There's no depth to the skin color tho. Black people don't have white skin with a grey shadow tint to it. You can tell the difference between a filter on a photo and actually just being brown..

And for black female characters the makeup rarely looks good. All the shades are catered to white skin. Even the hair colors are catered to white skin. The black hair and eyebrows usually looks grey on dark skinned characters. My biggest pet peeve with Cyberpunk 2077 is the white girl voice for my character who looks like Lauryn Hill mixed with Foxy Brown but has to talk like a white teenager that smokes cigarettes.

I actually canโt think of a game that restricts hairstyle to skin tone. Everyone that comes to mind allows you to use any hairstyle independently from skin customization.

I like how they basically nailed it instantly by having the only two Skin Color options be "White" and "Other" but they spent an additional 2 minutes to really drive the point home.
I've literally never seen any game that's like this with an in depth character creation. Any skin color shared all of the hair types.
I guess it was a convenient way to show the difference in the options of hairstyles.
Some games only have 'white' hairstyles, or only 1 or 2 'black' hairstyles (afro or dreads). I tried to make a black character the other day and all the hair options were SO STRAIGHT my man ended up looking like Thulsa Doom.

Every game with a character creator needs two sliders for skin tone. Hue from red to yellow and tint from light to dark. That literally cover all skin types.
