Honestly, this solo is (for me) equivalent to Taemin's Danger. I just love everything about it, and is so iconic. Hoshi is a great dancer and performer. And I also think this is the best song Woozi ever did.

And this right here is why Hoshi kept thanking and shouting out Woozi for composing Spider (with Park Kitae) in every freaking interview. It’s genius composition, add Hoshi’s vocals/performance and you end up with this brilliant song. Okay the fact that I have been listening to this on repeat ever since it came out, BUT I'm not musically inclined at all so to hear everyone talk about WHY it's so good is so OOMFCHEFSKISS. So much skill in the composition and lyrics and then the performance aspect of it it too. GAH I am smiling so hard watching this lmao, thank you ReacttotheK!!!!

In 14:37 when Ju Young said it kinda reminded her of the word "ambidextrous", I felt like she nailed it to the core. For Spider, Hoshi made sure to have both male and female dancers and have intimate choreographed interactions with both because he feels like it should be fluid and not gender-bound. So when she said that, I felt so proud that fhe message came across so well.

This song just shows how much Woozi knows Hoshi because he creates a song that fits Hoshi's voice so well

Also fun fact: Hoshi was voted as the 2nd best dancer in kpop industry by junior idols. He is admired by many.

edited to add: after watching the whole reaction i wanted to say that having watched this channel from the very beginning stephanie and leon are some of my favorite reactors of all time. the whole crew are fantastic - especially the current team - but while everybody obviously knows a lot about music and does a great job of communicating that wealth of knowledge in a really legible way, stephanie's perspective is always one i don't often see doubled up by anyone's else's review and i love how leon listens so attentively to what she says and then shares his thoughts from what often seem like a completely different but equally valid / relevant perspective. some reactors have certain things they seem to look for in everything and that's really interesting and educational in its own right, but stephanie and leon always bring a pov that's completely different and i learn a lot from them. i really appreciate all the perspectives and all the knowledge you guys share, thanks so much for all your hard work on this channel

Umu, have you ever considered doing more regular sponsored content? As a patron and someone who loves your channel, I think you deserve to get paid more for what you do and all the hard work you put into this channel. You could also pay more editors to reduce your workload and stress. I know you’ve done a few sponsored videos, but as a fan I wouldn’t mind seeing more especially because it means you are getting paid what you deserve! I’m so happy that you guys reacted to Hoshi’s spider since it was released 3 months ago but I guess good music never gets to late to be checked out :)) I feel the public in general still not knowing much about this song becuz of the lack of promotions. The entire production and performance is so intricately created and organized. It’s so unique that no other artists have done in a similar way by using props to set up the web imagery to fit into the spider concept. Hoshi, the king of performance for our fans.

really love how it all came together like it may sound simple to some but the instrumentals were really fiiire PLUS hoshi's unique voice complimented really well with the song. this song was made FOR him

the way I RAN to youtube to watch this. I always thought this song has a really delicate feel to it, but at the same time, it really entangles you in its vibe and melody. Hoshi did a really good job at connecting his images, lyrics, and music into this wonderful song. AAaaaahhhh! I'm glad I came back to this channel after not watching for a few months.
This is one of my favorite kpop songs and Hoshi became my ult after I saw Spider.
This song is so amazingly produced but it's so wonderful to hear why and all the details that I couldn't put into words.

Also, if any of the reactors are interested, there's a behind the scenes and Hoshi actually recorded his vocals while watching the choreography to make sure they went together and had the feel he wanted. He is truly an all round artist, on top being an amazing dancer, choreographer, and singer. And now he's learning music production from Woozi too. Oof, what can't he do.

If we talk in aspect of just music, this is hot like Taemin's Move ... like really hot and powerful. Tbh when i experienced this comeback i thought he touched my soul 🤣 a weak point.

Hoshi is a member of the South Korean group Seventeen (composed of 13 members)
He is the leader of the performance unit, as well as a vocalist and rapper.
He participated in the lyrics for Spider alongside Woozi and also in the choreography.
As CARAT, I hope you will show a lot of interest in Hoshi and Seventeen, they are all very talented.
They recently released their album Your Choice, come check it out, you won't regret it! ^^

Something that always makes me giggle is that Hoshi has said that he doesn't understand music terms (like timing or what instrument makes what sounds) but he and Woozi make it work. How? Because Woozi understands him so well Hoshi can describe what he is thinking of in dance terms & Woozi can translate that into song.
My giggle come from imagining Woozi playing a track for Hoshi & Hoshi saying something like 'I like it but I think the chorus would sound better with less hip thrusts and more body roll." 😄😄
