    The main component they use for their projects ar made of a waterproofing system designed for use below grade and is a dual-layer waterproofing consisting of HDPE, sodium bentonite, and a protective layer consisting of a non-woven polypropylene. The HDPE provides the first layer of waterproofing while the bentonite’s self-sealing capabilities ensure positive puncture protection under hydrostatic conditions.

    some concerns with this approach: first, they are not deep enough, so the radiation will penetrate them and the occupants will bake inside as a result; second, you find the vent system if you are trying to get inside and the occupants are done; third, good luck getting to it in time considering how you could be at work or about the city when everything goes wrong. the best approach in case of such an event occurring is to stay put in a building until the cloud clears, and then start to move and move and move carefully as far away as possible from the affected area.

Also, if you spend most of your time nearby, to be able to get to it if you need it. Make sure the doors and vents are well hidden. All you need is for the vents to be blocked and there is no air to breathe. I was thinking that an escape hatch might be a good idea too. Is there an underground garage for your vehicle to hide in?

However, if there was a nuclear war or big mistake, of course I’d run for the bunker as it’s human nature to seek safety and life. Nukes today are hydrogen bombs so much bigger explosion with the same amount of radiation so basically back in the day ppl figured dozens of nukes would target a single city where a hydrogen bomb could just be 1 so essentially way less radiation in modern nuclear war as the GIANT fireball is way more of worry n two the vast majority of attacks would be an airburst which is even less radiation. There's a reason Hiroshima n Nagasaki barely had any fallout. Fallout shelters or nuclear bunkers unless their military grade are pretty much pointless.

    People talk about nuclear war being an ELE, but survival is possible. Recent research has turned the previous assumptions in their heads.
    The fact is though, there are a miriad of threats. Having somewhere that you can store food that can last thirty years or more, books, weapons, seeds tools and more, all in an underground dry and relatively secret subterranean building is a enormous advantage. It is also besides a bomb shelter, a giant safe to store valuables.
    And if the SHTF never happens it can be the mother of all man caves.

    • @peoplez129
      @peoplez129 6 일 전

      This isn't designed to last 30 years, it's designed to last around 30 days. The problem is largely in the water storage and energy generation, and unless you used most of the available space, you definitely wouldn't have room for 30 years of food storage. But the water tank simply isn't big enough. You could stretch it if you stopped taking showers, but cleanliness is actually important. And even the showers you get to take will have to be very quick. The tank definitely isn't big enough for a normal shower every day for 30 days, so you'd still be roughing it. Personally I think it needs 2 tanks....one for drinking water, to ensure a full 30 day supply, and one for everything else, so that if you run out of that, you'll at least have not accidentally used up all your drinking water.
