When I was a kid, several of the monsters were pretty legit scary to me. The hellhounds from the first movie and the train scene from the second really stand out in my memory. I think part of what makes Ghostbusters click is that most of the jokes happen when monsters aren't around, but the villains are very intimidating when they're on screen.
The library ghost and the taxi driver wraith did my head in as a 10 year old. Though... I was genuinely terrified when Tully (Moranis) slides down the restaurant window after searching his pockets for a milk ball. Lol!

@@spudmckenzie5649 He decided that he hates portraying something that somebody else wrote. He only likes doing it if he has control over the characters like he did in the 80s. When they brought him on to do Ghostbusters they had him re-write his character and improvise. -- So, he retired from acting because he wasn't being allowed to do that anymore.
