@RaggedsEdge yeah like their descent into water. Not sure what rules are but they looked like they did what they could on the level of the platform. So cool how they transferred the slower heavy cradle and leveraged that into higher velocity sling of the aircraft. I was so impressed

Slingshot Flugtag. Elegant simplicity. And that wing. Wow! Amazing build! Was this entry a private team of amateurs or a group assembled from an engineering school/firm?
next time dive the get more speed, the pull up just enough to level out and be very close to the water to use "ground effect"... could have gone another 100 feet. Still it flew, really flew and that is a HUGE accomplishment. tow it behind a boat an let it gain speed and altitude and see how well it sails.. Blessings to all whi do.
What are the launch rules? Only a 4 man team can push? Could weighted bags be dropped over the edge of the platform to help pull the aircraft off the deck?
If they would have only tilted the wings slightly, and and inverted v's towards the wing tips, this thing would have gotten so much further than the record hold, never seen such a smooth take off like that.
I need to watch more of these flights because i can tell by the comments that this is an impressive flight, but to me it seemed like a fail, i thought it was gonna glide longer. Just seems like a ton of effort for such a short flight.
What they really needed to do is dive the plane near the ground and the ground effect would have caused it to float more instead of trying to keep the plane in the sky.
Damn the launcher gave that thing a boost
that's what Santos Dumont said for brothers
How does the launcher mechanism work?

One out of hundreds that actually flew. Good engineering.
The main point is the presentation and looks tho

The momentum transfer from the rig and runners was fantastic
I was just thinking if they could somehow impart the energy of the jumpers to the aircraft with some rope and pulleys, that would be cool.
