- Here comes part 3 of our 4-part wedding series! Now as you guys may know, I went shopping for my wedding dress a few moons ago - and we found a very wonderful white bat-sleeved dress. However, I've been teasing the idea here and there of doing a white swan/black swan moment and having a second black reception dress to change into for the party portion of the evening. So that is what we're going to be working on now!

I like that it’s 100% reasonable to say that you could wear it again at another occasion if you choose to do so. Personally the idea of spending a ton of money on a dress that you can only wear once stresses me out, but the black dress could totally be worn again.

I love how Safiya is so comfortable with her goofy and positive personality. You can see how quickly Stephanie starts to open up around her and the camera and kind of match her fun vibes. It's so sweet! Keep up the amazing job Safiya, and I know I'm late in saying this, but CONGRATULATIONS!! Tyler is a great guy.
To say, "they are: engaged, betrothed, affianced" makes perfect grammatical sense. To say, "they are married and/or wedded" again, makes perfect sense. "Matrimonied" on the other hand, standing on its own or in context - well, it's not hitting it out of ballpark, that's for sure. It's not making it past the mound ;) Now, "married, wedded, ESPOUSED" not only works, but it is the perfect counterpoint to "affianced".

That's right. I was married, widowed later, remarried later, and never was a traditional bride. At my first wedding, I was married in a lacey burgundy dress with a satin cummerbund and burgundy hat. For my second wedding, my dress was a custom lavender satin. It was a medieval style dress, with satin ribbon criss crossed down the bodice and white ribbon rosettes. The veil was a matching shade of lavender tulle, attached to a headband with flowers. Both of them were beautiful.

Coming back to rewatch vids while waiting for new ones has been fun tbh, really love Saf’s content.
This vid in particular really got me into sewing and customising my own clothing as a hobby during lockdown. The whole process of trial and error, fabrics, cut/style and final product is so rewarding!!! Also more excitement to wear them out and about 😁

rewatching the wedding series again and I feel like I always forget just how absolutely gorgeous both of safiya’s dresses end up being. Oh my gosh i normally don't like watching stuff about wedding dresses and all this but it just caught my eye for this video cause of both the black and white dress versions look, amazing and your style and choices are amazing! So close to things i would love to have for things on my own wedding if i ever het married so thankyou for some great ideas! I wore a black leather dress when I got married. My husband wore black leather too. That was in 1990. Still married. We didn’t see this as a “theme wedding” at all. We are just.... Those People. 😂

I got married twice to the same guy in the same year. We eloped to the courthouse. (thin wale white corduroy button front dress styled after the western theme that was popular in the late 80s) Then we got married n a tiny but adorable church on a Navy base that following December. (Full heavy silk satin, portrait neckline, fitted, princess seamed, full skirted ivory dress.)
Still married. (29 years married is nothing to sneeze at for either of us.)
