I was rather disappointed to hear that they will be still sticking to the stubborn transverse layout regardless of the all new powertrain and platform. I was really hoping to see a proper rwd based SHAWD system. Now I am well aware that current layout and SHAWD does perform much better than expected but I think this was still a missed opportunity to go after proper M and AMG cars or even M sports line, lower AMG line and even the Korean sports sedan duo

If the 2.0T comes with 270hp and the 3.0t is over 400hp then great! They should have a mid level trim with a v6 with around 310hp imho.

The interior isn't TERRIBLE - just not very interesting or Sporty. At least it's not a big, ridiculous mess like the Infinity Q Series with their dual screens with different fonts & color schemes !!

I've been a dedicated Acura owner/driver since 1993 with my all new 1994 Integra GS-R. Moved to a 2002 RSX Type-S, then a 2003 CL Type-S, then a 2008 RDX, and now a 2016 RDX Advance. Love Acuras!! 👍😀

The V6 has always sounded good, and it's just fine but the 2021 with the 2.0T SH-AWD and 10 speed should be WAyyy better. I test drove the Accord with the engine and it's fantastic!

Give it brembos, a flat bottom steering wheel, digital cluster, manual/dct options on the bigger engine, single screen infotainment, and a turbo. Hopefully in 2021 they do some of this. Exterior wise I think it looks amazing.

Acura is just a brand in the US, worldwide it’s still a Honda. Honda should make it more exclusive and have a longitudinal engine with RWD platform to all its models. The Genesis Motors of Hyundai outclassed them and Infiniti (luxury brand of Nissan) within just several years, they learned from Lexus (Toyota). Change should be done for both Acura and Infiniti.

I will love for you to do a segment about how the luxury brand of these car segments are doing like ex: Toyota and Lexus how they are still selling and staying up to par with sales, unlike Acura and Honda, or infinity and Nissan.
Good-looking Acura! But the infotainment system looks terrible. How do you control that far screen? Is there a dial or track pad or something? Also would love to know more about the engine start/stop system. Does it function smoothly compared to other makes and is it easy to disable?
People hate on the dual screen setup too much. I just think Acura could do a better job with the display quality, functionality and more customizable options like being able to switch screens so Carplay can use touch or having Google Maps on one screen and Music app on the other.

If theres a PMC MDX, I think I saw it on the road one time. I saw the PMC NSX at the DC Auto Show 2019 and it was crazy and beautiful to look at under a lot of LED lights

If they had updated the infotainment a few years ago and threw in the 10 speed I think it'd be a great car. Still, it's very nice, fun to drive, and one of the few sporty sedans with a N/A V6.

Modernize the interior. The plastic cubby hole for the screen looked dated on arrival. When you put a screen housing like that, everything below it looks awful too.

The TLX will be getting the RDX interior in just a couple of months. Exterior should be taking some cues from the ILX as well.

Credit the 97-01 Honda Prelude Type SH for providing the TLX and other Acuras the torque-vectoring technology in the SH-AWD. The Prelude had the ATTS (Active Torque Transfer System), which provided torque-vectoring to the front two wheels.
Watching this review really makes me appreciate everything that Genesis has done and offers. Basically everything you'd want from Acura(or even Infiniti) is what Genesis has. Even though these brands have existed longer, they are basically not much different than your consumer friendly sedan lineups with top trim levels.

Although everybody hates the current graphics on the Infiniti infotainment system, I still feel like I’m driving a “Luxury brand car” when I step in an Infiniti Q50,Q60 and QX50. With Acura, you really don’t get that vs. a Genesis product. Acura doesn’t really know how to position their brand. They look really nice though

You should review the front wheel drive version. It weighs less and the rear wheels turn slightly for better maneuverability.
Honda/Acura has some of the best manual gearboxes, so it’s a shame that Acura no longer sells them. I’d gladly trade in my WRX for the Type S, presuming the Type-S had a manual.
These cars seem to depreciate like crazy compared to previous generations. They need to get back part of their soul and offer a sporty manual in a Type S configuration.

I'm wondering if I could get some feedback from owners of the 2020 and 2019 model year. I am considering this acura but am concerned about long term reliability. When I purchase a car I expect to get at least 10 years of minimal trouble free use, but I keep hearing mixed reviews about this car from high praise to downright money pit horror stories.
If you wreck one of these PMC TLXs, could you take it back to PMC to get fix like NSXs...?

I like the 2020 Acura TLX PMC A-Spec AWD but I would like the 2020 Toyota Camry XSE V6.
Which the 2020 Toyota Camry XSE V6 is way more better then the 2020 Acura TLX PMC A-Spec AWD because it has a panoramic sunroof and the Camry XSE V6 has a very nice red interior which I don’t think you can find a red interior on the Acura TLX PMC but 2 things that are alike to the 2020 Toyota Camry XSE V6 and the 2020 Acura TLX PMC AWD is that both of them have a black painted roof and the rims on both of them are kind a like but good review.

