In this video, I'll restore the Apple Keyboard A1048 for Mac Pro 2.
The plastic is yellowed and dirty. I show you how I restored this Yellowed I will retrobright the plastic. I was happy to give it a second life and restore it.
Apple Keyboard A1048 is one of the most iconic keyboards from Apple and the Most Nostalgic Keyboard. This restoration took me one week. I hope You like my Restoration Videos!

Repair & restoration of a scratched Apple keyboard - How to resurface Plastic
This video will show you how to make your yellowed keyboard look almost new again.
Coat the plastic in hydrogen peroxide to fix discoloration. Hydrogen peroxide works well on plastics that have turned entirely yellow instead of in just one spot. Fill a plastic bag with enough hydrogen peroxide to cover the plastic. Stick the plastic in the bag of hydrogen peroxide and lay it out in direct sunlight. Wait 3-4 hours before rinsing it off with clean water.
You can purchase hydrogen peroxide at a drugstore or big box store.
If you’re treating some sort of plastic mechanism, make sure you remove all the parts that aren’t plastic before putting them into the hydrogen peroxide.
You can also use an old toothbrush to scrub the hydrogen peroxide onto the plastic if desired
Retrobright is a hydrogen peroxide-based process for removing yellowing from ABS plastics

I have this keyboard and one day I spilled soda on it. I thought it’s already ruined anyways so why not try putting it in the dishwasher. I did and it cleaned it like new. I plugged it into the computer. It was dead. BUT after a few days I tried again and it worked. So after that any time it got dirty I’d do the same thing. Dishwasher. Keep it facing down over the sink for a day or two so the water will drain out and then plug it back in. It’s never failed. I’m typing this comment on it now. I’ve done this at least 50 times

Yeah no. Nobody listen to this. A keyboard is full of electronic components and you will permanently kill it. The water will fry it plus the amount of heat loosen all the glue on the chips. It will not work. This is almost microwaving your phone level bullshit.

Amazes me that this keyboard's only from 2003. It looks so much older at the start of the video, like something from the '80s. _Wow._
I've taken apart my old MacBook Pro (2008) to replace the keyboard and the trackpad (and to clean it out), but never to this extent. I'm amazed / impressed.

Who ever invented the placement of the keys on the keyboard is smart smart 😂, I took 3 years of typing classes and I can’t imagine Keys being anywhere else than where they are, I can type blindfolded and not stress out my fingers

in all seriousness, there's something about seeing the interior components of these electronics that knocks something inside my brain, like, the last person to see this was a worker in a Malaysian factory 20-odd years ago, i wonder what their life is like, if they're alive, if they're still working in assembly, do they have a family, a partner, a home? i hope they were able to scrape together a somewhat comfortable life.
