She could've been given a place in Hannam the Hill building where celebs like bts and bigbang live. Plus EXO also has been given a dorm then why not Red Velvet. Yes Seulgi offered herself to take the smallest room, she has the hallway outside this room for her closet tho which you can see at the beginning of Joy’s vlog.
If you watch Joy’s Happy Together episode, you will know that all 5 RV members asked for two separate dorms so they could all have nicer and evenly spaced rooms, but SM refused.
