On July 4, Pledis Entertainment released an official statement to the press, confirming former After Schoolmember and former 'Produce 48' contestant Kaeun's departure from the label.

First, we sincerely thank the fans for always cherishing and cheering on our artist Kaeun. We notify you that as of July 6, 2019, our exclusive contract with Kaeun will come to an end, and we will end our management of the artist.
Kaeun debuted as a member of After School back in 2012, promoting in a variety of fields as an artist under Pledis for approximately 8 years, and we are greatly thankful that where ever she was, she gave her best efforts. Ahead of her contract expiration, we talked over the topic of renewal with Kaeun. We were able to confirm our mutual respect and trust for each other, and discussed the renewal in great depth. However, as we shared differing opinions in directions, we agreed to a beautiful goodbye instead of a renewal. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Kaeun for trusting in our company and walking in the same path during all this time.
Until Kaeun is able to find a new label, Pledis plans on providing her with management necessities required to continue her promotions.
Furthermore, on July 5, Kaeun plans on releasing a thank you single to express her feelings toward fans. I just thought that since they both can perform very well individually and jive harmoniously just by themselves, I think it's best if they debut as a duo bc if trainees who aren't in their level of confidence, talent, and stage presence would debut with them, I'm afraid the others would be overshadowed. It would be like Gaeun, Yunjin and friends, or worse, just Gaeun and Friends.

It took me a while to realize that Kaeun-Yunjin not make it to the final is a blessing, imagine if Kaeun make it to the group what will happen to Yunjin? She might be back to US or debut with another group but we need to wait longer

I'm... pretty sure they're not going to debut yunjin with a 24 year old, only because she has a chance to have a 10-12 year career (and it would be a bit optimistic to think that kaeun will still be doing this at 36).
Only just now taking an in depth look at this kid, but the only negatives i can find are:
She could have better balance. (see her toes come up sometimes, also rolls from one side of the foot to the other a bit, in this video, kaeun basically doesn't do that at all) She's also 17 years old and 170cm, If she didn't have any balance issues that would be very strange. Not at all worrying.
She could be a bit more precise, vocally... I guess. She has it coming from both angles in this situation, first of all, again, she's 17. Vocalists rarely develop elite accuracy until about 21-22, it just takes time to learn your own voice (although there are some exceptions, more on that in a moment). She's also, essentially, a creative power voice (think twice jihyo), and this vocal style makes accuracy more difficult. Considering both of these things, i'm honestly surprised this issue isn't more serious. Furthermore, pledis labelmate and fellow korean-american Bae Sungyeon is one of the exceptions, mentioned above, and despite being 19 she DOES have elite precision. If these two start to hang out, expect this issue to evaporate quickly.
Still looking into her, but so far, she looks really, really good.

Years after debuting with their perspective group, usually members of gg/bg will have their own solo career, and kaeun/Yunjin probably will do that
