Yes, on GOD. when I watch the 1999 series and read the manga I was hurt and annoyed. Gon forgetting the man that gave him his reason for living, his very drive in life and the reason he is where he is is absurd. It takes away from the emotion that he has towards kite when he dies. the 2011 make it seam forced when watching it I was thinking "like why are you so serious you just remembered kite like last week" and now your risking your life and future for him it made no sense when you thought about it.

Ed can control the environment Levi needs to use his gear

Ed's control is specific, he's not transmuting the whole world. Ed can't predict Levi's movements, he's a trained elite soldier and an Ackerman warrior. A well placed thunder spear would probably end Ed. Ed's reaction speed and combat skill is not on Levi's level. He's not catching Levi unless they're on a flat terrain.

Then after Goku and Frieza's already epic fight, and after a Kaio Ken x 20 didn't work, and a Spirit Bomb failed, to see Goku reach a level where I felt confident he was really about to beat the dude NO ONE else stood a chance against, was wild. With Cell at that point I felt like the Z fighters would figure something out. With Frieza it felt damn near hopeless

That is the biggest difference between the anime and the manga. Kite was introduced in the manga in the very first chapter and was more attached to Gon and the story as a whole.

Levi is not normal though, he's an Ackerman warrior meaning they're especially tuned to battle. With the gear and the thunder spear, Levi's maneuverability and unpredictability become a big problem for Ed. Just because Ed can throw some stone fists doesn't mean he'd actually land any shots on Levi. And Ed would need to touch Levi's blade to transmute it, and if by chance he does touch Levi's blades, Ed's probably loosing another part of his body. But then again Ed has a metal arm and leg which makes it a even bigger toss-up. Would be a dope fight if animated properly though.

@@kaydee1485 ed got a metal arm, ed is faaaaaaar smarter than levi its not even close. levi relyin on his gear is risky bc ed can change up the environment to suit him. ed has engaged multiple people with more combat experience than him but it didnt matter cuz hes just that smart and tactical. levi is nowhere near as intelligent as ed. nowhere near as resourceful. abilities, ed. also the blades be getting dull. i can see ed creating walls from the ground that shatter levi’s blades. only way levi wins is with a sneak attack

I can kind of see where you're coming from but that hand to hand point doesn't really mean nothing. Even with a Shinobi background that doesn't mean much when you're going up against the incarnate of 200 years of martial arts. And if we're really going off of that, Rengoku is also a skilled barehanded martial artist because his first time meeting Sanemi as a Kinoe, Rengoku perfectly defended his attacks (he didn't counter because he didn't want to hurt him, even patting him on the shoulder after saying he didn't want to hit him back.)
Spoilers ahead:
I wouldn't say Tengen is a better match up for Akaza, but Rengoku was definitely a bad one. People seem to forget Akaza's compass needle detects a stronger battle spirit and adjusts accordingly. Rengoku had a rudimentary version of the see through world, and would have definitely become marked had he survived that night. (The mark wouldn't spread until after the Sword Village arc, because Tanjiro was only strong enough to manifest it during the Red Light District.)

@@umtrain1730 I don't think strength or skill is an indicator of bringing the mark. If that had been the case, then hashiras would have had marks before Tanjiro himself. I think it's near to death condition where a body temperature of 102.2° Fahrenheit and a heart rate of above 200 BPM was essential to summon and Trade your life with the mark.

I feel like a situation of higher highs and lower lows with shooters. Some of the absolute best memories I have are with my friends on shooters. In comparison to where rpg games usually stand the test of time and can be fun longterm. I however would still take the shooters though because I have had times growing up where I was ready to get on the game every day every hour to play shooters with my friends. Where I never really achieved that with rpgs for me personally.
