My father beat my mom. When he started to turn his anger towards me, my mom, who I defended and took ass whooping from my dad to protect her, told me I brought it upon myself. I left at 17 and never looked back.

honestly this video changed my life twice the first time i seen it was only the first half and id listen to it everyday waiting for the day i was finally big enough to fight my dad now i am and watching this whole video saved me from making that same mistake my only goal from 13 to 18 was to hurt him for all the things he did to my mom younger brother and me my brother is 13 now and he came to me the other day and asked me to teach him how to fight so he could fight our dad and it completely broke me
bc he punched him about 2 weeks ago and i dont want him following the same path i did i took a terrible path and hurt a lot of people and now it kills me knowing how many ive physically and mentally hurt and now my brain is conflicted all i wanted was revenge my whole life but now another side of me doesn't want it and its breaking me like i was that same terrible cold hearted person just like my dad when i swore id never be like him and my emotions are just being chipped away again im scared to be that cold hearted person again

The difference between Terry Crews and you is that he has his own place now, so he can distance himself from his father whenever he wants. I guess that you and your brother still live with your father. The best thing would be to get help from Child service or that your mother would grow the strength to take you and your brother and get the hell away from your father.
I am pretty sure that your father hates himself and hate is like cancer it is growing inside and someday it spreads.
I wish I could help you but I only have the advice for you that fighting back should be the last option but defending yourself is something you can focus on like pulling up your arms so he can not hit you.

Same thing. My father was bipolar and mother is a narc. I restrained my father some time back few times and maybe hit him when he abused mother. However, I now am extreme guilt that I could have just hugged him and taken him out for a walk to calm him! So sad, he is no more. However I took much care of him and loved him much but Don’t ever hit your father!

My dad told me how my grandfather beat my grandmother when he was little. Once he turned 18 he beat his dad’s ass and threw him out of the house.
