- So after trying out inexpensive clothing from Wish, you guys requested that I try out clothing from other questionable websites like Romwe! So I bought $5 clothing for a week and tried out multiple outfits over the course of seven days to see if anything from Romwe is actually worth it.

If the items are getting shipped from overseas, then they'll take about a month no matter what kind of shipping you get because they have to go through customs. So it's not fully the company's fault

Olivia Domek I will say you get what you pay for. I like most of the clothes I have gotten, but pay attention to reviews and the sizing chart is gospel. I gave a lot of their size 6 stuff to my 4’9 barely 100 pound roommate because I thought I could fit it and it was just slightly too small. I’m 5’6.5 and about 150 and I range around a medium for them, except for cord and denim skirts, which don’t have any give in the thighs where I carry my weight. Some of the skirts have weird material, like I have one or two which were a learning curve but they’re fine. Tights are a no go, I’m all torso and the legs are still too short. Shirts are almost always safe, so are hair accessories. Bras I’m 34DD and fit, but would stay away from if you are any larger in general boob size.

The prices are suspiciously low. But can we all agree about how better designed Romwe's website is? Like everything looks cohesive. All the images of the clothes look like they have the same sort of editing style and stuff. While Wish is just a bunch of random photo's of the product. (Wish also steals photo's from other places) The titles/names of the clothes also make sense, and you can read them and understand what it is.

Wish is just a chinese ebay. Every item you see on wish is from an individual seller and not from the actual company. Therefore, it's not Wish stealing pics, but the people who are posting on Wish. Just like on ebay, they aren't heavily regulated.

I'd love to see you do a haul from a popular company that ethically makes their clothing. You can even compare it to these cheap stores and discuss the pros and cons of buying fast fashion vs. ethically made fashion. You could also go into the history of how fast fashion came to be. I love it when you give us history lessons! If you ever get sick of KRplus, you would make an amazing teacher!
this!! ^^^ so many people on here are assuming the people talking about sweatshops and the environment in the comments shop at h&m or nike, but there are quite a few ethical clothing stores. a comparison on quality, environmental impact, and working conditions would be so cool! plus it's always great for companies trying to do good to get some extra business and love.

Something I really appreciate about these videos is that you review the clothes after wearing them out. A lot of reviewers just write reviews after they receive the clothes, which makes it hard to know how the clothes will act when you're actually wearing them / issues that might come up after a while. Thanks for the video Safiya :)
Honestly, if I were Saf, I’d be calling Romwe like. Bruh. I paid an EXTRA $14 for 3-5 day shipping and it took a month.
I agree. Especially considering these websites usually have no issue refunding you the whole thing. They'd rather have a 5 star review than having to deal with an unhappy client.

Oh they don’t care about a happy customer, I wish I could post pictures here of the conversations I had with the “customer service” after they sent me a whole wrong package, first they tried to deny that it was from them, and then I saw the invoice that was everything I ordered, but I got none of it, then they tried to make me pay for the shipping back on their mistake. I was so angry. Now who knows when my actual package will arrive, mind you it was $115 😭

Hey Saf, I've been shopping in Romwe for quite a while and you can get really good stuff you just need to learn some tricks, let me break it down for you:
1. Use the app instead of the website. In the app you can see the reviews also you can chat live with the technic support if you have a problem or doubt and they reply in seconds.
2. Tops and dresses are safe, skirts maybe, bottoms and specially jeans ARE NOT (I never had the shein problem and I was very pleased with every dress I ordered I would say dresses are very good quality).
3. Measure yourself and follow the size chart, check the reviews, and you'll almost always need one size up in tops and bottoms and your actual size in dresses and skirts.
4. Read the description of the product, it says if the fabric stretches or not, that's VERY important when choosing the right size.
5. Swimsuits and bikinis are only safe if you're a skinny to average girl WITH SMALL BOOBS, if you're chubby or have big boobs, forget it.
6. The stuff that is a little more expensive is actually worth it, like 10$ or so, it's good quality.
7. Never pay express shipping because it takes the same time for everyone.
When you learn how to use it it can be very fun and pleasant, there are really nice pieces of clothings for cheap, so I think that in general it's safe and the customer service is A+

Thanks for the advice however, the last time i checked Romwe, their clothing wasn't cheap. A pair of jeans would have costed me 40$ not including tax. So im a little confused with the pricing.

The things is, even though Romwe is cheap and their clothes are made in a sweatshop, places like Gucci and higher end brands are also using sweatshops. There are rarely any brands that don't want to cut corners and save money so they outsource their factory by going to places where labour is cheaper and the laws are more lax about working conditions. Forever 21 was busted for even having "sweatshop like conditions" in the US. So even though I agree that Romwe and Wish and similar brands like that are using sweatshops, don't overlook the brands we use in our everyday lives that are doing the exact same thing.

Indeed! But safiya is extremely well off in the money department. It is true that in this day and age, most clothing shops use sweatshops. Despite this, we know safiya can afford to find and buy from places that pay their workers and suppliers a living wage.
Also, literally endorsing and promoting these items online, in a video (you know, free advertising) is extremely harmful. She's welcoming her viewers to buy from these online shops. One person buying from these types of stores won't do much harm, but this girl has hundreds, thousands, maybe even more people who will buy from romwe BECAUSE of this video.

Romwe has workers in Thailand and Malaysia (places like those) and relates with Shein and Zaful, so they all have the shit quality. The workers at all of those companies are paid a few cents a week for so many hours of work. There was a picture of a tag on a piece of clothing from one of those companies saying “HELP ME.” Scary. Not to mention the months of shipping. If you’re reading this, don’t support those companies.

Can you do a "I Dressed As a Sim" for a day or a week whatever is more convenient. The gist of it is to randomize clothing of the sim either with CC or normal Sims clothing.

I always end up asking the same questions. What do you do with all the extra- clothing you get during those hauls videos ? Recently you bought a lot from fast-fashion brands and up to 80% of the clothing is not something you're planning to keep and/or wear again. I love your videos but seeing you buying those suspiciously cheap items bothers me because we know they're not good products, that they are produce in really bad conditions and that after one washing cycle they're not wearable anymore and turn into trash
Maybe you could do a haul videos about sustainable fashion brands to compare the products to the ones from wish/romwe. Or even a "I dressed with second hand clothing for a week" !

Gaspard Viril I agree with you! I love these videos but not a fan of fast fashion. Would like to see more sustainable en durable fashion or if that's not an option vintage clothing. Maybe a video where you can only wear borrowed clothes for a week?
I totally agree! I’d love to see Safiya do a video in which she addresses the problems that stem from these fast-fashion brands, shows how she recycles/sells the clothes she doesn’t want and promotes some sustainable brands 😊
