plastic clothes are popular in raves, not really like the thin clear stuff but it works really well since they happen in the dark with neon lights everywhere
it creates a really cool effect, especially paired with glow in the dark or neon clothing (which are also rave clothing items)

With clear plastic if it goes white or yellow it's usually because the oils have gone out if it. If you soak it in Pledge furniture polish and let it sit for 20 minutes and then buff up with a clean towel it usually restores the oils and makes it clear. Plus next time you wear them, you'll smell lemony fresh. Lol. It has to be Pledge for some reason, other brands don't work. Must be something in the formulation of it that restores the oils.

Court Shut This trick was actually shown to me by a friend who sold and serviced vacuum cleaners. He used it on clear plastic parts of used machines. It brought them back like new. He also polished plastic with Never Dull silver polish. The stuff that comes in a can and is a cotton wading impregnated with the polish. Thus took out any scratches.

To fix the plastic pants that went opaque try one one of those kits to clean the headlights on your car. You would have to first test on a small area inside and out side to see on which side the discoloration is on. Would love to see a video of you trying it.

Hey Safiya, I think your clear plastic pants might be cloudy because of their exposure to UV radiation. UV radiation can cause UV degradation, which can make flexible plastics like polypropylene stiff. Some plastics have UV stabilizers, but most cheap polycarbonate sheets don't. Without the UV stabilizers, the plastics can go through phototendering, which deteriorates the plastics and changes the mechanical properties, so if your pants are less flexible, then it's probably the UV. I remember having a pen-case that went through the same UV degradation your pants went through because I carried it around in the sun, and it became really stiff.

Well, it wasn't about the outfit, just the pants.
Since the pants were no longer transparent, they were "unclear", which also means unable to be determined.
So "It's unclear." was a joke with those double meanings.

so many of our clothes are polyester, (poly)acrylic and elastane. we just managed to make soft so it feels like natural fabric. they predicted that well, especially bc they knew plastic is cheap. so yeah, they got it right.

What your pants did is called "blooming". It's common in rubbers and plastics. Take olive oil and a microfiber towel and rub them in circular motions. You may need to use dawn dish soap after to remove the oily residue but they should return to normal.
