when I was younger I used to hate the colour pink, I had no idea why, but now it makes me feel pretty. I have depression, and my psychologist told me that, if I ever found something that gives me pleasure I shouldn't let it go. I feel like this pink does that, at least for me, it makes me feel more delicate, soft, and I feel pretty when I use it, which is like a big thing for me. I don't know anyone's reason to love this colour but mine, and I feel like, if it makes you happy, fuck what other people might think. Now, I'll continue drinking my tea from my big ass pastel pink cup💝

I was recently converted myself. No one was more shocked than I was about it either. I still love my blacks and greys, but damn that millenial pink and the pastel neutrals that turned me.

I love that you don't just try products or trends you also do the research. It's a nice addition and sets you apart from other videos. What about the research into the fashion industry? Don't get me wrong but that's something that's so important! I really like your videos Saf but am so unhappy about the promotion of consumerism :(
i hear you on the problems with the fashion industry, but i don't think that means one should stop enjoying fashion altogether! and it's also not like the only way to enjoy fashion is to buy an entire new wardrobe every few months when the season changes. there are so many issues with every industry, and many people are working hard to improve them. i would love to do some videos eventually on how clothes are made, but i don't think we can blame the problems of the fashion industry on consumerism. the people who should be held accountable are lawmakers & enforcers!
Hey thanks for your reply! Of course it doesn't mean we have to stop enjoying fashion, and as you will find out if you do some research, there's already a lot of companies selling fashion that has been made in good conditions and have more durability to them so they have smaller environmental impact. I am also one of the persons trying to improve the fashion industry by trying to get attention to the subject and showing how there's more options for every kind of person :)
I get that you feel that the responsibility is in the hands of the lawmakers, and I totally agree, unfortunately they are often corrupt or bought by companies, or companies switch production countries when they make labor cost higher. On top of that we live in neoliberal times and the responsibility (in the view of the business world) is put in the hands of the consumer, who often don't have time and means to investigate into the production methods of their garments.
On a positive note: here in Europe we have some more attention from lawmakers, who are now discussing import tax raises on clothing produced by countries which don't respect human rights.
It would be really awesome if you watched "the true cost" (yes it's on netflix!) and maybe share your thoughts on it. With your following you could make a great positive impact!
