Hello Roaring Stone Korea subscribers, nice to meet you. I'm Feel Kim, a musician.
Q1. The most exciting moment recently
I recently did a KRplus live for the new song release, and I talked about it there too. While recording this song, there were some question marks that I had while making music. About the monitor environment, I thought a lot about why the difference between the monitors during recording and live and how to reduce this gap.
And in the case of this song, it's not acoustic music. It's not the type of music that I usually do. The sound was full, so it was a bit hard to monitor. So I thought about how it would be best to record in this environment. I phonographed it for 3 hours and did many various experiments over 2 or 3 days. And when it came time to make the record it was done exactly in 30 minutes. That's how the whole song was recorded, and I think I was a little excited at that time. On the other hand, I felt discouraged and I thought to myself "There are still many things I need to study." And I think I was excited because of things like 'Oh, I'll be able to record a bit more pleasantly and comfortably in the future'.
Q2. I'm curious about how people around you think about the new song.
First, as you said, a lot of people said it is new. But rather than think it's something new, I'm personally think that it is something I was able to do and I have seen a lot of opportunities. I thought I should do it at the right time.. It seems that now was the right time and, as you said, for many people this concept a bit new as well. Like I said before, many people think I'm a bit sentimental and sad, or since I mainly do music that has some answers, it gives the impression that I'm only good at it and that's the only thing that suits me. And now after releasing this song, I thought, "I know how to do this." Personally, I'm very satisfied.
Q3. Compared to your previous collaboration, how was your teamwork with Tablo this time?
Actually, mr. Tablo recorded and sent it right away, as soon as he finished his US tour schedule and rested for two days. So we couldn't meet and work together. And my mr. senior artist (Tablo) is so good at music, I think he knows a lot more than me so I just sent him the song and had been waiting. So while working on music, even without meeting each other, I was very happy to communicate with Tablo while he was participating in the feature song. I got a message from the States: 'When I get back, I'll spend two days with my family, and then I'll record it and send it the next day. Okay?' You so willingly consented to make a part for me, I will remember this for a very long time.
Q4. Other artists you want to collaborate with
I want to collaborate with foreign artists. My favorite artist these days is British singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone. And I really like Rachel Yamagata for a long time, so I want to collaborate with her too. I really want to try to work with foreign artists.
Q5. The driving force that give me strength
Well, I don't have a wide range of human relationships, but there are some music colleagues who are closest to me. I also have loving family and friends. Wouldn't it be? And we talked and shared our feelings together so I feel like I have something to protect. Also, in the future, I think there are things I need to protect and take care of beautifully. So I think I try to put a lot of power.
Q6. A song that gave me strength
I think the time when I was encouraged by listening to music was actually before my debut. After debuting rather than receiving energy from listening to music, now this is my job, so I have to become more careful. Have to be more attentive, there are more things to think about, and there are more things to anticipate and prepare for. So thinking of music as to get full of energy, I think it was before my debut. Before debuting, I really received a lot of strength from senior Kim Kwang-seok’s music and Lee Seung-yeol’s music and other various types of music. 'I can do music like this. I should do it like this.’ I think I thought a lot.
Q7. A word to yourself in future
I want to ask if you are still doing music. I want to ask if you are doing well. I want to tell you that I hope you're doing well in music.
