Certainly one of the most under rated groups in Kpop - such a shame because they are so talented
They're not underrated they're just rookies
they are not underrated.
They are gaining popularity slowly. I think they are much more better and developed than most rookie groups to be honest. CIX are the least popular of most of the newer groups but to be honest they have the better discography, vocals, and overall as a group they are the most solid. So yes, they should be considered underrated WHEN you compare them to other new groups, that includes groups who debuted last year as well.

Music video explained:
The MV describes their journey through hell. There are a lot of references to Dante’s Inferno (it’s a poem about the hell with all the punishments)
Dante explains Hell as nine concentric circles placed in the center of earth. You’ll land in the ninths circle if you deny all warmth from god it’s also where Satan rests. It’s also showed in the MV 1:32, 3:56. Normally you would think hell is on Fire and burning but the center is frozen because there is no love and warmth.
There are so many references but for example at 2:03 you can see the gate to hell wich is in a jungle in mexico.
Or another one at 2:06 you can see „Phlegethon“ it’s a river made out of boiling blood. Where the sinners are suffering inside and when somebody reaches to far out of the river they will be shot by arrows.
It’s very complicated to understand but you can read the whole poem on Wikipedia
Doesnt cix have the same producers like exo? If so, i can really hear the similarities in sound and style. I really like exo and i really am interested in cix since i heard this for the first time

I’m so glad you guys are reacting to them. They are one of the best groups in the industry and unfortunately a lot of new Kpop fans don’t pay attention. (I’m a veteran Kpop fan of 20+ Years)

Cix's entire concept is based on Dante's Divine Comedy, a narrative poem about Dante's journey through hell. hell is divided into nine circles, each one having differing punishments for sinners

you can see how Jinyoung ( blue hair guy) is running through a wood, apparantly trying to escape something. this wood is a reference to the first sentence in dante's inferno: "At the midpoint of the journey of life, I found myself in a dark forest for the clear path was lost."
He then arrives at the gate to hell, which bears the phrase: “lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate” this phrase can be found in dante's inferno and means "abandon all hope, you who enter here"
through some cix music videos like “movie star” you can see a lot of the divine comedy’s references and quotes
For understand the concept better you need to watch the story films for the first comeback.
For example :
In the story films yonghee attempted to commit su*cide by jumping off his school's roof in the story films.
the second ring of the seventh circle is for violence against yourself. the souls here are transformed into trees, which are then tormented by harpies, creatures that have the body of a bird and the face of a woman. this is where yonghee is.

Cix had a comeback last week ( jungle) and people who saw and even don't stan the group, liked the mv, but sadly they don't understand or they don't know about the backgroud of the mv
it is not only a cool video ...this video have a concept behind it.
They were building a story since their debut and their first comeback with their 10 story films.
Thank you so much! This is an amazing song and mv. All of their mv specially this one are based on Dante's Divine Comedy and this one is divided in 3 parts: The Inferno (hell), Purgatorio (purgatory) and Paradiso (heaven) to make their way back to God. Jungle is CIX's journey through the afterlife and it starts in hell.
Btw when the mv starts it appears written the first verse of Dante’s divine comedy “nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita mi ritrovai per una selva oscura, ché la diritta via era smarrita” which means “In the middle of the road of our life I found myself in a dark forest, because I'd lost the straight path”.

Compared to other newer groups CIX is really underrated, even though they have Jinyoung who was in Wanna One, but the other members need to be more popular either to get the full group more popular. It's such a shame, cause all 5 members are really amazing and talented and love their personalities. But still u can see C9 Entertainment is trying their best to promote them and spends lots of money.
