It still floors me that 3 people with this much talent were at the same high school. The odds of that.
And they all met and befriended each other, and now have an amazing life-long bond.
Zachary Goddard Millions with the potential maybe. A cappella is a hard thing to master, and the blend of these voices is phenomenal. The odds they came from the same place makes it rare.
I would say amazing that three people with the capacity to push to fulfill their dreams and the work it required all in the same place is far more amazing. They definately are talented people, but they have come a ways since they started. All the vocalists have cleaned up pitch and the live performances keep getting better.
Last count it was five people that made this dream come true. It started with Scott and then he called in his two friends and then they called in Avi and then Kevin. Without the five I don't know that we would be getting to listen to this great music today.

I love how everyone else is peacefully singing this beautiful song with a calm and soft voice and then there is Kevin slapping the shit out of himself and kicking the ground.

When Avi sang his solo part, Scott didn't sub in for him. It was a pre-recorded bass part by Avi. If you will listen closely, Scott was still singing relatively high notes at the very same moment.
Hey friend, it's true they do layer multiple vocals in their recordings but have you ever seen them live? Scott DOES take over the bass parts when Avi sings. Scott's range really is that great. Avi's too for that matter. Cheers.
I'm sorry but you're wrong, Scott always subs in the bass when Avi has solos. They've said it themselves, and Scott has a huge range and can sing bass too he's just more comfortable in the mid and high range.
Of course I heard them live. What I'm referring to is this particular song. In the The First Noel cover, Scott really took over the bass line when Avi was soloing. Maybe you just misconstrued me but that's fine. Cheers, fellow Pentaholic! :)

Lots of comments about how these people look, and how they sound perfect. Auto tuned or not, processed a lot or a little, their sound seems sterile and robotic to me. I get why they appeal to many, but I'll take an imperfect human voice, that can convey emotion, any day. Artistry is not in mimicking digital perfection in my opinion.

I just got home from the PTX concert in Dallas. To all the know it alls who say Scott can't sing this bass line, and that it is overproduced and autotuned, you are wrong. The live version sounded EXACTLY like this. Scott does sing the bass while Avi sings his solo. Not as loud or as strong as Avi, but pretty damn close. Their performance was amazing. I was sitting near Scott's and Mitch's parents, btw. They looked as star struck as the rest of us, lol.

The only downside about this video going viral is that it also attracts the attention of people who just can't appreciate how brilliant this group is and we have to suffer some pretty stupid remarks in the comment section (whereas usually the PTX comment section is like a warm bath you just sink further and further into).

Cyan Dragon As a music major, I can tell you that if you read music, the didn't chance much of anything other the adding more percussion. It's a nice cover.
So today it rained hard at a camp I go to, and one of the camper played this song on the piano during lunch and everyone in the mess hall began to sing along. A few seconds later, it stops raining and its sunny all of a sudden.
