Yeah, Kiwi didn't break her neck, she just had her head facing down. When Kiwi spreads her wings and shows the colours between her forearms, it's her defense mechanism where she tries to look as big and intimidating as she possibly can. Kiwi probably just confused the mealworm to be something else.
Kiwi actually does look like an elderly insect, you can see pale areas shes getting and wrinkles. It's sad but kind of beautiful at the same time that she's lived so long.
I hope the next egg lays well.. i would never thought that Kiwi might live longer with 3 eggs but now she is having 4 eggs! I wonder what is Wiki's reaction look like and im think Wiki reaction will be like this: 3 eggs.. going to be 4.. take care of them pleasebe! So i think in any day REALLY in any day the egg should be ready and ready to be born! Hope Kiwi stays well when its now winter!

I met a mantis AND held one for the first time today!! It was hanging out on the floor and my dog almost stepped on it 💀 I gave it a hand and it hopped on it without hesitation. It seemed like it was having difficulties or something like it couldn't move well. It was so cute too lol I left it on my mom's plants
Mealworms *can* have mutations. I've been raising them as pets for almost 3 years now, and i have seen dearest beetles come and go quickly... Mealworm beetles are Tenebrionidae. They have a lot of personality. Healthy beetles emit a soft pheromone that should smell the same on most individuals, from my experience. TIP: Don't feed them asparagus, their poop still stink *_endlessly._* By the way, i fed by mantises their first grasshoppers 2 days ago! They almost exploded, it's so much food... Violent, too. But i AM winging it, my mealworms are not mantis food; I do have rice flour beetles from The Silkworm Shop. I catch whatever i can for my mantises, such as houseflies, in the past; moths, wild beetles, etc.

1:59 Pupas are the cutest, if you want it to become a beetle steadily, *_DON'T_* put it in tongs, avoid grabbing it, and make sure the mealworms are eating nutritious foods and/or protein so that they won't eat the pupa.

My female Carolina mantis is the same way,she’s definitely elderly,but she still seems happy and eats well.
She died Jan 12 or 13 this year