I heavily considered the TLX A-Spec this year, this car would have been my dream to be honest, but that interior is straight out of 2010... I test drove and just couldnt fall in love with the interior. I went with the Accord 2.0 Touring instead. Maybe in 2021 I can snag up my TLX...
In fact my 2010 TL looks much more appealing and luxurious than this one.

And yes, every car over $40k should have full led lights in front and rear! No incandescent signals and reverse lights, ever. It looks horribly cheap having both.
Plus, I'm not a huge fan of the yellow drl lights. They need to be white with yellow designated for turn signals.

May not look appealing but will last longer than than bmw and mb interior. Bmw n mb interior are cheap plastic shits. Will break and deteriorate after 8 years. My 2007 tsx with 250k miles interior still looks brand new. No cracks or peels. Yah.

I have an 06 TL and people complained about having to switch screens from stereo to navigation. Personally love single screen.
Just bought the PMC for the V6, wanted a 2021TLX S but could not justify price.

Acura must realize their TSX would sell if they gave us a 350+ hp version. I loved my 06 and 2010 TL. 2010 was 305 hp. They need to keep up to Genesis, Audi, BMW or will do what Ford did and start dropping their sedans.
They released that already with the Civic type R. The acura TLX is also the reason we wont see an Accord Type R because the brand would cannibalize itself lol
Maybe you don't understand the culture of owning an Acura or Honda. There are MANY companies that make performance parts for them. Intake, e.c.m. tuning..., headers, exhaust systems, suspension upgrades to suit an owner's taste. 350 horsepower is not hard to achieve on any J35 or J37 engine from 2007+ And they are VERY HARD to break. You have to run it without oil or coolant to blow a cylinder head gasket. Which is unheard of. And transmissions RARELY have issues as of model year 2007 or newer. They just don't break. Hyundai/Kia/Genesis should be fine as long as you're in warranty. Acura/Honda owners tend to FALL IN LOVE with their car and keep them for a long time OUTSIDE of the warranty. A long time. Because they have complete confidence in their vehicle. Yes the navigation system is dated. We know this. Best Buy can remedy that easily with "free" installation...
When Acura first came onto the scene they had such great names: Legend, Vigor, Integra...Now it makes no sense. Hopefully they get their naming together like Lincoln finally did.
I would like to finally see some decent pony's put under the hood & a nice sport tuned exhaust. Please Acura don't disappoint us like you did with this TLX and please keep SH-AWD & discontinue giving us PAWS.

Alex (Alex on Autos) has a video explaining the design of the ZF 9 speed Automatic and why it behaves the way it does. He did say it has a very short first gear so it should step out quickly.

I am confused, can you get the PMC edition with the 4 cylinder? In my opinion this is a better option then the heavy V6 which negatively effects handling and the 9 speed automatic which negatively affects performance. Yes, the SH-AWD most likely cancels out the weight penalty of the V6 but at a significantly higher cost then the better suited 4 cylinder and superior 8 speed dual clutch transmission. Lastly, did he say the exhaust outlets are fake? WTF Acura..... that’s not precision performance! 😡
I like my 2017 accord v6 front wheel drive good mpg and plenty of power... and sounds great with k&n air filter
That 9 speed trans is the biggest reason I'll trade my 2018. It shifts hard when driving normal and doesn't perform well when I ask it to. I wish I was a fly on the wall when Acura was talking about needing to use that trans. They must have gotten some crazy deal on it or something. You'd think Honda/Acrua would be smarter about that. That J35 tho, is still a favorite of mine. Great V6 engine.

Austin Butler Yeah, I was looking at the TLX V6 but apparently, those 9 speeds aren’t too good. From my understanding, the 9-speed is developed from some outside company, which means that it’s not Honda quality. Honda should put their own 10 speed into the TLX.
I really don't get it. With that completely awful interior Acura is just begging others like the Kia/Hyundai group to steal their business. How on Earth can they still justify that infotainment?

smile cute yeah but Infiniti’s dual screen looks better than this. With Infiniti, the only issue is the graphics, but those double screens they say aren’t going anywhere. We’re stuck with 2 screen with Infiniti Land Rover and audi. Personally I think there’s too many buttons with infiniti

I have a TLX SHAWD and an Infiniti G37x. The G37 is 7 years older and shifts so much crisper and responds to the paddles so much better. When you downshift on the TLX, it literally slurs up to the rev, like someone who just learned how to drive stick or something it's horrible. But, besides that, the car is pretty quick for what it is, and the SHAWD is no joke, way better than the system on my G37
Oh, and also I agree with you on the screens, they're not amazing, and the seats are kind of flat, versus the sport seats in my G that hold me in pretty well. However, if I go on a road trip or anything out of town I take the Acura. If you're interested in the Acura I recommend taking a look at the q50, it's honestly a better car in my opinion, if you can get over the steering.
I'm getting rid of both cars soon and getting an Audi RS3, it's like a combination of both but 10x better lol.
