snails ( although we can’t keep all of them because 90% of them will be runts )

Important notice for any potential snail keepers: it's not a good idea to sprinkle calcium powder on the snails' food as they'll be unable to regulate their calcium intake that way. Always keep a calcium source with your snails (such as cuttlefish bones), then they'll nom on it when they're in need of calcium.
Also, generally try not to pick them up by their shells alone. The snail is attached to the rest of its internal organs in its shell with a single muscle and too much force on that can damage it, when a snail is stuck on a surface.

They dont sleep for 3 years, they CAN sleep for 3 yrs.
They usually sleep every day and are active at night as they are nocturnal, they will sleep long if conditions isnt right.
